During Winterfest there were so many beautiful cards with stitching. So I thought this would be a fun challenge for April.

I wrote a post on my 2Peas blog

Don't forget to check the little challenge box when you upload your card, it would be great if you link up your cards here on this thread too.

Hope to see lots of stitched/stamped cards
Thanks!!

Great challenge idea, Godelieve. Love your samples! The first one reminds me of 'pergamano'(sp?). The white stitching on the vellum is super & using vellum for 3D is brilliant! The second sample's zigzag 'frame' really works with this card!

Quick question? Is 'faux' stitching kosher for your challenge? I've seen (& done) various forms of 'FS' using both markers & 3D paint. That said, I love doing actual stitching on non-fabric stuff.

Hope you get lots of players!

OH boy! Do you realize I have not used stitching or sewing on any of my cards yet????? I've been holding out... Same thing with die cut machines, and bottle caps... You might get me to do it! I have a sewing machine as old as me!

Hmmm...

I love that the challenge is a month long! Thanks for the super inspiration!

Daniel, faux stitching can be used too, in case your sewing machine is hiding somewhere, or if you don't have one...
Machine stitching without thread is an option too, connect the holes with a marker.
I will edit my blog post.
Andi, once you tried it, you could be addicted! My sewing machine is an oldie too, but it does the job, so I'm keeping it

Such a wonderful challenge. I need to clear off the sewing machine cabinet and get the machine rolling. It's been calling me lately.

This may be just the push I need! I haven't machine stitched on any cards yet either. Usually my crafting (dining room) table is so cluttered there is no room for the sewing maching. Therefore, I have not hauled it out. I think I will need a whole month!

Oh, I love my sewing machine! It hardly ever gets to be used for fabric anymore! Love that extra touch sewing gives to a card. Fun challenge Godelieve!

I'm going to have to remember to post a card I made yesterday that I stitched on. These days I often handstitch rather than machine stitch- I often prefer the look of the thicker embroidery cotton anyway.

So don't forget the hand-stitching option stampers!

Jen, your card looks great! Beautiful stitches! Love how the embroidery cotton looks, framing the circle.
I haven't had the courage yet to print on twill.
Thanks for doing my challenge

Left you praise & comments, Jen. Your piece has a lot of style.

I'm not real keen on stamping on twill tape, but you did a good job of tackling it with your printer. That said, you might want to try stamping on cotton 'ribbon'. I've done it on various bindings & true (fabric) ribbons.

(Slight hijack) Jen has a thread asking about stamping on cotton fabric. I posted & some of what I offered might be helpful with this challenge to stamp & stitch. Other posts & options more than welcome. (end of hijack).

Although I can't upload (directly), Godelieve, I'm going to add some stitches to the stuff I'm working on. I promise to share the results however I can. Thanx for offering us a month of fun!

I've uploaded a stitched card. It has a sentiment stamp that was part of the fabulous prize/RAK from Bekzilla's WinterFest challenge, Thinking Birds. I am in love with these stamps!

This card needed something to tie the origami flower and the sentiment circle together and my solution was sewing. My machine and I are good friends No doubt more cards will get stamped and sewn at my house before April is through.

Thanks for the fun challenge Godelieve!

'real stitching', Godelieve? LOL. I agree--much as I love 'faux' stuff!

Been playing with chenille stems (pipecleaners) as my 'thread' & beverage can metal as my 'fabric'. Don't have a 'finished' to share, yet.

Enjoying all the posts & submissions! Owe some praise, but for the moment, WTG to all!

Hi Stampers! I've been hanging around the general scrappin' board since I mainly scrap. However, I got on a stamping streak tonight & thought I'd post one of my cards.

If you have never checked out Jennifer McGuire, ink - you really should! I got lots of ideas there, specifically the altered book/page technique. I really love using this. I had bought an alter-able book a while back for $.50 & just didn't know what I was going to do with it, well, now I have a good use for it.

Here is my Father's Day card. It's nothing fancy, but I liked how it turned out.

Hope you all have a Blessed Easter!

Here's a card from me with some simple stitching (I needed a card to send to the wife of a friend of mine who recently passed away, so I didn't want to add too much to it).

I hope to do some more stitching cards soon. I had planned to get lots done over Easter, but I have been so sick that I spent the whole long weekend in bed.

While looking for something entirely different, I came across this article I had saved. I thought this would be a good place to share it. Stitching On Cards by Stacey Kingman

Godelieve, I'm still planning on participating. I'm in the process of putting my craft space back together after moving it from one room to another--something I hope I never have to do again!

I have been looking at everyone's cards, and they are wonderful. Way to go, everyone!

Godelieve, here is my first attempt at stitching on a card. It's a true disaster, but I wanted to you to see that I did try.

This card will be taken apart. I will try again.

Thank you for the challenge. It did get me started, and I loved seeing everyone else's work.

Daria, you are too funny!! "this card will be taken apart"
I left you praise on your card, I really like your "shabby" stitches. I wouldn't call it a disaster. You must have spent a lot of time on it. I know you have been moving your craft supplies to another room, you must have been very busy.
Thank you

Godelieve, believe me when I say this stitching goes beyond shabby! LOL. I don't plan to give up. Actually the tension was fine when I began stitching. I don't know what happened.

My friend did show me the controls for changing tension. I wonder if she moved them instead of just pointing at them.
