Thanks for sharing all of your graet ideas. I have tons of alphas, too, but fortunately they're fairly well organized. I just need dh to hang some hooks for me for my thickers and I'll be all set. I'll try to take pics soon. My sheets of stickers and rub-ons are in a file sorter with dividers that flip. kind of like this, but it just sits flat on top of my cabinet

http://www.npsg.com/flipafile.html

My chipboard, KI soup and other bulky alpas are in Iris carts sorted by color. And my thickers are on binder rings that I'm planning to hang on hooks on the edge of my desk. I found this idea somewhere, but wish I could remember where in order to give credit for the idea. can't wait to see everyone's storage solutions!

I'm going to be making my own clip it up. ordered the pieces this weekend. Hope they get here soon. Here's another link to a homemade clip it up (this is the one I used)

homemade clip it up materials

This one has good instructions for assembly.

I'll be sure to post pics when I get it done. I think I'm getting the IKEA Fira drawers in a couple weeks for my chipboard.

Can't wait to see everyone's ideas for this week!!!

Mickey- Can't wait to see how your Clip it up turns out. Such a great idea/product.. I just don't have a spot for anything like that.

I actually feel pretty good this week-- Back when we sorted paper I did letter stickers at the same time. I decided to store them in one of the cropper Hoppper vertical paper holders. I sorted them into folders by Black/White, One color, multicolor, and whimsy (you know the letters in circles, tages etc) And then I have 12x12 ziplock bag that I put sticker sheets that just don't have enough good letters to use!! I use those when I want to do a Ransom letter Layout.

I also have tiny letters that I keep in a wooden box on my desk, word fetti goes in there too.

As far as chipboard letters-- hmmm right now they are in orginial packages. I like the idea of putting them in bags in a shoe box. I do store leftover letters in a dividedCroppin Companion (again for ransom type layouts or if I want to paint them to make them match color wise) (I totally love the drawer units from croppin companion)

Wookie, I love your photobox solution. I think this is what I was thinking for last weeks too. They are on sale somewhere this week 3 for 5.00 I think I could get away with this.

I'm STILL working on my paper stash but making progress, working on ideas but making progress, and finding random pictures as I go through things.

I've been in limbo over furniture for so long and have stuff scattered everywhere. I'm slowly going through it all and paring down.

The boxes are on sale at Michaels - I'm bummed as they don't carry any of the ones I got last year to match.

I don't have many alphas so this isn't much for me. I have cartridges, stamps, sizzix and stickers. Should I keep them altogether?

Jo' right its Mike's. I haven't looked yet but i hope they have a green or neutral (black, white, tan) since I plan to keep this system if it works great.

I am a all like things together so I would put my carts with the carts, my stamps with the stamps. But if you think putting all alphas together will make it easier go for it, Jo. I just think that I would forget I have something if I'm not searching in the right categories.

chipboard and various are in mixing bowls and a big brandy glass on the side of my workstation

thickers in a basket

stickers in a bag in a drawer

KI soup get their own shelf in my cabinets.

now that I write about it, I may have to rethink and get them a li'l more together...hmmmm

Since I've got a substantial collection of QK alpha dies and a Cricut+SCAL, my alpha collection is pretty small. Right now:

Thickers, and any alpha or rubon sheets are with my color-sorted embellishments. I only buy white or cream rubons in very small fonts now - I can print any color I want, but "printing" white takes up a lot of ink and it is hard to cut and glue letters.

Rubons - I do still have some of the old MM and a few AC rubons that I keep in my tote for crops, in case I don't feel like lugging my Revolution. I keep a couple of white and black Doodlebug alphas in there for the same reason.

Chipboard - also with my color-sorted embellishments - I only have 3 sets (KI & Doodlebug, my wallet-weakness)

OMG - I just HAVE to share! My anniversary was yesterday and DH took yesterday and today off, and we cruised around locally to places we haven't been. I bought a piece of furniture today for the craft room! DH has to do some things to it ( it has glass shelves and he's gonna replace with wood and the center glass piece is attached and he'll hinge it to open), but I'm so excited! $150!

I was going to have a farewell party for the big gray ugly shelves, but I'm too busy planning how I'm stashing half of my stuff elsewhere (do I really need 10,000 pictures at my fingertips?) and staging my new hutch! (sure hope I can sell those shelves to off-set the cost of the new piece today!)

Woop-Woop Woop=Woop Put your hands in the air and wave em' like just don't care.. (I'm off to do the 'farewell gray shelves' dance..)

Thanks to everyone for the sweet sentiments! We celebrated 24 years and he's still buying scrapbooking decor, so maybe I'll hang on to him.

Stacey - I was going to do an old fashioned bonfire while I danced around it but hubby thinks I should sell them to pay for the new hutch. hmm...what a thought.

It's two pieces: a glass hutch over a bottom half with pull out drawers. It will not hold near what the other ones did but it's much more homey and fitting with my 'dream room' vision from week one or two (look how far we've come!). I will post a pic once I give it a once-over with some Murphy's Soap oil and windex (and get it out of the garage which is another organizational challenge in itself!).

Question: I have some Colorblok alpha stacks and they come in boxes with each letter like a mini pad of about 50 each on a sheet. I am storing my chipboard alphas in with my chipboard. My sticker alphas in with the stickers and then there are these..

How would you store them?

Gee, Hobbyaholic, that would be the kind of thing I would not be able to decide so I would just hide it somewhere! Ha, ha!

I'M BAAA-AAACCCKK! Miss me? I missed P'ing big time - but we had a great vacation and now I have to figure out how to keep my tan AND organize all of my stuff and scrap sometime somehow someplace!

'Cause now that vacation has come and gone, I have emptied OUT the overflow guest room closet in my effort to go back to Project Week and corral all of my MIA stuff! OMG - who knew I was such a failure at finishing anything@!!!

I will say that for Alphas, I have one of those 24 drawer "tool bins" that you can get at Lowe's or even Target carries them in their "tool/hardware" section. I have all of my loose alpahs in there - I think I combined w/x and y/z to make 26 letters fit in one thing. If ya'll don't know what the heck I'm talking about I can do an easy pix of it with my iPhone and post it. My sticker letters are in my sticker bin under Alphabets and my Thickers are in a Longaberger basket plastic liner and those are sorted by color.

So, that's my ABC story and I'm sticking to it!

Jo, how fun to get the cabinet!! Happy Anniversary. Our 22nd was in July and I'm like you. He's well trained and still supports my hobby so definitely a keeper!

Mickeygirl how's your room coming and did you make the clip it up?

Dancingfish, I see you are together and inspiring as always.

Oh - M's did have Iris cases 2 for $9 so I stocked up on those and they now sell those Generations Envelopes in a 10 pack for $12.99. I stocked up - I found lots of icky memorabilia buried alongside my sad lot of unfinished happiness. I am setting it all to the side.

I am ready for Ribbon Week - when is it? Are we doing Ribbon Ring order anyone??

Okay - back to the closet. It's one of those under the stairs things that kind of draws you in and turns you. Good AND bad.....

Can you believe tomorrow is a new challenge?

I'm picking up my son from the airport - his return from Guatamala, then heading out to a friend's cabin in Arkansas.

Won't be back to look/work will Wednesday late. (and my oh my ...my stuff is everywhere still and the new hutch is SMALL compared to my shelves).

Back home from a quick family reunion of sorts!! Wow leave a few days and I miss everything!! Penny so glad to have you back!! And Jo I am sooo happy for you!! I know it is just the beginning of your dream room!! (ohh and congrats on the anniversary!! I say any man who helps decorate the scrapin space is a keeper!)

As a side note-- I brought two scrapbooks that I have been working on for years that just have family pictures of our extended family at the same place every summer on vacation.. This dates back to 1996 so you can imagine how the kids have grown... and some now even have families of their own... anyway I brought the books this week-- and everyone had so much fun seeing themselves "grow up" in these books... makes me realize how important it is to continue with this challenge so that I can continue to add on to these books.

So nice to be missed!

The good thing about a cruise is your children can't go surf the net.
The bad thing about a crusie is mom can't either!

AJ - YOU HAVE GOT THE ALPHA AWARD! Girl - it all looks great and have fun playing with it!

I am still working on putting away all of hte p**p out of the closet I emptied trying to corral all my projects!!

I feel like I will never scrap again!! I think (HOPE) there is light - organized orderly lots of playing time LIGHT - at the end of this org train!

I'm so glad I actually have 1 week that I'm good on. I use 2 Ikea curtain rods with "s" clips for my alphas like one of the examples that Stacy had for us. I have my chipboard alpha full sets in their own ziploc bags and my random extra letters are filed by letter. My rub-ons are in a basket.

I'm still working on my scraproom revamp and it's really coming along. I love organizing and this challenge is helping me get everything in its place and labeled so it's easier to find. YAY!!

Penny - I'm still so green over your trip that I'm not sure I can talk to you for a while. j/k (I soooo want to go on Disney cruise - or any cruise for that matter).

Vicki - was wonderin' where you were! (Omg - I am really trying to not think about back to school yet and here I just noticed how alliterative that intro. phrase was ... OH no...already thinking like a teacher... I'm not ready ... I'm not ready!) Do you add pictures every year so it's a compilation of years? That's very cool! I've been really thinking on Stacy Julian's method and how I want my books reflect more than the chronology of a year.

I took my girls to this adorable LSS in Waxahachie that Penny recommended (yes, Penny - it was every bit as wonderful as you said) and made them pick out 'personality papers' to reflect themselves for a quiz page. They picked out some for their brother too. I can't wait to do those pages. Been seeing some quizzes that you give your 'subject' and they fill out info about what they like and dream about...I think it will be cool for them to reflect back on later in life. That's the kind of stuff you don't do when you just crop chronologically (although I guess you could make it an annual birthday thing). I also picked up a plastic mini-album to make my son's spanish teacher an album from their trip to Guatamala. I'm so ready to get creative!

Side note: the new piece of furnitures is MUCH smaller than the shelves so I'm a bit stuck again about what to stash elsewhere and what to stash in the new hutch. DH definitely has to make new bookshelves to flank the new piece. The skinny glass doors are not as user friendly as I'd like (but shhhh....don't tell DH ...) and I got off task from the challenge insofar as looking at each type of item and deciding how I want it stored - then storing it. I'm back to trying to make what I have look 'pretty' in the new piece and am forgetting function.... ugh!...bad habits are hard to break.

I'm sooo ready to get my son back tomorrow! I hope he's had this fantabulous trip and can't wait to capture his stories in a book. 15 days in Guatamala doing language immersion while working at a private school, running a VBS, touring ruins, learning to barter, playing soccer (his favorite) - do our kids know how lucky they are? I'm done pondering.... Good night everyone.
