Trying to get a handle on digi supplies and wonder, when you buy a kit do you keep everything? Some pieces I really don't think I will use, do any of you delete parts? New to digital, been collecting, now nee to organize and start using Thanks for any suggestions.

I do. I know right away that there are some things I will never use so delete them...
Some pieces are not my style but some are. I keep what I will use and delete the rest.
Treat it like someone gave you a bag of clothes - would you keep all the items just because they were in the bag or keep just the ones you know you will wear. LOL

I definitely delete the stuff I know I will never use. Also, if there are multiple items of a single design simply recolored, I'll often delete all but one of them. |

Gasp! Delete? I don't. I may think something is never going to be my style, and a year later it is the exact right thing to add to a lo. Styles change. When I first started digi I swore I would never use staples because I would never have used staples in an IRL paper lo. Guess what? Now I use staples on almost every digital lo!
Also, I participate in a lot of challenges. Frequently a challenge will call for me to use something I wouldn't ordinarily. If I didn't keep things I don't usually use, I wouldn't have those things available for challenges.
But, you have to find what works for you. (But I really suggest keeping the staples! You never know...) |

I delete things that aren't my style from my computer. However, I keep a copy of the original kit on a flash drive so if my style would ever change the element is there.

I only delete items that I really don't like right away. I keep everything else even if I'm not sure I'll ever use it. Like Liz says, you never know if you're style will change down the road. |

yep I delete. If the same thing is in the kit in 3 colours I keep one, its so easy to recolour something. Also if I don't like something I delete it too. I also look at what I have in my supplies, already have 47 different staples? I really don't think I need to add anymore. Its all up to you how you want to store your stuff. Just like paper scrappers there are hoarders and minimalists. |

I almost never delete. Not that I haven't thought about it. Mainly because on occasion I will have thought that I would never possibly use a certain paper or element and then later end up using them after all. |

when i get the organization bug, sometimes i go back and delete, but not immediately. there are just not enough hours in my days. i admire you all who are all organized and tagged. i am a failure in that department. i am lucky if they make it in the right folder and get backed up regularly. |

I delete SOME things that I really don't want, but very few. I am a picker of "stuff" from here and there in my kits and never know what will strike my fancy. |

What Liz and Jane said.
I'm finding it hard enough to purge my paper supplies which take up so much physical space, the digital stuff gets a reprieve only because of it's a case of 'what the eye doesn't see ...'. |

I would never delete part of anything. I have moved stuff to CDs. I don't know- I'm like Liz figuring I may need it some day.

I have thought about it. But haven't actually done it. The reason I've considered it is because my online backup is chronological and theoretically I could get it back if I needed it. But I don't think I actually will. Just get another HD. Lol.

When I first starting buying digital kits and supplies, NEVER. As for freebies, yes, all the time. I think I had some weird feeling about throwing something away that I had paid for! But that was a long time ago and as time went on I had so much stuff that I had no choice so yes, I now do delete the things that I know I will never use. (I do keep the zip files though... just in case!) |

I don't think my computer has a delete key. I'm sure of it in fact. |

I do it all the time, although I don't delete much. There are some things that I KNOW I will never use so they get deleted right after I've extracted the kit.
I've got so much stuff that I'm trying to get the point where I delete kits I've already used that I know I will probably never use again. You know, when I paper scrapped, once I used supplies, I never thought about them again. I just bought more. I really wish I could think of my digi supplies the same way. |

I have so many digital supplies now that I delete immediately. There are some things that I don't like and I know right away that my mind is never going to change about that particular thing.
For a while, I didn't delete anything, ever, not even freebies that turned out not to be my taste. But now I have so much stuff that I'd rather pore through stuff that I like rather than have it mixed in with stuff that I don't. |

Delete it girl. If it isn't your style and you don't see yourself using, get rid of it. You the closet approach, if you haven't used it within 6 mo to a year, toss it.
Calm down, this is for the stuff she immediately doesn't like. |
