I haven't digital scrapped in FOREVER, trying again after a long hiatus. I hope i can get my point across here to ask this correctly. Opened a new template, pasted in a picture on a layer.....trying to FIT that picture to that layer. I cannot get the right command?? I thought it was CNTRL G?? Not working, I have tried just about every letter command/cntl/shift combo I can think of. It's making me nuts. TIA!!!!

Mac or PC? Make sure your photo is on the layer DIRECTLY OVER your template/ frame layer. Then it's Option Command G on a Mac, and I believe it's Alt Control G on a PC.
I know how frustrating it is to forget something so simple, that you used to know so well...
(However, if you are using Photoshop Elements, I believe the shortcut is different). When in doubt, simply go to: Layer> Create Clipping Mask. |

Yeah, Stef is right that in PSE it's ctl g, but it sounds like you tried that? Is the photo above the mask layer in your layers palette? Are you using a layered template? |

Control G should work, or the path Stef suggested for you (Layer>Create clipping mask). Since I don't know which version of PSE you are working in, should you be working in an older version of PSE, the path will be Layer>Group With Previous.
Also, I was wondering about this:
Are you using a layered template?
I'm sorry to ask such a basic question, but is it a template or a quick page? If it's a quick page, then you can't clip anything into it...you have to move the picture behind the entire quick page. I know it gets confusing sometimes! |
