Good morning! Welcome to Week Three in our Eight Week Album course. The downloads aren't working for some reason this morning, but I will ask Melanie to look into it.

Thanks to everyone who is participating so far. It's not too late to join in! Last week's instructions for engagement/wedding pre-parties can be found here. Last week's challenge can be found here. (I will work on pulling a name for last week's challenge winner tonight!)

Another busy week for us (which they all will be) - rehearsals and rehearsal dinners. The instructions for this week can be found here. And the challenge can be found here.

So here we are at week three! Did everyone have a rehearsal? If not, feel free to start getting ready for next week - the ceremony!

I figured this week (the rehearsal/rehearsal dinner) would be the events where we would start dealing with LOTS of pictures, so I've included many sketches this week and also links to collage pages that some of the Garden Girls have done. I really encourage thinking about doing spreads with one enlargement and then doing lots of collage pages to get all those important photos in.

So post any of your questions, thoughts, and ideas here. Thanks again for participating - what a great group!

I am loving this class! I only have pictures from the actual rehersal (or at least that's all I can find at the moment. I'm sure that once I get everything down the way I want it I'll find some from the dinner too). I do have the invitation to our rehersal dinner and I found a menu from the dinner too. I really wish that I would have written down some memories from that night...it's hard to think back 4 years and try to remember the details. So, I may not do much journaling this week. I hope to get the LO done by this weekend!

Looking forward to this week! We didn't have a big rehearsal or dinner, but in lieu of a bridal shower, my maid of honor threw us an open house for all of our out of town guests to see our newly-purchased home. So this week I plan to do a page for that, as well as ones to highlight the ring/ring shopping and planning, and maybe get started on some ceremony pages.

Now that I have finally gotten started, I am really getting into it! Thanks Laura, for putting on this class!

Our rehearsal is also when we started decorating, and when our families actually met eachother, I really hope I have pictures of all that! I think a collage would be great! In my last email from Winkflash they said something about new collages...I might check into that, I would love it if they did a 12x12!

Yeah, week three and i'm caught up still!

We didn't have a formal rehearsal or rehearsal dinner. We had a few people over to rehearse the night before (i think!) but not the whole party (i think it was just the girls), my DH was driving from Pensacola that night, so i knew that he couldn't make it to do a formal one.

I do have our marriage certificate, but we signed that the day of.

I do have some candid photos of each of us getting ready for the ceremony...would that count for this week?

FYI - I was able to download the pdf and the digital elements.

Julie, i know exactly what you mean...it's been almost 12 years since our wedding and somethings are really fuzzy! But i've been talking to my mom, MIL and DH about some of them to see what each remembers, and it's great b/c they remember things i didn't and vice versa!

I have the invite for the rehearsal dinner but no pictures from either the rehearsal or rehearsal dinner. I am trying to hunt some down from people who were there...but so far no luck...just a video my little ringbearer took with my camcorder asking what people wanted to say to Mike & I.

Hopefully I can come up with something!

Ditto Julie and Carolyn on trying to remember the details of the rehearsal. It's all a bit fuzzy. My husband I commute to work together so I had my laptop out journaling and asking him questions. I think I'm going to call some of my friends to see what they remember from the night and the rehearsal. One of the best men (my hubby had 2) had his car broken into and his camera stolen. I *think* his pants for the wedding were stolen too and we had to buy him another pair but for the life of me, I can't remember that for sure or not so I'm going to give him a call.

My parents get arrive tomorrow for the weekend so I want to try to get our rehearsal page done tonight. I'm hoping to do the Getting Ready photos done this week since I know next week will be busy with so many ceremony pictures.

Monday evening we got back from a weekend in Paris, to celebrate my dh's birthday (8/14) and our 2nd wedding-anniversary that was yesterday. In Paris we visited (amongst other things of course ) le Temple du Scrap, where I finally, after over 2 years of searching, found cardstock and primaflowers in the right tone of purple for the weddingalbum! I'm really ready to go now! We didn't have any rehearsels but we did have a lot of preparations for the wedding so hopefully I can finally start on that album this week.

too bad that some of you can't remember all the details, I keep a journal since 1999 or 2000, I started doing just special occasions and vacations but soon I started to record my daily life aswell, I love that I have an account of how my daily life looked like back than. it takes a little time every day but it takes the pressure out of feeling the need to be catched up with scrapping your photo's, I use my journal as the startingpoint for my scrapbook-journalling. Maybe you could ask people who were there to contribute and add their journalling to your album aswell?

Hi, i am hoping to catch up again this week. Last week i only got our engagement page done, i really wanted to get our shower page done as well. Hopefully this week i will get both done. All i really need for that to happen is to actually scan my pics, dang the pre-digital time. I was also thinking of putting dividers between pre- and post events to separate it from the ceremoney. Has anyone tried anything like that????

For those that don't have a lot of pictures, maybe you could send some e-mails to family and friends and ask them for their pictures/memories of the event? I have a paparazzi-like family so photos definitely weren't a problem for me!

Karin - I think "page dividers" would be a cool idea - kind of like a title page for each wedding event? Definitely could work!

I don't have pictures of the actual rehearsal, but I do of dinner. I'm the one usually taking the pictures and as I was the bride, no one took pictures of us practicing, lol. Oh, well.

I was really mad, because the best man and one of my bridesmaids pretty much missed all of rehearsal. But thats a whole other story, lol.

We had dinner at Newport Grill, since it was close to the Country Club where we got married. The food was really good and it was nice to just hang out with my closest friends and family. I have a crazy family, but my flower girl (my 2 1/2 little sister- my stepmom's baby) stole the show. She was just too adorable practicing and she was so well behaved at dinner. Oh course, the day of, she got too scared to walk down the aisle by herself.

So I found all my photos! They did get burned onto the disc my computer just wasn't reading it. So I have saved and double saved them...just in case. I ordered all my pictures for the next few weeks plus some that I missed. I put together my title page and half of my engagement page. I will work on the other half tonight and figure out how to post them...

I have no pictures from the rehearsal or rehearsal dinner. I'm usually the one snapping pics but somehow in all the excitement I forgot to elect an honorary photog for the rehearsal.
SO I'm not sure what to do.... I could either make a page about the shower OR do a layout of use getting ready the morning of the ceremony...any thoughts?

Hello all. I don't have any rehearsal dinner photos either. I have an old VHS tape of it....Argh! Sure is better to get married now rather than 2o+ years ago!

Here's my thoughts: I can photo some of the sheet music and find photos of some of the significant people there - maybe even journal about who we had in wedding party and why we picked them? - and find/take photos NOW of the kind of dinner we had. I could even go photograph the church where we had it and put that in....

Just thinking - I'm sure it won't go smoothly but maybe I can re-create it enough! I know I was Bridezilla so I'm probably glad there isn't too much domentation.....

Thanks, Charmer for getting us on week 3. I feel like - was it creativemoma- who said, "Yea - week 3 and I'm still caught up!"

I have pics from the dinner only. It was at my husband-to-be's parents' home. Its bittersweet to look through those pictures because so many of the folks in them have passed on. I also have the planning card my mother-in-law made with the menu and guest list - I found it in her recipe box.

My mom is sending me some fabric and lace from my dress and the pattern envelope plus a few other things she found in her cedar chest, so I am looking forward to incorporating those things in some way.

This is a great class. I love reading everyone's stories and the layouts are all beautiful.

I think the best part about my #1DS getting married is that I had the time to plan to have people taking pictures at all these events. We are blessed with friends and family who were willing to be my photographers. We have lots of pics of the rehearsal and the dinner afterwards. Now to choose which ones to use ... hmmmm

We got married on a Cruise and most of our guests were arriving the day before. That night I went out with my side of the family and dh went out with his side of the family. I don't think I have any photos, but my mom probably does, so I may have to hit her up for some. If not, I probably will just journal about it and not include any photos. It was nice to have one last evening with my parents, brother and grandfather, and I think my husband enjoyed the time with his family as well.

Jrogers5482, i'm in the same boat as you but i didn't have a rehearsal or dinner. I did do a page of my shower and i had asked about doing a layout of us getting ready too...no thoughts yet & i'm still not sure.
But Thinkie had a good idea, since you had a rehearsal and a rehearsal dinner, you could definitely journal about it.

I would definitely journal about it...Maybe you could include some memorabilia you have from leading up to the wedding? Talk about how you were feeling...You could even use a wedding photo at this point and do something like "On the eve of this day..."

Hope everyone's having fun!!

I'm so glad you are doing this! I'm finally getting some of the wedding pics scrapped - I will definitely have to go back to do the rest of them though. There was no engagement party, but 2 bridal showers & a bachelorette party and all I scrapped was the engagement! The rehearsal dinner shouldn't be too bad, but not too many pics to choose from (and I have a bad hair day in all of them!)... We had a destination wedding (Maui) so there was no "real" rehearsal, but a big rehearsal dinner (really the start of the party weekend).....

Welcome venedypics!
You will have fun here and enjoy getting those wedding pictures scrapped!

Still trying to figure out if i should just journal about our non-existent rehearsal or just scrap the pictures of my DH and i getting ready for the ceremony! Hopefully today i'll get it figured out and scrapped! I definitely don't want to get behind! Hope everyone is doing well!

Back from holidays and ready to go again. I'm behind as I missed last week's challenge. I've got rehearsal photos to scrap and shower pictures. I don't have engagement photos as it is a gift book. Looking forward to getting some more pages done this week

I finished my page over the weekend, but the gallery wasn't cooperating. Finally got it uploaded this morning. I decided to do a single page with just a photo of the 2 of us from our Rehearsal Dinner. I have exactly 4 photos from that night - all from my mom and only family related to her or the two of us. LOL Rather focus on us than leave out DH's family and my dad's. I may try to go back with a full page of journaling about it later. I found the menu options but for the life of me can not recall what was selected!

Finally finished my Rehearsal Dinner page. Our rehearsal was very casual and on St. Patrick's Day so that's why I went with the Rusty Pickle Lucky line.

I want to put a title on it I think up the left side since there's a huge blank there but I still haven't decided on a color. I was thinking black but I'm afraid it may be too harsh. Any opinions?

Just uploaded my page - and realized that I left the "s" out of Rehearsal!! That's what I get for waiting to the last minute to do the page. (will have to fix tomorrow)

I also uploaded 2 pages for the Bridal Shower to go along with last week's proposal & engagement party pages!

I am soooo excited and proud of myself that I am staying on track!

Just uploaded my pages for this week. I've been using our scanner at work so I have to be quick when I make my scan, and boy...this weeks looks awful! The paper I uesed is NOT that bright of green, it's actually a very soft color.

I'm still a little unsure of any journaling, so I'll add that later. The thing that stand out most in my mind from that evening is the fact that my in-laws were acting terrible and I just wanted to tell them all where they could go! But in reality we had a nice time and a great dinner (other than the fact that my step-MIL had a little too much to drink and made quite any impressing on our pastor). We had our dinner at a place called The Buxton Inn. That is our last name so I thought it would be fitting to have our rehearsal dinner there. We don't have any pictures from the dinner and I wish we did! Oh well!

I can't belive I've had a LO done for each week's challenge so far. I'm so excited!

Julie - congrats on getting LO's for each week! I don't see the challenge anymore so I have yet to find your LO's but I will try a different search later.

I got several pages done this week, but my little X and my Xyron are both out so I can't get the titles on my pages yet. I was able to get these two done and scanned with what adhesive I had left. Here are 2 of the 4.

I know what you mean, Julie. I can't believe I've been able to kinda keep up. I've done a page a week but still have some others to include for those weeks. I actually got this page done this weekend:

Rehearsal

I'm still waiting on my custome titles. When they arrive, then I'll do my journaling on the other page. I also have my photos all cropped and a LO figured out for my rehearsal dinner but I don't want to stick it done until I can see how the title looks. I'll do the journaling for both the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner on the same page and then a 2 page LO for the dinner. I doubt this will be done before the week is up but at least I've got it started.

I already printed out my pictures for next week and can't wait to get started!
