Hello, students! (I've always wanted to say that, hee hee! I've never been a teacher, so this is super fun!)

I hope you're all super excited and ready to make some cards! This month's class can be found here: January 2009: A Year in Cards. January's class is all about making sure you have the right tools to make your cards as successful as possible. Plus, there are some designed templates to help you get started on three Valentine's Day cards.

So, head on over there and read through the class materials and then come back here and let's discuss! If you have questions or comments, or just want to tell us about your favorite Valentine's Day memory--let's hear it!

Also, be sure to upload an image of your "homework" creation to the gallery. When you do, just select this class when you upload it, and you'll get a cool badge that's displayed under your name here on the message boards. Each time you upload an image for this class/challenge, the tally under your bade will grow higher and higher. So, multiple cards are very welcome! AND, you'll be entered into a drawing for a sweet prize to be given out at the end of this month's class. Just have your image uploaded by February 14th at 11:59 pm CT.

I'll be in and out during each day to catch all your messages, so have fun!

Kristina

Kristina,

Great first class. How often will you be conducting these classes and will it always be around the 15th of the month?

Great class and great cards!! I'll be playing along for this one for sure!!

I have a question....are we allowed to use the sketches as our guide and change the embellishments (e.g. instead of flowers used stamped images?)

Jarie, there will be a new class on the 15th of every month.

tennisgirl27, you can use whatever you'd like! The sketch is just a jumping off point for you. You can use any and all embellishments or stamps that you'd like.

And I'm happy to hear that you all are excited about making some cards!

Wow! I am taking a card-making class by THE guru: Kristina! Awesome. This is so exciting Thankyou for doing this for us. It's like a belated Christmas and birthday present all-in-one. You are just too good to us. NOT! You have made my day. This is exactly what I needed to get me kicked into gear. I will have to see what I can create from this class.

And to those of you who have made cards, you rock! They look great!

Wow! Teacher Praise! I am so very flattered. That's motivation for me to make more of these to post before Feb. 14th. I'm so glad to participate in this class. I'm one of those scrappers/crafters who's always scrambling for a homemade card. Your class should really help me build up my stash. Thanks to the folks who thought up the idea to have this class for us on 2peas.

Here is my first card on Two Peas. Like the person commented above, I had to join first to play as well.

http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/pg.asp?cmd=display&layout_id=1436294

I think I over did it, though. I made all of them because I didn't read the instructions carefully enough. This is a fault of mine that manifests itself daily!

I'm also a newbie here at Two Peas. I think this class idea is wonderful and it's very inspiring. I'm working on several cards and I'll post in a few days. In order to be qualified for the prize do we have to do a Valentine card? I have quite a few Valentines already made and I need birthday cards. Can we upload cards other than Valentines and still have a chance at the drawing? Thanks for the inspiration. I'm looking forward to the entire course! Your rock!

Great job teacher! I love making cards and not only do they bring joy to the receiver, they use up a lot of scraps. Thanks for the great sketch.

Here's the first one, I'm sure I'll make more.

Thanks so much for this class. Love the video and loved the cards you made. The felt flowers were darling. I loved the idea of using the smaller card for a child's class valentine. We'll definitly be using that idea in our house. Looking forward a year's worth of cards with you.
Thanks.
