At first I thought I wouldn't like the pre printed pages, but once I got to working on it and realized how much went into putting it together I changed my opinion. There is quite a bit of layering and with what it had it was quite the project to complete. My friend and I sat for 3 hours and worked on ours and got about half way through and that was with no pictures. We will add pictures later. The final result was great! It is a a beautiful calendar and it will make a meaningful gift.
I think Basic Grey did a great job.

So now I am eating my words and kicking myself

I was honestly disappointed too. The reason I buy BG is because of the layering of the patterns. This flat look is not my idea of a BG calendar. So what do you do-use it as somewhat of an inspiration for making my own. I have bought all these patterns throughout the year. So I will make up my own BG calendar.
I wish BG would make their papers double sided like so many other companies do. Put the solid colors (that most of the stores don't carry)on the back of the pattern papers.
I am the biggest fan of BG at my LSS, but she doesn't carry all of the patterns and all of each collection.
I love the new Offbeat-keep it coming.

I didn't use mine as a calendar at all. I cut it up! 14 very nice, easy QUICK 8X8 pages and a very cute little 8X8 scrapbook from Big lots that works with it for 8.00 and Great Granny who has only seen great gandbaby once is going to love this album with a photo from each month last year! It is a beuatiful little album and I wish I had an extra for work for my DH's desk. Yes, I wish the background was layered but no one but me really gets that! All who have seen this little gift wants it! I am glad I got the thing and wish I had a couple more. I did use a 40% off so I didn't feel guilty cutting the pages up. I never use a calendar anyway but I love year in review albums.
