You could buy a silhouette cameo with that ($299) when it becomes available. Or put it toward the KNK Zing that cuts heavier materials.
($399) later this year when it is released.
I'd love to have a copy or code! Will it work on macs?
IF it was the Mac version, SCAL will.
or the windows version with either a windows pc or a windows emulator-edited for clarity.

They would have to have the software download for SCAL2...if you saved it to a file, then you could burn that to a disc.

SCAL 2- OK, I have a security code and I have the installation software that Craft-Edge just resent me. i think I can download it onto a disc.
Now who can help me...
Is this all I would need to sell it to someone else? Can anyone else run this and use it if I uninstall it from my computer?
I would sell it to someone who is wanting it but I only want to sell it if I know for certain that it would work on someone else's Cricut. Any help or advice would be appreciated!
(SCAL 2 for PC, not MAC. Also have SCAL LIB it UP2 if that can be transfered also)

Wow! It amazes me how quick some people are to "scalp" others for copies of a software. Ebay has it for $399!!! I mean if you have no intention of blessing someone with a program you no longer need (highly unlikely) at least be considerate and sell it for the same amount you bought it for or even less! But I realize this is America and making money any way you can will always be the name of the game, at least for some. I have given away copies of programs I no longer use, and here I am praying someone would do the same with a SCAL 2 (like that's gonna happen). Actually, I am even looking for someone who would download a specific font I have and make me a stencil sheet. If you or someone you know is willing to help me out with this please email me. I'm just curious how selling it on eBay is scalping...I purchased it legally and have decided to resell it, legally. Why would someone just give away an expensive program that they had to purchase first themselves? The seller didn't list it for $399....the bidders bumped it up to that price. Don't make it seem like everyone is out there to screw people over. I'm selling mine bc I no longer use it and could use some extra money. Kudos to you for giving things away, but yes, this IS America & people have bills to pay. Sorry it's become difficult to find the program & I'm not trying to be rude, but maybe think before generalizing. |

Hi everyone, i am desperate for a copy! I bought the cricut specifically b/c of the SCAL software, but then lost track of it during my recent pregnancy (had the baby in May). I'm finally back to being creative and just learned that Version 2 is no longer available. HELP! PLEASE! With a new baby I can't afford to buy a whole new cutter. Thanks!

You may have purchased it legally, but selling it to another is not legal according to the creators of SCAL. The terms of use you agreed to when you installed the software stated that is was not transferable.I know this has come up several times on the board. Several of the higher priced ones on ebay are brand new, never been installed discs.

Oh, I know. This has been going on since the minute SCAL2 wasn't available anymore. I know there were lots of people that just waited too long to buy it, and it was too late, and were hoping to somehow still get it.
Legally, don't quote me because I'm not an attorney, but once you load software, it isn't usually transferrable--meaning you can't just uninstall it and sell it....
That's true--it is NON-transferable once it's been downloaded on someone's computer.
If someone wants to use SCAL2 with their Cricut, they are going to have to probably update their firmware, and that would probably make SCAL2 not even work on their machine.
If someone wants to sell theirs that's already been put on a computer, it's not legal because it's NON-transferable.
If someone wants to use SCAL with another cutter, they just need the current version of SCAL, which I think is 3, and then they wouldn't need to buy it off of a "stranger" on a message board. They can go the regular route to buy it at a reasonable price. |
