card
I cannot figure out how to draw the lines. I know how to make a scrapbooking template that contains clipping masks, but I can't figure out how to make this journaling card. I am basically interested in just the outline and the sections that are outlined. Thanks |

Am I understanding you correctly that you are trying to create an outline on a journaling card...like you have your card, you just want to draw a line border around the edges?
One way is to create a new layer just above your card in the layer stack. From the toolbar, go and grab the rectangular marquee tool. If the card is a rectangle or a square, then all you have to do create a rectangle or square shape with that tool using the mouse. You can make the shape the size you want while you still have ahold of the mouse. You should see an outline on top of your card that's made of the "marching ants."
From there go to Edit>Stroke (Outline)Selection. This brings up a little window, where you choose how big/thick you want the lines of your outline (I usually go with 10-15 pixels), and what color you want the outline with. Once you fill in the information it asks you for, click OK and you should be good to go.
If you are interested in creating individual lines, go the the shape tool, where you can get a few different shapes to draw with. Choose the line tool and you can use that make lines. Hold down the shift key while you create lines with the mouse to get them straight.
Does that help? |

Lorell, that sounds like a very simple way to do that! I'm going to have to remember that next time. |
