Stacy, many, many thanks for doing a fabulous job!!! I truly look forward to Monday mornings and your posts. I have my punches organized on a slat wall, which I love, but I have yet to catalog them. That is my goal this week.

Lucky for me, I only have a few punches. This will be an easy week which is good because I have lots of catching up to do from previous weeks.

iSorry I was missing last week...I was at my last horse show. We just got back last night so I'm trying to regroup and get back on track with everything.

With paints & stickles, I'm good on the organization. I store my stickles (& there are a lot of them!!) in the 2nd drawer of my tackle box organizer just like Stacy's last example except mine are upside down. I don't have a ton of paint so I store them in my spinning rack in my window. Easy to see and get to.

My punches are also stored in my spinning rack in 2 baskets. I don't have a lot of punches so it works well for me. I do need to do an inventory of them though. I'm hoping to get that done along with the stamp inventory this week. We'll see how much I get done since we have our DD's baptism this weekend so we'll have a house full.

I.Must.Clean. BUT I'd much rather play with my scrap stuff

Welcome back Kelly! We missed you!
I don't have a ton of punches either. For now they are in a basket- but If I purchase one more I will need to find a new system.

I do want to punch out an inventory and measure the squares and circles. Because they may say one inch but they really aren't and I get burned sometimes by punching the wrong size.

Totally loved the Links Stacy! That one with the towel rod I think???? that was nice! I wish I had a spot for something like that. hmmmm rethinking the space...hmmmm

I guess when I am one letter short I know that AJ is hording it!! Oh my goodness thats alot of thickers!!! They look great hanging there!

I think I am coming down with something as I feel like sheeet...(sorry but I do) So no punching tonight for me. But I did want to know are you adding your punches to your stamped images? or coming up with a new system to document them? I am thinking of adding them to my stamp card holder... its such a success that it seems like a natural to keep adding to it. But maybe you guys have another solution?

Woo Hoo! This is my favorite part of Monday! Thanks Stacy for your weekly dedication to this challenge. I haven't read through the whole challenge yet as I just took a break from grading, but wanted to post a pic of a stamp rack DH made for my SU rack. My CM punches are in CM craft mate bags - that are inside photo boxes (it sounds odd but the craft mate bags fit JUST inside so I can yank them out for retreats).

Kelly, Kelly - I thought you had gone to the head of the class and GRADUATED! Good that you're back and glad that you're a little behind on something like the rest of us.

Vicky, sorry you are feeling bad! I don't know if I want to punch my inventory now and stick it with the stamps OR hold off until we do die cuts??? Because to me punches go more naturally with die cuts - and they all might live together - but I am going to have to ponder that one.

Never found the missing year of school portraits....Thursday night I have a SU class and in honor of PUNCH week I will be picking up 2 punches I ordered last time. I'm excited! I do love punches. I look at them every time I go out....and have a coupon burning a hole in my pocket.... Have ya'll seen the PEA who has literally EVERY MS punch?? I don't think I bookmarked her - but holy cow - she has an entire bookcase of punches - all standing up like soldiers....

Vicki - I'm sorry you aren't feeling well. I'm biding my time = little 5th graders keep walking up breathing in my face that they threw up that morning....uh...step back, please. I hope a good night's rest perks you right up! (too tired to fix my sentence ending in a preposition...)

Penny - are you in a club? I have an SU club class next week. What punches did you get? I just bought the scallop border and am itching to use it. I have the CUTEST Halloween set and I'm thinking about a little Frankie + scallop card...

Kelly - glad you are back and I totally get the I.must.clean. thing ! taking some breaks to check in here but tonight is a bust. I cooked, laundered, help DD with AP-bio and now I'm off to finish grading. Tomorrow is curriculum night at my school, Wednesday is College Night at DD's school so the week is already fading...into my parent's visit which is where the 'clean house' comes into play.

At least this week is pretty licked for me - think I will do a stamp inventory and be done with it!

ahhh after a good nights sleep... I am feeling better... hoping its just an allergy overload.. its Fall here in VA and that brings out all sorts of allergies.

Jo- Have you figured out where you are going to hang your punch rack? I am going to re-evaluate my space and see if there is a spot for something like that in my room. I don't have that many punchs but a girl needs something to aspire to right???

Penny-- good thoughts... but maybe they will all live happily ever after TOGETHER???? more for my brain to think on...

Any other thoughts?

I am really brooding over memorabilia. It is the one thing that I keep finding and taking to the far end of the dining room table. I am focusing on thinking NOW about what way I work with it....

The other big thing is the Cricut Cartridge scenario - there are certain "die cut shapes" on carts that I always want to use and have a heckuva time finding. HOWEVER I handle those will be how I handle the punches. I am leaning toward a DIFFERENT home than the Rolodex because I think of the stamps not as tools but embellishments and I think of the punches and Cricut as a tool.... Now I may just be whacked and that may be two kinds of apples vs. the apple and orange it appears to be....

But I approach their use differently, so maybe not. For instance, I use almost on 95% of my work either a punch or Cricut cart - or both. I stamp far less....Don't know why - and it could all change in the blink of an eye....but that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Glad you're feeling better, Vicky.

Stacy--

I haven't been doing the challenges, but I LOVE reading them. You are so great at finding all those different ways to store things.

I'm still at the point of figuring out how to set up my new (to me) space. The floors are done, and it still needs to be painted.

Your posts have helped me more than you can imagine. Once I get my room sort of put together, I'll join in.

Maryann pick up that paintbrush and then you can play with us!! hehehe

Seriously I can't handle these slow weeks! I keep thinking I am behind on something! Is there a week coming up soon that handles the corner of my worktable that is just a mess??? It seriously has no use! and I keep thinking that I will find something wonderful to stash there that is pretty and functional all at the same time!
At one time I was thinking my dh could build me something to store my ribbons on but now I just want to use up the ribbons on the curtain rod and get them into the jars with the other ribbons... Its a hard to reach area that needs something functional... See the black box in the corner?? thats what I am talking about! What to do????
ohh and that basket you see on the sterilite drawers --yup that is my ENTIRE collection of punches... not much but like I said if I add one more I will need a new system ---

Hmmmm Vicky.....Here's what I did. I took EVERYTHING off all surface area: top of expedit, top of table, top of counter.

Then I had looked at Karen Russell's blog for about 2 days. Then, I scoured my house and "stole" and reworked items to put on my surfaces that were either pretty and functional or just pretty.

I cannot tell you how much difference it makes to see all my surface tops visually PLEASING. I can get happy just sitting in there. Now there ARE a "few" things <wink, wink> still on my dining room table that I need to deal with - but it's deferred. So, I'd say this - if it's bothering you, FIX IT! I think it will make you happy if you do.

Wookie, I had that punch inventory too. Never finished it though. Hmm guess I better get busy.

I found that I like my drawer of punches. I'm confiscating my sons sterilite cart. Its a match to the one I have and separating some of my stuff. My cart is starting to bow.

I'm thinking of doing a punch inventory so I can include border punches too. Sometimes I just want to see them 1st. I'll see what I come up with.

This is another light week for me - I own 4 border punches and a corner rounder. I sold about 6 Marvy Giga/Megas when I got my Cricut. If I need a particular size or want to cut a particular spot, I use my QK Nesting shapes. Takes up less space, and I worry less about my daughter pinching her fingers. I do plan on buying more border punches as they interest me, but the bin I'm using can probably hold about 4-5 more.

I'm using this week to get caught up on the Ideas week. I'm about halfway through the scanning project. It's already been a huge help, since I scanned my Topics folder and used the ideas for All About Me layouts for Cathy Zielske's Me: The Abridged Version class/album.

Question for everyone - what week do you think journaling spots fall under? I've got a ton (that I forget to use), and I'm not sure when we'll get to them. Same with excess (empty) albums and page protectors. I don't see that on Stacy's list and I'm looking for ideas. I've got a lot.

chrismaris_mommy - don't worry about starting late. I started late, too. You'll find that there are weeks where you are already happy with your setup, or you don't own much to organize, so use those weeks to tackle an earlier week. And don't be afraid to look at previous week threads - there are lots of ideas here on 2Peas, in addition to on Stacy's blog.

aj2hall - I'm with you on the kid-proofing. I keep my paints on the top shelf of my armoire, so I'm not worried about those. I worry about tools, especially my X-acto and scissors. I don't have a new home for them (I sold my AMM tote that I hated) and I worry about leaving them out accidentally under the piles on my desk. Thinking about a tool box and labeling spots for everything so I can tell when its not back where it belongs.

Jo Love the punch rack. Where are you putting now that they ugly gray things are gone If you unmount your stamps, you could probably put it in that nook.

Penny - sorry you didn't find your portraits. You'll probably come across them in some weird spot, like the glove box or a kitchen drawer. Since you like the Rolodex so much, maybe punch samples out and add them there, AND add the die samples there too. You can always fold and partially glue larger die cuts. And maybe you'll use your stamps more WITH your die cuts. I don't know what to tell you with the Cricut. I'm also noodling around a better way to organize. Have you seen the spreadsheets that list every shape/wordart, etc? Very helpful for when you know you need something specific. Linda just updated them earlier this week to include the new carts. And I don't want to think about memorabilia yet. Don't make me! I organized it beautifully about 4 years ago right after our honeymoon, but didn't really leave room to add more (DUMB!). So you can only imagine the mess I've got now that I have two adorable kids worth to add to the pile.

Vicki - I totally have a random weird stuff bin, too. It's still over in the pantry/kitchen area of the basement. I'm afraid to look at it. I think there is some memorabilia, card stuff, you name it.

Hobby - I'm also confiscating stuff. I'm stealing a Target itso canvas bin from my daughter's toys to use for cardstock. I saw the idea here:
Target itso bin
I think this will help me with the lighting problem if I can just grab a whole bin and flip through UNDER my desk lamp. I've already moved DD's toys to a laundry basket

Wow, can't believe I typed that much!

Hi Bree - it's good to see you back here. (and love that you posted something longer than I do )

I'm just checking in and flying out again - work is SERIOUSLY interfering with hobby time! Maybe I need a challenge for how to get out work earlier (last week was 7 p.m., 7:30 p.m., 5:30 -only cuz' we had company coming, and Friday night was 6:30! YIKES!).

Vicki - You are always so good at sending your sympathies my way; this time I think you sent your 'I feel like crud" my way. (my started as allergies too, but so many people are sick here with Upper Resp..) I,too, have the 'what do I do with it' pile too. It just...is hard. Two things: first I agree with Penny about clear it off (hmmm...heard that from me before? ) and secondly - that space looks perfect for some kind of carousel or round spin object. OR... maybe DH could make some corner unit of some kind? Use that space from the counter all the way up to the shelf and gets lots of storage out of that corner! Isn't it funny how we can look at each other spaces and have a solution, but not in our own space? How about a new kind of 'Trading Spaces'? You come here, I'll go there...I would love a curtain rod to hang ribbons on, just don't have that kind of situation going on.

Penny - the 'm' word is a serious thorn in my side too. I use - well sorta use as I never seem to get back into them - CM filemates and two boxes from Container store with (supposed to be ) current stuff that we can just toss in there and file later. I sure like Vicki's boxes better.

My punches are solved - except that I need to decide on a few things so I can stain/paint my punch rack.

I already gathered up my journaling spots and any sticker or embellishment that I deemed "journaling" and put them in a little metal box that sits RIGHT in front of my workspace... I think I did it during sticker week or maybe embellishment week... not sure if I am ahead of the class on this or if no one just mentioned it But I can tell you that its nice having them all in one stop!!

I have my journaling tags and OA flashcards in a Scraponizer and it is on my shelf with my other embellishments. Because I do 90% of my journaling on the PC, I don't use those to "journal" but more for spots of this or that and so that is why they are there.

M's has punches on sale this week. I got a 2 x 2 square. Love it. Still can't find that blasted loopy one.

I have all of my journaling spots in a little bucket next to my pens, pencils and journaling stamps. Its starting to overflow, so I might need to find another one.

Bree - I asked Stacy about adding albums and refills, too. I think she was planning to add it towards the end, but I forget which week. I'd like to label my albums so I know what year they're from.

Finally unpacked 2 big boxes of miscellaneous stuff I'd been procrastinating sorting. Godd news - I either tossed most of it or put it in my sell pile for yard sales at 2 lss this fall. Bad news - what I kept was literally hundreds of cards (mostly from swaps when I was with CTMH). Now I'm dreading card week

I plan on taking everyones advice of just emptying out my little corner issue tonight and seeing if just adjusting whats stored there will make me happy. I have emptied it earlier in the challenge... but now I have new junk there hahaha

Bree, what do you mean my journaling spots? Are you referring to the small bits of paper to journal on? or stamps with journaling blocks on them?

vicky - the 2 tiered baskets look great and might be perect for yor corner. functional, but pretty at the same time

Since I've been in a clearing out and tossing mode, I decided to jump ahead a little and tackle some of my cards. set aside a whole bunch for organization write home. still have some catching up to do with patterned paper, kits and paint, but I'm making progress. And ALL of my photos have finally been sorted into 20 boxes and 3 albums with 6 photos per page.

Yea for you AJ! I am about finished re-reading Photo Freedom and I paid very careful attention to her ideas on Memorabilia.....

Speaking of working ahead and getting head starts, I think I am going to start sorting and purging some now....

I did punch all my punches last night and tape them into my little book I'm making into die cuts. I made the big decision that I am not putting them with stamps....

Well I finally finished my brad organization! Phew and yay! I put them into a 8x8 album like one of Stacy's examples and LOVE it! I'm now onto stamping all my stamps for the index. I'm going to include my punches and die cuts with them that way when I need something Christmas-y then I'll be able to see all my options in the same location. DH is coming home early today (5pm) so we can start getting the house all clean and organized for DD's baptism on sunday. The house isn't too bad so I'm hoping to have enough time to get all my stamps done before I have to put them away in my scrap room. They are scattered all over the dining room table

Yes Penny the rest of us did Brads and eyelets at the same time.. I believe you did it too!! hahaha

I punched out my 15 punches last night... I know not many-- they sure take up alot of space though!! And I measured the shapes and wrote the measurements on the punch and on the paper I punched.

Did you know I had two square punches that are the same size?? Both Marvy punches but one has the cute easy to use handle--- (guess my dd gets a stocking stuffer --she gets the one without the handle that is hard to punch hehehe) So with that discovery I am adding a list of the sizes I own to my datebook so that when I am shopping it won't happen again.
Tonight I am going to adhere the punchette's (word?) to my index cards And I think I am going to glue alittle envelope on the back of the card to hold extras of that punch (timesaver and helpful to see if that really is the size I want to use)

AJ- way to go with the photos!! that is a big job...

Kelly- Isn't that what dining room tables are for??? I have family coming over this weekend too (did they all get together and decide this was the weekend to mess with us???) so I am going to move my junk pile out of the hallway... I really hoped to keep it going til the end of the challenge and then do one last sort through it --but I am not sure how to explain it to the guests!!

Well, I guess I slept through brads.....maybe our vaca week? Good thing mine are all done.

I have had more than ONE set of company come over while my dining room table is buried and I have just pretended like it was normal for it to be full of stuff like that. Every weekend I have a goal to get something off of it. We'll see how I do this weekend - at least I have not been growing it lately.

Penny, it was during embelli week long loooooong ago.

I've decided that if I just leave my stamps on the dining room table and make everyone stamp or punch 1 item before they can eat then I'll be killing 2 birds w/ 1 stone! ha ha ha!!!

Ive got family in from the West coast tomorrow ( plus the in town folks) and I can only blame myself. I suggested my house b/c I didn't want to juggle a 3 yr old and 3 mo old at a restaurant.

Even crazier we just spent an hour rearranging the basement, including moving my scrap area closer to the lighting. The table is a mess right now

but I think I earned WW activity points

Here's my punches . I decided to put the punched samples into my little book that is holding my Cricut Cart scans. It's a 7 Gypsies book I actually had on hand that I found during week 2-3 when we did the pull out and dump it all exercise and I ended up re-working my closet storage into Sterilites. I found LOTS of good stuff that week. Have I said lately how much I ADORE this challenge and how I LOVE that it is giving me creative mojo again! Three cheers for Wookiemouse!

Go crazy girls with your cleaning and company! It is a beautiful "fall" day here in N TX and I have a clear slate! I LOVE SATURDAYS!!!!

Hip Hip Hooray for Woookiemouse.

Penny I love your drawer. Mine is like that but messier. I can never keep them all lined up. I need to get busy punching out my images and maybe making up some indexes.

I am not a participant in your organization series but I thought I would share not so much a way to organize punches but how to keep track of the punches I have. I can take this with me when I shop since it is small enough and it helps to not duplicate buy as well as finding stamps or other punches to fit inside the punches I have.
