I have done it but not so much the event itself as the story of where I was or how I felt or what changed for me after it happened. more my story than the news story.

I have before - like Shan it is more a perspective from my spot in the world. Now, I most definitely include some of the big news items in my project life pages.

I have a couple of pages done during the last two Olympics, that cite some of the athlete's accomplishments, but only in the context of how my "future Olympians" have steep competition in the records made by American athletes. I also am a huge tennis fan so I have scrapped about tournaments I've seen.
I tend to be a bit of a Pollyanna about the bad things that happen in the world, and would only include a topic in my scrapbooks if it is about a positive subject. But I think if I did PL pages it would be interesting to look back on those later to see what kind of events occurred during the year.

i think that is a great idea for project life. it would help you remember things about a particular week or month or whatever.
