I saw that Kandi said I posted this before hearing from anyone on their side. I feel it necessary to say that is untrue. I feel like my character is at stake there. I tried to resolve this and I have 3 emails from her prior to me posting anything. I didn't have a phone number so I emailed. And that's where it started.
oh we know babe. why do you think we kept posting? we can smell a rat thousands of miles away....and that rat ain't you!  I'm sorry you are so scared for Tuesday. I would be scared too. Just think about all of us posting our love, prayers, thoughts, and hugs for you. You will kick this cancer's ass out of this UNIVERSE! You have such grace and class I have no doubt about your ability to fight this fight. ((hugs))
on another note, I have thought this for a LONG time now and now is the time to say it....TwoPeas hiring MellyPea was the BEST thing they have done in years. She worked hard to EARN our trust, and earn it she did and during some tough times. She has always been kind and honest. She has, and currently is, representing 2peas very very well. I'll be buying a digikit today as a result of fabulous PR and customer service AND MellyPea actually being a part of us. I don't feel as if she is here because she has to be (and that may be the case, lol, but at least I don't feel it from her!) but she is here because she wants to be part of the community. I have felt less and less like the "red headed NSBR child" since she's arrived. Thanks Melanie. |

This whole debacle could have been advoided. Had you simply privately and publicly said SINCERELY I am so Sorry, Things were not handled properly initionally, here`s what I plan to do for You! (you finish the rest)

Sharon- I couldn't read your 2nd update and not post again. Please don't feel bad about anything; you've done nothing wrong in this situation. I will be praying for you and sending good thoughts on Tuesday and the rest of the week as you recover. I think it says a lot about your character that you can put yourself in Donna's place and feel sorry for the fallout of this situation.
Please take care and know that the peas are thinking of you during this very difficult time.
Kandi- I'm glad to read your apology.
Free Bird- I loved your story about how you refunded the bride for the photography you were supposed to be doing for her wedding. I'm sure she was so grateful. It was probably difficult enough to have to cancel a wedding, but to be out so much money on top of the emotional upheaval was probably overwhelming. You did the right thing, even though you could've legally kept the money. I have no doubt you will get your money back in spades!  Good customer service goes a long, long way.
Melly- I love that 2peas is sending Sharon a litte surprise! I'm on a budget right now and don't really *need* anything, but you can bet that the next time I do, I will shop from 2peas just b/c of this. I haven't shopped from 2peas in a while just b/c I tend to buy from kit clubs or my LSS mostly, but I will do so soon. Thanks! |

I get that sometimes it takes a little while to figure out how to respond to something that requires a change in policy. In this case, it really should have happened more quickly than it did. Sharon should never have had to turn to the Peas to vent in the first place.
Exactly. If Kandi had taken the situation to Donna, and Donna would have refunded the money and asked Sharon not to say anything so that people who didn't have a legitimate excuse would try to get their money back, this thread never would have happened. The OP was just venting her frustrations on a message board, I'm sure she didn't do it with the intention of ruining anybody's business. The way the business chose to handle it is what will do the damage.

I have only been coming to Two Peas for a couple months now, but I am awed by the camaraderie I've witnessed yesterday and today. No matter what dd and her lackeys say, this is a group of wonderful and caring people. dd should take note of how Two Peas and mellypea handled this situation, and perhaps rethink her priorities.
I for one will be ordering from Two Peas today.

I posted on the other thread that called out what excellent customer service we have here on 2peas, but wanted to chime in here as well.
To me, Melly didn't really have anything to address in this thread since no one was stating that 2peas absolutely would pull it. Just a few comments hoping it would stay around. It feels like she read the thread and responded with A+ compassion and kindness because that is what 2peas wanted to do - not HAD to do - wanted to do.
dd, please take notice. With nothing to prove and at their own expense, Mellypea did a wonderful thing. As a customer (and as you can see by this thread, I am not the only one), these are the kind of business decisions that can and do, effect my buying decisions.
I had 2 pending orders at two other "to remain unnamed" scrap sites. Both of them have been canceled and I am off to spend all of my scrapping money on 2peas.
ps - Sharon, please know that no matter where this thread has and will go, I really believe that every post is made with prayers and wishes for your quick and easy recovery! |

Sharon: I am coming in way late in this, but I want you to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. You have the power of prayers and thoughts to help you through this hard time.
And for the biggest skeptic around, it was good to see everyone banding together on this. We are a close-knit message board full of warm and generous women and men. It shows in the way we take care of others. We may disagree about many things, but when someone is in need, we will come out and help. I am glad to see that Ms. Downey has refunded the monies in question.
Hopefully, this will also serve as a PSA. Read the fine print in these "terms" of the classes that are being offered. If you don't like what you are reading (i.e. no refunds even if an act of God), then do NOT sign up. Of course, no one can foresee a year in the future. I understand about flakers. But no refunds in case of an act of God...nah, that would have turned me off in the beginning.
And as being the skeptic that I am...I am not seeing the sincerity of "Kandi's" apology. For that matter, I don't see any sincerity in Ms Downey's answers. But, of course, that is me.
Again, and most importantly, Sharon...you are in my family's thoughts and prayers on Tuesday. |

See, 2peas understands the power of PR. They did something they didn't have to do but was a nice thing and probably isn't going to cost them very much. And look how much business it just generated for them.
That's how to run a business.
I guess what bothers me most is Sharon felt she must apologize to DD for what DD did to herself. Sharon isn't the one at fault here.
Oh and just a reminder. You can go back and delete or edit all you want, but once your post has been copied it's there in all it's poorly thought out glory. Peas have learned the importance of copying posts before the good sense of the poster sets in.

I am pretty sure she is. between the cost of the weekend, plane ticket, and hotel she'd be out over $1000 if she doesn't go.

I'm assuming you said this out of exasperation when the fire was stoked again. But this really isn't about you and your feelings even though that's clearly what you want it to be about. This is about a woman with Cancer who is under a tremendous amount of stress that you and your company added to. Accept the fact that the final round starts with a heartfelt and sincere apology that does not include reasons why you're the real victim. Empathy. Try it today. |

Sharon, bless your heart. My thoughts are with you and your family. My heart broke for you reading what you had to deal with in the midst of your preparation for Tuesday. I, too, am wishing you all the best and a speedy recovery. You had nothing to apologize for at any point along the way here.
I've never been inclined to write to a scrap celeb, but felt compelled to leave a note on Donna's blog last night when I first saw this. I can't get her comment section to work anymore now because several hundred folks were trying to win a kit of some sort. But it is just unbelievable to me how she handled this whole situation from beginning to end.
Oh, and Kandii or however she spells her name, as well as Marissa Elliott sound like trashy high schooler bullies to me. |

She has brought back grace, class, and top-notch Customer Service to a site that once suffered for a lack of it. She navigates being a 'real person with feelings' while still serving as the spokesperson for a major scrapbooking business - I think that is something akin to splitting atoms in your industry, apparently.
Kudos to MellyPea!
And DD, just another quick note, you dropped the ball (again) when you agreed that Kandi's response was out of line but then essentially gave her a shout-out for having your back.
Um. No. At most she should have been publicly reprimanded and told to come back, tail between her legs, and truly apologize for besmirching your entire organization.
PunchPrincess, I see what you mean but I really think those twitters are something else entirely between CZ and Tara Whitney. I was going to post earlier, then decided it against it, but now it seems germane to share that I used to be embarrassed that I would get Donna Downey and Tara Whitney confused when they appeared in mags. For a while I thought they were the same person. Then DD kind of fell off the CK / SS map. Did anyone else notice that? It was like she slowly disappeared or something? Only to appear in some ad to take a cruise with a bunch of scrap celebs.
Now I can tell them apart. Tara Whitney is the one who
hasn't set her career on fire.

Now that is a great example of compassionate customer service. Melly has had her feet put to the fire a few times on this board, but I've never seen her get all pouty and "hurt", or lash out at her client/customer base. She's always remained professional and I really respect that.
I've been on a scrapbooking hiatus for a couple of years now, but I'm off to do a little shopping at 2Peas to show my appreciation. Guess whose products won't find their way into my shopping cart? Not that she cares or anything.

The only thing is, I don't see a "Marissa Elliot" listed on the Group Roster sheet. I was going to find her and tell her what an a&& she is.
I was going to do the same thing and then I couldn't find her either. Grr!

Sharon, as many others have said, I wish you well and will be thinking of you. You're outlook and personality from what I can gather from your update, is one of pure kindness and understanding.
I know you must have a million pm messages, which I will add to for when you get a chance to catch up.
