I don't want to delete the person entirely in case they write on my wall or something, but I don't want to see EVERY SINGLE game they play or test they take, etc! Is there a way to edit those? I know when you first accept someone as a friend, there's an option to check a box to not see all of their messages, but don't know how to edit now...

TIA from a total Facebook newbie!!

P.S. If I do delete someone as a friend, will they have a way of knowing that I deleted them?

Hover your mouse over to the right of their post and the option to "hide" will come up. That is how you keep them off of your news feed.

If you delete someone they don't get a message or anything, but they will know if they look around on their friend list to find you...

They will know when they look at their friends list, but won't get a notification because of it.

You can click "hide" if you scroll to the top right part of their posts, but I think it hides everything even if they posted on your wall.

Mouse to the right of their post, you will find the HIDE feature. I have all the lame games hidden. And half the people I am friends with because their posts are very boring.
I deleted someone and he sent me a nasty gram.

I can't remember exactly how I did it, but I put all of my friends into groups. I only see daily/hourly updates from the one group. If I want to see what the others are doing, I just click on that group.

My list of groups is on the left side of the page where they have small icons that say "Status Updates" or "Newsfeeds." At the bottom there should be something that says "More" and then you should see "Create New List" at the bottom. After I created the lists/groups, I went to my friends' list and started putting them into the different groups.

I think that's how I did it. I can't remember exactly and there was a little luck involved. It made Facebook much more enjoyable for me.

Good luck!

I did something similar, made a group of just my favs it only shows their posts on my home page. Then if I want to see everyone else I just click news feed and it shows everyone. It makes it much more enjoyable. I have a couple friends that are there b/c they are family and it seems like all they do is play games all day - yuck! Don't really need to know their score on this or their farm whatever that

Thanks for the responses! I hovered my mouse over the unwanted people/posts to hide them, so that seemed to work. I'll spend some time later to try and figure out groups, etc, but this was exactly what I needed right now to clear up some of the unwanted clutter! THANKS AGAIN!

Thank You Thank You! I just hid farmville posts-does anyone think anyone really cares about their fake farm? Now if I could only hide when people post random song lyrics I'd be set.

Cheers-
