No pranks here. I'm not clever enough to think of those kinds of things. Thanks goodness my co-worker who is was on vacation today.

Thanks for starting the thread...my kids started back to school today and I was rushing around all day! It always surprises me how busy I am after a school break...

My youngest is Star Student this week, so we had to get a poster made tonight for him to bring in tomorrow...thank goodness for PSE and the ability to quickly make photo collages. My other two boys are trying to design their pine wood derby cars...the race is next week and they haven't even done anything with their cars...ack! I'm glad dh gets to spearhead that project!

As for pranks...I absolutely hate them. I tell my kids that the surest way to get me mad at them is to play a prank. Everyone listened except for my youngest. He has to write a copy of his spelling words using different colors, and he told me he couldn't find the colored pencils. Turns out he was hiding them from me. He pulled them out and said "April Fools!" He quickly said sorry after he saw the stinky look I gave him.

I know, I know...I'm the wet blanket in the group, but I've seen a lot of pranks that have hurt people's feelings, and the whole idea just rubs me the wrong way.

I pranked my DS, I switched all the candy and chocolate out of his easter eggs for carrots. He was less than amused

I have a seriously busy week. People coming for furnace quotes, a funeral, looking after a friends kids, dr appt, car repairs and snow tires coming off, MIL coming on Friday then this weekend is the Maple syrup festival and an IKEA trip to get furniture for MIL's new condo.

Never should have typed that all out, now I'm stressed, wheres the easter chocolate!!

Lorell- I'm like you. I HATE pranks. I love a good joke, I think I have a good sense of humor, love to tease. But for some reason, I hate April Fool's jokes and pranks. They can often be mean or hurtful. I do enjoy hearing about clever AFJs though... yesterday one of my favorite design blogs pulled one where they created a new masthead and altered the content, so it looked like they had changed their format to a cat-loving blog. I thought that was hilarious. But as a rule, don't play an April Fools joke on me. Not a fan!

Shan- sorry you're stressed! Hope you are able to get some of that chocolate you switched for carrots. (Now THAT'S funny!) Good luck with your busy week!

I'm going to catch a plane in a couple of hours to fly to Salt Lake City to meet my brand new one week old granddaughter! I'm taking a week's vacation, and I'll enjoy every minute of it, holding little Lucy and just relaxing with my daughter, son-in-law, grandpup, and new baby! Can't wait!

ShanB you stressed me out with that list, but I have one equally long and no, I'm not going to type it all out....LOL Do eat some of that chocoloate you switched out for carrots; he'll never know it's missing.

STEF how exciting. Can't wait to see a LO of the new dgd. Have a fantastic vacation.

No pranks here either. My dad was a good prank puller but his were always funny and not hurtful. He had a great sense of humor. I miss that.

Ok off to start my list.

I am not really an April Fool's Day fan, either. My 2nd graders always try to get me, but they say things like, "There's a spider on your head!!!" I'm a wet blanket, too, Lorell. I intentionally DON'T fall for any pranks. If I did, I'd be getting warned about spiders, snakes, wombats, squirrels, etc. on my head for the rest of the day! One year, one of my aides gave the kids a word search that didn't actually have any of the listed words in it. Isn't that rotten?

One year, a student did get me. One thing that drives me nuts is when I take the time to get all of the students' attention. I tell them I'm about to give important directions. I say the directions, write them down on the board, say them again... Then someone walks up to my desk and says, "What are we supposed to do?" Arrrrghhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!

So one April Fool's, one of of my less-than-well-behaved students came up to my desk after I spent 10 minutes giving directions, and said, "I don't know what to do." I think steam came out of my ears. Then, he quickly grinned and said, "April Fool's!" I laughed so hard.

Sometimes I think we have April Fool's Day to help remind us not to take ourselves so seriously. I skimmed by this year without any pranks bestowed on me.

Not much happening here. Did some scrapping today.

Had my first furnace quote and I want to buy from him just because he was funny. I told him I was grumpy I had to be an adult and spend my tax return on a furnace when the kid in me wanted to get some thing fun like a puppy.

He told me my friends would be more likely to come I've to see a new puppy rather thn a furnace. Unless I had bizarre friends. At the end he asked what he could do to get our business shy of throwing in a puppy to the offer. I told him housework goes a long way. He mopped the basement floor too funny.

ShanB that's hilarious about the mopping. Heck, I'd be surprised they wouldn't throw in a puppy. Furnaces are expensive. I upgraded (well replaced as mine died) my furnace a couple years ago...costly. Yet very hard to do without. Hope you get that puppy soon.

Today was a work around the house day both in and outdoors. I worked myself to exhaustion so now to treat myself I'm eating jelly beans and catching up on chat before I head to bed.

Another day tomorrow to tackle more on my TO DO but never gets DONE list.

That's part of being a mom, I think, Debi. My to do list is always running long and I've yet to reach the end of it.

Having a to-do list that doesn't get done is just part of being a human! LOL

I have to go and do more laundry. That is never completely done around here. I am thankful, though, to have a washer and dryer in the basement. A high capacity washer! So, how can I complain really?

I haven't done much scrapping. Not feeling motivated.
