Stacy, thanks for all your hard work and great suggestions...
Unfortunately my stuff is not available to be organized at this time.. packed in boxes and I have no clue where anything is or if I do know, I cannot access it... Purging will be my first chore tho.......

Thank you for all of the inspiration and motivation to organize my scrap room. Fortunately this week is fairly easy for me. I'm still trying to catch up on photos, patterned paper and kits. Most of my general stickers and rub - ons are on my clip it up. Themed ones are in an iris cart and the overflow in the 12 x 12 art bin clear boxes.

I'm a newbie in this challenge. I was coming back to 2Peas after a while away and saw this challenge. Decided it was just what I needed to get me scrapbooking again.

I'm so looking forward to joining you! In addition to doing this week's challenge, I have started slowly working my way from week one through ten.

If you want, you can check out my progress on my blog, Spread thinly. Ha! Feels strange to say "my blog" - it's got four posts - seems a bit premature to introduce it as if it's a big deal

Luckily this is done, I had gone vertical several years ago and choose to do all paper embellishments in Ch sticker "enve's" in CH paper holders and organized by theme/which is how I scrap. I found it is easy to locate while scrapping put away when I have made purchases or after mking l/os. I also like the fact I can pull one enve that holds all my embellishments, so I do not forget what I have.
I feel my room is sooooooo much better now thanks to this challenge and all the ideas. I actually walk in here with no pressure of a mess and can scrap not clean up.

Thanks Wookie!!!!!

Another week...another mess! hahaha-- Welcome to all the peas jumping in!!! be careful even on a week you think you are OK-- there always seems to be some kind of curve ball!

I too would like to say I am A-ok with the way I organize my stickers. I have a basket under my table with Generations 12x12 envelope folders and I have the stickers separated in a themey way (new word!) travel, words, Vintage/postage stamps, 7 gypsy, family --there might be a few more. HOWEVER-- While on one of the other weeks I found an OLD 3 ring binder with the orginal stickers I bought years ago when I first started. I will sort through those to see if any are even cute enough for cards--and then move and just straighten out the folders that I do use.
Can't wait to see how everyone does this week...

Now, I'm done with this week's challenge. It's not so bad with just photo box worth of stickers... One major improvement I did was to divide up the stickers in categories and insert dividers. Before I just had them loosely sorted and thrown in the photo box.

I also got rid of some long stickers that have hung out in their own plastic box. Less stuff to store, yay!

It's such an inspiration to read all your posts in the different threads. While I wait for next week's challenge, I'll read some more and perhaps tackle an older challenge.

I'm so jealous that you all are done with this week. I have my stickers stored in a 3 ring zipper binder but I can't zip it because some are too long. I would love a hanging rack so I can see them as I work. I might have too look at some DIY types. I don't have much room in my nook but I think I could carve out some space.

I'm feeling pretty good about the direction my space is taking. I have one bag empty and working on the rub-ons. I'm going to put them in the bin with the vellum quotes. I don't have many so that will work out just fine.

Hobby - have you thought about a curtain rod for a hanging rod? I had one in my old room - just mounted on a wall and it worked great. hope you find something that works for you.

Hey, hey, hey. I am cool with stickers, too. I have two of those 9 x 15 Cropper Hopper storage bins (which I think sadly they stopped making) and all of my stickers are organized by either major manufacturer (e.g. Jenni Bowlin and her cutie patootie labels) or by themey way, to quote DFish!

My rub-ons are in a separate cropper hopper sorter and they are sorted the same way. I keep them separate for two reasons: they are more fragile and I usually look for either a 'sticker' or a 'rub-on' vs. a 'Valentine embellishment'. I am usually looking by texture, so that works for me.

I don't do any of the Jolee's or small type sticker things. I do have a CM 3 ring sticker binder FULL of stuff I'll never likely use again and it's in a pile to eBay....

Well I went and looked in each of my sticker envelopes--made it all neat and tidy--actually found some mis-filed ones that I quickly moved. And I LABELED each envelope. That should make clean up that much easier.

I should take pictures....

Stacy, I just checked out the organizing blog of yours. Lots of great ideas! My stickers & rub-ons could use some help. Problem is my room is small, and I am running out of places for storage containers. I have 12x12 3-drawer sterilite that holds them right now: Top drawer = all rub-ons, 2nd drawer = printed stickers, 3rd drawer = label stickers and tiny alphas. (Regular size/larger letter stickers and thickers aren't included in this.)

I'm working on my stickers... I scored a turn style fixture from the Ben Franklin that closed in our area several years ago that is fabulous for stickers. I am purging and reorganizing so I have better access to and knowledge of where my stickers are.

I'll post a picture of it on my blog.

I thought I was all set for this week, as I stopped buying rubons several years ago after the HS and MM ones all dried out before I used them. But it turns out I have a few orphaned sets of stickers that I bought here and there on clearance or at Dollar Tree. And there may be a few more that I forgot about lurking elsewhere if I look hard enough.

Of hat I have found, I don't love them, so I think they're going to my niece and daughter. I just don't use stickers other than alphas and labels (which I keep with my journaling stuff).

Toot Toot for AJ's pix!

I have to say that I have cleared off the guest bed AND the dining room table and my projects are corralled ! I just need to label them and you know me - I am thinking: "Do I want to print out labels on the computer or do I want to do labels on transparencies or do I want to use that cute Bazzill glossy paper and do Cricut letters on that paper or do I want to do the Cricut letters just for my big ongoing album bins".... (And this is when I just melt down and stop and come P!)

OMG - the voices in my head are killing me! And I am seriously also starting to freak out about actually having time to scrap and then what will my excuse be since it will no longer be that I am OCD and dis-organized?

I SWEAR I AM GOING BONKERS! But, my rub-ons are organized!

Hey guys! I'm back from my friend's cabin and catching up on my son's trip. Thanks to all of you for your well wishes. Since a few of you asked, I"m going to post here hoping others don't mind. His trip was an experience that is almost undescribable. I'm so proud of my young man: He didn't come home with a tablecloth for me (I gave him money to get one as they were going to market to barter), but gave some of the money to a young man who needed the tuition for this school as he said this boy needed the money more than we needed anything (he got us some other stuff but is trying to keep the leftover money he came home with in his pocket... hmmm), he saw true poverty and yet found that they were happy cuz' they got to play soccer in the middle of the day and are grateful for anything they get, found that you don't need big money to be happy as a young man gave him a bracelet that he made for my son and it's his prize possesion from the trip, he discovered that random acts of kindness transcend any language barriers, and slept in a bed with bugs - and found that most of them there do also so he really appreciates his bed at home now. My hubby and I grew up in a border city and saw poverty our whole life. My son hasn't. I'm not sure it's something you can even truly 'teach' your kids about - they have to see it and experience it to get it. I don't mean to sound preachy, my heart is just so full that my son learned some serious life lessons. I read somewhere that people who go through near-death experiences have life changes - get this - that usually only last about six months. After six months, they go back to life as normal. I hope not. So hang on - while I could have summed this up in a sentence - there is a reason I got verbose (beside the fact that I'm an English teacher ). Do you know what I'm going to do so that he has a forever-reminder of these lessons? do you? ....... I"M GOING TO MAKE A SCRAPBOOK OF IT!

So keep up the good work here - it's for a bigger reason than the plastic box holding the 'stuff'.

Back to the challenge: I (sigh) am still organizing pictures and ideas (couldn't be done in a week). I did, however, get through a bucket of pictures at my friend's house that was old, old, old and had been put off for years. Luckily, my alphas, stickers, and rub-ons don't need much work as I'm not changing the system I'm using - just the container they sit in as I now need a pretty container for my new cabinet.

HOWEVER, I now have a new expense that I Have to Have thanks to : Penny, a.k.a The Enabler. She tells us all about the Scraponizer, and then tells me about this cute little store in Waxahachie that carries them .. and "you can check them out there"...So on my girls trip to Archiver's, I take my friends over and says "here's the item my new friend Penny from Pea's told me about" (after they raised their eyebrow at "Penny from Pea's" - it did come out oddly one of them flipped over it. This friend came over the other night to see my new cabinet, and as we discuss what I can use to hold stuff in it (some of my current stuff isn't going to fit) she looks at me and says, "you sooo need those cute little Scraponizers in your cabinet!" So Penny - a few weeks ago - there was a post on Pea's called "Wookiemouse made me do it" about how we were buying stuff & needing things for this challenge and we were just going to blame Wookie. Well, next month when my hubby has to drive me to Waxahachie to buy Scraponizers for my birthday, I am SOO blaming you! "Penny made me do it" is going to be my line!

Sorry for the long post (well...kinda sorry. ) and I love reading the updates and welcomes to the new members. Would love to see some update pictures! I'll work on posting some of mine, and you work on posting some too-even if it's just a system that works well already for you! OH - I love the re-crafted tool cabinet. Hobby - I have saved some sites where people made homemade CIU's and some are on rods if you want them...(this is what I mean by side-bars that distract the progress - during embellies week I spent hours looking on line at some solutions and homemade CIU's).

Good night all!

Well, Jo, worse things could happen besides being influenced by me. Check the web for good prices. She does sales around holidays (Labor Day is next?) and also she'll mail usually for a flat $5. Sometimes that is cheaper than going in person if you know what I mean.

One of my favorite moments in our family was Sping Break 2004 - we went on a family mission trip to a burb of Saltillo called Ramos Arizpe. OMG - it was a pallet city in some regards. We worked to build an orphanage out of cinder blocks. Tough, tough work but priceless lessons and memories. So glad it went that way for you all. Scrap it definitely. My kids still talk about our trip - which I did in a simple Picfolio....

So is anyone gonna' respond to my OCD whine I posted yesterday??? I am really feeling like I cannot make choices and scrap! Ugh!

ohh I forgot to add pictures Look here

Penny-- Because they are projects don't waste your time getting fancy with the labels! Do you own a label maker? If not then I suggest using the computer-- see in the end your room is going to be sooo wonderful that you are going to zoom through all those projects

Anddddd its ok to talk to those voices!!! Its those people who don't hear them that worry me

I don't hear voices anymore. I just get on Peas and type REALLY long posts ... and the voices went away. (okay - I was going to post that I see dead people, but changed my mind...)

Penny - I'm ADD so I hear lots of random voices. "Squirrel!" is so me! Can't help ya' there!

I've been gone all day, so I didn't get to do my pic's. I'll do them first thing after I get up to school to clear out a cabinet so another teacher can move in there.

Dancingfish, I love your little containers and how organized things are...but what really caught MY eye was the 'naughty' sign. I think we should all ignore voices for a while and pull up a chair while you 'tell all'!

Speaking of naughty, I had to take my two oldest to an oral surgeon for wisdom teeth extraction consultation... and one of my favorite LSS is right around the corner (about 40 minutes away from home) ...and someone needs to just stop me... I went in and found treasures! My latest obsession are these cute little shaped papers (not a square 12 x 12 but the ones have have cut designs on the borders) and this store has (gasp) a huge die in my favorite shape that will cut any paper or chipboard - for free! Guess what? I ran home and showed some friends - and we are going back this weekend! (this is why the organization never gets solved - I'm busy on shopping sprees - what the heck - school starts next week and all trips as I know them STOP!).

Kelly, I agree - that Ben Franklin find was priceless. I have rack envy now! ha, ha - a little Friday morning humor.

Thanks for listening to my whining. My mother appreciates the break. I have basically figured out the problem - or the bottleneck. It's my photos. I shoot digital and upload and then don't really take the time to review or print until I am doing a major project.... Part of that is time and part of that is my dying PC. I am getting my new MAC sometime between now and 11/20.... Until then, when I can dive into iPhoto, I am going to go through and find and print out some photos that tug at my heart.

When you have 14 and 15 year old boys, you just don't shoot a ton of cutesie photos that say "Scrap Me on that darling Pink Little Shoebox Scallop". You have "Why does he hate the camera" shots.... So - that is my scrapping goal - to unearth some photos that want to be scrapped - and I am probably going to dust off Stacy Julian's Big Picture book and re-read it. That's my story and I'm sticking to it....

I don't know what next week's topic is, but I am getting excited as the room IS coming together. Vicky Dancing Fish, I think I will "compromise" and make cute labels for the permanet projects, like Xmas album and Boys' albums, and do simple labels for the jillions of classes and events I've gone to and come home with bundles....

TGIF everyone!

Penny

Kelly - I have clicked and clicked on your link to view your rack and it wouldn't come up. Today I bothered to "look' at the URL and there is an extra "http//" in it. (so simple to fix...ugh!)
Your rack is great - and for $2! wow! And your baby pic's are so cute. You are so lucky - when my kids were litte, cameras weren't like they are now unless you really knew how to operate 35mm and my photos are sad. I'm hoping to buy a negative scanner and re-scan and try to crop those old photos for a few cute ones. Until you start scrapbooking, I don't think you notice how far back you are with all that junk in the photo.

Dudemans - (is your name Lisa?) I had to laugh out loud when I read your post! I have been with this challenge since week 2 and haven't finished week 3! I still have paper issues to resolve, buckets of photos (although they have dwindled) and idea sheets scattered everywhere! And you know what? It's okay! (I had some down frustrating moments, but mostly I'm thrilled at the process and successes).

You can do it!

BTW ya'll: I ran across the great site today for Cricut Storage (I think our Penny started it) and I have the containers and just went to Wal-mart to get the stuff: Cricut Storage

I'm hoping to finish this tonight, finish some idea pages scattered tomorrow and THEN read the new challenge!
