How do you go about centering text? For instance, let's say I have a solid square and I want to type one word in the square and I want the word to be centered both vertically and horizontally. How do I go about this in PSE?

I'm asking this in reference to this Christmas card template I used:

You can see how it has a couple squares in it where you can write your own text. I could not figure out how to get it centered perfectly, so just had to move my text box to get it close, but it was still off.

Make sure that you have used the center justification option to centre your text within the text box.

Select both the text box and square block layers in the layers palette (use ctrl and left click the mouse on each layer to have both active)

At the top select Align
then vertical centers
then horizontal centers

Now your text should be centered within the square with even borders all the way around.

ETA this is using Photoshop Elements V9.

Thank you so much! I will have to play. I have PSE9, so this should work great.
