There's another thread about this somewhere where you can get more- but I liked it. The story is kinda thin- and a little cheesy in parts. It's mostly singing and dancing though- and the dancing is awesome. It's fun to see how many other musicals Kenny Ortega gave a nod to...really cool.

My COLLEGE daughter and her friends saw it today and loved it - she warned me to bring kleenex so it must get sappy at least once. Lots of dancing, cute songs- same old same old but it works - they loved it! Less Sharpay, more of the others, which is a nice twist- Zac is as cute and corny as ever

A little bit of Thriller, Risky Business, Flash Dance, etc.

A friend and I took 12 7-9 year old girls yesterday. It was really cheesey and we (my friend and I) giggled uncontrolably at some points (we were both over tired from very busy weeks) and the girls kept asking us what was so funny. As cheesey as it was it was still an enjoyable movie and the girls definitely liked it.

[quotA little bit of Thriller, Risky Business, Flash Dance, etc. e] [/quote] It is so funny that you said that, during the movie I kept telling my dd that this part reminds me of so-and-so movie.

I liked it though.

I went to see it with my girls (7/8) and they enjoyed it. I thought it was cute. Predictable, unoriginal (I agree on the Thriller, Flashdance, Footlose, etc. comparison) but nice family entertainment.

A friend and I took our DDs (ages 5 through 8) and they all loved it. It was really nice to see a movie that made all the kids cheer in the theater - cheesy to us, yes, but to them it was an awesome movie - and one without violence, blood, guts, etc. - a feel good movie for lots of ages of children. BTW - I was suprised at how many boys were there, of all ages, and they loved it too.

Less Sharpay!! No! She is honestly the only one that I can stomach through those moveies, I totally love her - sad but I really hate the cheesiness between Gabriella and the Zac Ephron character, I thought there was going to be more Sharpay this movie from what I saw in the previews.

took my DD to the movie and a friend of mine came along who had never seen HSM 1 or 2. It was funny how her and i were talking about certain scenes reminding us of thriller or flashdance. I'm glad we weren't the only ones.

Dd and I saw it last night and I enjoyed it as well. I thought there was more effort put into it than the last two. Better songs and the dancing was great.

We saw it last night. It was cute.

It wasn't really sappy, but you could see the emotions the original cast had in the last couple of scenes. I guess with the making of the 3 versions over the past few years they've spent a lot of time together and I don't really see them coming back in these roles because they're getting too old and their characters were pretty well finalized by the end of the movie. I also read somewhere that Zac is being considered for POTC 4. I heard a radio interview with him a few days ago and he said he hasn't been asked yet, but wants to do it very much.

There wasn't really less Sharpay and they definately left the door open for her character to come back in the future. I'm guessing they'll do another version with a new cast because they introduced some new younger characters.

POTC 4

I'm totally drawing a blank here - Planet of the Cats, People of the City, I know it's going to be something where I slap my forehead, but I can't put it together.

We went to a matinee this afternoon and thought it was very cute. I find Zac Efron to be a very charming young man - good singer, great dancer, completely likeable. I hope he continues to have a successful career.

eta - My daughter was reading over my shoulder and said, "Pirates of the Caribbean, Mom!" in a voice that let me know how dumb I am.

I'm a cheesy sap so I liked it. The only complaint I have was the ending number. It was the least impressive to me of all the songs/dances. And I wanted the last one to be really great, KWIM. Oh well.

They've already gotten a ton of $$$ from us.

Dd #3 saw it Friday night with friends
Dds 1,2,3 and a friend of dd #1 and me saw it Saturday morning
dd#2 saw it Sat night for the 2nd time with Church group
Dd#3 went for the 3rd time after church with a different group of friends.

Saw it this morning.
Plot a little thin but wow the dancing was great!
You could really see how they had improved from 1 to 3.
