I am new at digi scrapping and from reading this message board I see that most scrappers use Photo Shop Elements.
Ive read about Scrapbook Factory Deluxe and Scrapbook MAX!
Has anyone tried either of these?
Or do you have another software program to reccommend?
thanks so much!

I use Heritage Makers. I had put of digi scrapping before that because I just couldn't grasp PSE. HM came out with their tool in the fall and it is so easy to use. It is web based so I don't have to download anything to my computer. I have my tool and elements all in one spot. I can also use any elements that I get from other sites. I have SFD and didn't like the style of the elements in it. |

The Heritage Makers program is internet based. A consultant just has to set up an accout for you. I'm sure Wendy would set up a free basic account for you if you are interested. |

ACDSee Photo Editor is another option. It doesn't have the high learning curve that PSE has, but it can do most everything. It's very user friendly. I've been using it for about 5 months. I love how easy it is to do text on a curve. There's a 30 day trial at the following link & we have tutorials for it here & more are coming
Here are some screenshots -

Heritage Makers is an web based digital publishing company. We have 2 systems, Classic and Digital Scrapbooking. It is not a software that you purchase and download. It's web based. The Classic system are template based books. Then the digital scrapbooking system pretty much is like PSE or the other photo editing programs. Then there is a digital scrapbooking boutique as well. There are 2 levels to the digital scrapbooking - Select and Premier. Think of it like this, you have your scrapbooking corner (Classic - which is free), your scrapbooking closet (Select), or the mack daddy stuido (Premier). Select and Premier are subscription based, as I posted before. You get access to the digital tool and the art content. The Premier account has over $1200 in backgrounds, alphas, embellies, etc. They update it each month. ScrapGirls is our designer.
If you take a look at my website in my siggy, you can actually view all the products, try it out, and view the content in each account.
I like this because it's easy to learn and use, I don't have to download it to my computer and worry about space or my computer crashing. I've enjoyed digital scrapping this way. I love the books I have done. Now that they've made it so that all the books are able to be made in this, it's so much more fun and flexible.
I'd be happy to do a workshop for anyone interested. Just let me know. Or answer any questions anyone may have. |

I use Scrapbook Factory Deluxe and am very happy with it. It is very user friendly. Like the poster above, I'm not crazy about ALL the elements it comes with....but you are not limited to using those. You can use just about any digi kit you can find online. It does come with a lot of elements, though....and some of them are useful. Its also very reasonably priced. |

Look into Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro...I think they are a little more powerful that scrapbook programs and might allow you to grow in application as you become more proficient. I use PSP and love to fiddle and learn computer stuff.

You might try FxFoto too. It has a low learning curve but does all the stuff PSE does. You can do layers easily and it preserves your orginal photo so you never have to worry about altering a photo and losing the original. You can use any kit, png brushes and do curved text and all sorts of stuff. All my LOs are done with it. What ever you decide, I hope you jump in and have fun !! |

Scrapbook Max is an awesome program for making scrapbooks.
Small learning curve and you can purchase kits or there is lots of free downloads
on their website or you can make your own backgrounds and embellishments. It's easy to make a quick digital scrapbook. I have PSE 4 but use it mostly for fixing my bad photographs or altering photos for fun.

I just started digi scrapping and I downloaded GIMP. It doesn't seem to be as robust as Photoshop (not sure about PSE) but it works great for what I need now. The best part is that it is open source! (Open Source = FREE)
