I haven't been paid for Nov/Dec yet... I tried emailing two different people and never got a response about it. | |

I know they are behind in payments, so I'm guessing you won't see payment for Jan/Feb for awhile. There are still lots of outstanding contracts for the Nov/Dec. issue and Photo Album SIP, that supposedly will be paid first.

I inquired about my payment for the Nov/Dec. issue and was told "We are currently behind on all our payables. We are trying to get caught up as soon as possible." They weren't sure of an exact date that they'd be caught up, but they were working to get everyone paid.
I hope that helps. |

Okay I don't feel so bad now. I was just coming on to post a question about this. I emailed the editor at SS who requested my layout and haven't heard anything back from her. If you guys are still waiting for Nov/Dec & Jan/Feb...I guess it will be awhile for me, I'm in March/April. |

I have projects from the beginning of 2008 that haven't been paid yet from CK Media. |

Jenn Wozab is no longer with CK.
You'd do best to contact Jill Collette <JCollette@ckmedia.com> she's in Accounts Payable. |

I had a feeling this was going on. That is one reason why I have not submitted in a while to CK publications. |

Hi all,
I spoke to an editor...sounds like CRG is negotiating payment for anything from Dec 2008 and older. But anything more recent (Jan 2009, Feb 2009, etc) is payable by CK and should follow the terms stated in the contracts. Hope that helps. |

Can you tell me what "negotiating payment" entails? |

So, who exactly do you contact to "negotiate" past payments. I haven't been payed by CK or Papercrafts since this past summer. |

Hi guys...I wondered the same thing about the "negotiating" bit. She said she wasn't able to discuss that...maybe because she didn't know either? I asked about whether I was supposed to contact CRG for payment details, but she told me that they'd be contacting us. I'm sure hoping for good news for everyone involved.
ETA: Hey all, I should mention too that I'm not "in the know" or anything. I saw the post here and at Nancy Nally's site and I panicked about some projects that were recently requested and due to be sent off shortly. So any information I posted about it is just from a conversation that I had with an editor to clarify the form email (same one that was posted here on another thread). I was confused about the wording, and I thought other people might be too. |

negotiating payment means that they are going to make you an offer. it sounds like 25% of what you're actually owed from those beyond 60 day contracts. you can chose to take that or not. |

There's some relief for me knowing this matter is public now. It's obviously information that anyone considering submitting to CK should be aware of.

Quick question on that 60 day contract thing - I'm assuming that since the LOs are requested months in advance of the issues being published, we're all in the over-60 day category? |

Since the contract currently says payment is due within 60 days after the publication of the issue, then I think anything that's been published this year would not fall into the 60 day category. |

Not sure if it's better to be in the current or past due category as it seems neither of them are very good. |
