I'm a paper scrapbooker. I have a silhouette, but do just basic stuff with it. I just bought a kit from www.brittdesigns.com (the cute disney project life one).
I want to use it just for the printables and cutables so I can have the paper stuff to make a project life based disney themed album.
I wish they just sold the paper stuff, but like it so much, I figure I'll try to print it myself.
It's downloaded. Now what??? I did check the threads at the top for newbies, but it looked like it was more for people who want to do whole digital pages. I don't think I want to do that, just want to print the cards. Help?! | |

It's hard to know how to help you without more information. Do you have a digital scrapbooking program like PSE? Or do you have Word? Can you post a picture of the preview so we can see what's in the kit? That might help narrow down the answer a bit. |

www.brittishdesigns.com I bought the bundle on the home page. Have no need to do anything with the papers. Just want the card packs. I would like the cutables, but can do without.
I don't have any digital scrapbooking programs, although I could get a cheap one if needed. I have silhouette and works (old computer!) I don't even have a photo program on this computer, just whatever came with it. An easy photo program would be good to have! Umm, I did just download winzip?
Thanks!
edited - I take it PSE is photoshop! Unless someone has a different suggestion, looks like Im buying that tomorrow....

Hi there! PSE is Photoshop Elements which costs less than the full version of Photoshop. Also, though, you might want to try downloading Picasa by Google. It's free and is a pretty easy photo editing tool for beginners and you can print your downloads right from there
Here's the link if you want to give it a try!

There's a deal going on at Amazon for PSE (which stands for Photoshop Elements, and is a much less complicated version of Photoshop, and more affordable). You can also download a free trial from Adobe for 30 days. If you do get PSE let us know, and we can walk you through how to use the program.
It's really hard to tell you how to print unless we have similar programs. It might be worth trying to just double click on one of the cards you want to print and right click and see if you get a print option. Most operating systems have a basic ability to print, I think. Worth a try.

If the files are provided in pdf or jpg/jpeg format I think you should be able to print them from standard software (eg adobe pdf or MS Word for the jpg).
I'm not sure about any cut files as I don't have an electric cutting system (that I've used for a long while anyway!).
Did the designer not provide any detailed information with the download?
Without having access to the download itself it's hard to know what you are dealing with.

I just looked at the kit description and it says it includes the cards on "easily printable sheets". Are there PDF files in the kit? because if you have PDFs you can just print without PSE. |

I'm a big advocate for getting PSE (it's worth it!). But, if you want to print the cards and if it doesn't come with a pdf, here's another suggestion. Open the file and open the cards you want to print. Right click, select copy, and then paste them into a Word document. When you do that, the sizing may change, so you might have to resize the card. I hope this helps! |

Thanks!
I just downloaded picasa and am going to get PSE...but I did figure our how to get the files into silhouette, then print and cut. It dodn't cut exactly where it should have, but Im going to keep practicing. Can't wait to play with PSE, too!
