what do you have as coordinating colors for adjoining rooms?

We're doing a test paint of Latte in our kitchen tonight because the other color didn't work out for us (too greenish even though it is on the same card as a brown we have in another room that we love).

Anyway, our dining room - and a hallway - will adjoin and I want something with a bit of a pop for the dining room and something more neutral (or maybe we'll just use Latte) for the hallway.

I'm interested to know what colors you have that work well with Latte - and if you have pictures, please share.

We have Butter Up (yellow) in our kitchen/hallway & 1 bathroom, Restrained Gold in the tv room & living room, and latte in all our bedrooms & our other bathroom.

This is of interest to me as well, because the "builder" paint that will be in our new house is very close to the latte color. I like the look of the restrained gold, too. Would love to see pics if anyone has them!

We tried at least 6 different shades of taupe before falling in love with Latte. It's perfect everything else was either too green, to pink or to yellow.

I have Latte in my Kitchen and family room. And the long wall that they both share I have a beautiful yellow called Chesterton buff that I found on a pottery barn swatch.

The color in the ajointing rooms is the next color down on latte's color swatch. I found a huge 5 gallon Bucket of it in the "as is" pile for $25. There is no way I can pass up a good deal.

I love my yellow with the Latte. I will see if I can find a pic of it.

We have Latte in our hallway. I have charcoal grey in the living room, network grey in the dinning and harvest squash in the kitchen. I'm at work so I have no pictures.

LOL! Latte's on my list when we repaint, too!

If you want something lighter in the hallways (how good is your light/lighting in there? ) look at the Kilim Beige on the same paint sample card.

My neighbor has Latte in her family room and breakfast nook; the kitchen is a red (not burgandy, more a brick-ish color) and she went two shades darker than latte in her dining room and living room. The rooms all flow into each other and the colors are visible from each room--it works really well.

(IF you'd come visit...you could see it firsthand! Don't you need a break from the remodeling yet?!? )

I painted a little before I realized I was in over my head.
Here is a picture of Latte in the hall/living area.
The wall w/ the door on it is in the kitchen and it is Sherwin Williams' Garden Sage.
The painters are coming next week. I can post pics of the finished rooms then. So far, we like the two colors together.

Thanks everyone. It looks so great in everyone's photos.

We're having such a hard time with choosing the paint color becuase we LOVE the color (Cardboard) we put into our family room, but when you move up on the color palette to the lighter colors, it starts to look sort of green.

Right now we are trying to decide between Latte and Camelback. We already painted the walls Baquette (the next lighter color to Cardboard) and it was just too dark and green for a large area.

We've also been trying out Restrained Gold and while I like it, DH isn't fond of it, although I think if he saw an entire room of it, it might be better. I still might work that into the dining room.

I have so darn many swatches on the wall it's ridiculous.

We tried Baguette on our walls and thought it was too green also. I ended up using Bungalow Gold (Eddie Bauer Craftsman color) from Lowe's. It's darker and more gold than Camelback. It goes really well with our Rookery walls and crimson red accents.

Our main room and hallway is painted in Latte and all the other rooms in the house are painted in different colors. Here's how they all look together...

Living Room (Latte), Kitchen (SW Jonquil), and Master Bedroom (BM Raspberry Truffle)

Hallway (Latte), Green Room (BM Dill Pickle), and Blue Room (BM Sapphireberry)

Hallway (Latte), Purple Room (BM Purple Lace with Victorian Trim strie), and Green Room (SW Ryegrass)

You can see more pictures of all these colors in my house here:

Dill Pickle Green Room

Hope this helps

That's pretty funny! I have latte and Kilm Beige in my whole house with Blonde in my kitchen and family room. I guess I need to see what the Ryegrass looks like!

I think a dark red would look good. So would a chocolate brown.

The wall w/ the door on it is in the kitchen and it is Sherwin Williams' Garden Sage.
The painters are coming next week. I can post pics of the finished rooms then. So far, we like the two colors together.

I love the two colors next to each other. Garden Sage is such a pretty green. I would love to see more pics after the painters come. Your house looks great!

I wish we could get SW paints here - I love that colour. I'm going to have to see if we can find it. Maybe there's a "lesser name" company that's the same. Anyone know?

Haysmom: I love your red walls - just beautiful. My dining roon curtains have exactly the same colours, with a touch of black.

This definitely isn't red but we just painted our master bedroom Latte and Master Bath Meditative. It looks so good together! I can't wait to buy coordinating bedding and window coverings

I just painted my daughters new room Latte, and did a small, angled wall in a dark brown from Lowe's called Journey. She wanted a coffee-themed room, so the colors are GREAT!

Her colors are light pink and dark pink, and light brown {Latte} and dark brown {Journey} with cream being the accent color. It looks really cool for a 'tween room.
