stacy, thank you for all of the great info and links. I look forward to reading your blog every Monday.

My pens and pencils are all in buckets with my other journaling stuff. I'm hoping to sharpen the pencils and toss any markers that are dried out this week. and maybe take a photo, too. can't wait to see everyone else's storage solutions!

Okay, I want all of my "pens" together. I have to get something to put them in. I have very little space so It needs to be small. but exposed so I can get my hands on them quickly.

The wheels are churning.

These are my pencils. Haven't sharpened them yet but will get on that this week. I only have a few pens that are scrapbook specific--need to make sure they all work. I also have some old markers That I keep in my crop bag (it has those rubberband slots to hold them)Haven't used them in forever I guess I should see if they still have ink too!

I need to put my colored pencils with my other writing utensils but other than that I like my storage. I bought a purple shower caddy thing from Wally this fall and put it on a lazy susan turning thing. I have all my pens/markers in there along with my journaling spots. I have a bunch of Sharpies in my cropping tote.

So does everyone store their markers on their sides? Do we truly need too? If so, then I'm going to have to rearrange things.

I used Copic's and they can be stored either vertically or horizontally so I found something that worked for me.

I liked the idea linked best for holding pens, etc. I made one and got the idea from two peas Creative Cricket and Peppermintpatty. You can see both of theirs HERE

Like Kelly wondered, I too, have stored mine on their sides. I'd heard that the tips can clog and dry out quicker when you store your markers/pens upright. Not the best solution for me, I put them on a shelf in a ziploc bag in the past. I hate having to look through a bunch of markers seeing several green, but one green is a caligraphy, one is a fat tip, and I wanted a fine tip to write with. Does anyone separate pens by tip style? I went overboard and have collected.

Katie- Love that Caddy!
Pumch addict- That is a good idea if you have different tips to store them separately. A caddy like Katie showed would probably work depending on how many you collected!

Sherri, I have my pens sorted by tip. I went to container store and purchased these little boxes (cannot recall the name but they have red, blue, orange, clear with flat tops or built up tops) and I store the types in each one and keep them in my table top caddy.
My SU pens are in the case and sit sideways.

I haven't read the challenge today, and I am hoping to find some ideas for my colored pencils, and possibly watercolor crayons (the flat tin is not very user friendly).

My metallic pencils are in a case, but none of them are together (I guess since some are 'stamping' and some are 'scrappin').

After not doing much cropping in MONTHS, I'm spending my extra time prepping for a retreat this weekend (I'm actually taking a mental health day and going early. shhh!) so good luck to all of you this week, thanks to Stacy AGAIN for her efforts on our behalf, and I'll see ya'll next week.

Jomamastamps, you reminded me about my SU watercolor crayons too. I hadn't remembered them under this week's challenge. I have the original big set of them (60?) I think are there in the metal tin. Boy, those things last ages. I got them not long after they came out and use them often and they still look nice. I like the tin for keeping them in so I hadn't thought about changing them... What will you store yours in otherwise?

I have a pretty small collection of pens. I do need to go through them and sort out the ones that don't work anymore. They are all in my caddy that I got from oriental trading. You can see it here I'm sure there's a picture of it full in my space in my gallery but you get the idea. I have one set of stamp markers (i guess that's what you'd call them) and those are stored with my inks.

OT: I've been getting some layouts done and loving my space! I also decided that I wanted to display a few of my layouts and not in my space (b/c no one goes in there). We've never really decorated out stairwell so I just used some page protectors hung them on thier side (so the holes are at the top) with some 3M command hooks. I can change them easily and people will see them as they go downstairs. I am trying to figure out a way to make them a little cuter. I'll try to get a picture taken and posted sometime.

Mickey- Great news on displying your layouts. I think its important to for others to see our hardwork!!

I actually bought two 12x12 frames (w/coupon) with the thought of changing out layouts every month or so... hmmm the same two layouts have hung in our hallway for 2 years now!! hahaha I love them!!

I also have an acrylic frame I picked up somewhere that hangs in my scraproom... I can say that one has been changed once!! hahahaha

See now you have shamed me into going home tonight and hanging something new!!!

I like the idea of hanging them in the page protector that way they are ready to go into an album (unlike mine)

I just bought four identical square pen cups to store all my pens, pencils, brushes, knives, etc. in a row on my desk within easy reach. For sets of colored pencils, felts, etc, I use a matching organizer made to hold notepads / paper.

Thanks to all these challenges and blog posts, I finally reorganized my scraproom this weekend!

Photos (and closeups of the cups / organizer) are here: My Reorganized Scraproom

I have my pencils and some pens in an old wooden organizer tray (silverware?) in the center drawer of my desk. My gel pens are in a holder made from an old, thick-walled cardboard tube, and I keep my scrappy markers in a recycled bread crumb container w/plastic lid. I had it laying down for awhile, but it seemed the writing tips weren't getting enough ink so I put it upright again and the writing tips face down, brush tip up. The brush tip has plenty of ink.

Helllooooooo. I have been thinking about this. I really liked the idea of the X boxes that Stacy uses and showed - don't know where to find them. Don't wanna' go burn the roads to find them.

I really LOVED Matthew popping in and sharing his idea - that PVC pipe idea is amazing. Dunno that I could get DH to cut that pipe. I have been waiting all year for him to change my light in here and have been waiting a month for him to spray paint some metal cabinets.

Right now my pen sets are stored in those plastic pencil boxes I picked up at Wally World. I don't have an extensive collection b/c I do most of my writing work on the printer. My Staedtler map pencils are in the case they came in and are all sharp.

The pencil cases are in a drawer but I don't like them in the drawer and I don't really like them in the cases.

I guess if I had my choice I'd want those X boxes. Could probably get away with one.

The basic black pens are in my MM carousel on my desktop.....

So that's my story and I'm sticking to it. I did a LO last night from a Jessica Sprague tutorial and did my AE class LO Sunday afternoon/night and I am love love loving my space. I work, I get something done and I put things away and it's a beautiful thing. It's like I have a scrapping cleaning fairy now.

Guess what else? Today a little P order came with the new October Afternoon goodness and I had all my new stuff put away in about 3 minutes. Not too shabby.

WE LOVE WOOKIEMOUSE!!! (And I know she's busy scanning old photos for our amazing AE class!)

So - if I went out to Office Depot today could I find one of those X's?? Whaddya' think? (And thank goodness it's not raining here today! I washed DS football pants 4 times after soaking them in Oxyclean after one muddy football game yesterday!)

Scanning? Nope, finished that 2 weeks ago. But I was stupid and ordered hard copies of all my scans. They should be here any day now.

Anyone want to join me in filing over 3,000 photos this weekend?

I was able to get a pen display from a scrapbook store that went out of business. It fits perfectly on my desk. I don't have a picture to post. I will try and take one and post later.

I don't know if it was mentioned - but you can make pen holders with toilet paper or paper towel tubes stuck together.

GIRL YOU ARE SUCH AN OVER-ACHIEVER!! LOL on 3,000 photos arriving! And IF you get them ALL filed in one weekend then you really prove my point! ha, ha!

Okay - back to me. Did you get your X for your pens online at Amazon or at Office Depot? I am too busy playing with Photoshop Elements to run around time.

While the TP roll is interesting, it just doesn't seem very durable and DH DID empty the trash yesterday.....

DH is checking Container Store and Office Depot on his way home from taking boys to Bible study. If he can't find them there, I'll just cave and order them from her blog's Amazon.com link....But I am just uber impatient and like to finish the week's assignment IN the week....Tht's what I get for mulling this one over for 3 full days....

I know our staples carries them... and even better you can order them online so no driving required. We use them here in the office in our storage closet for lots of things!

I got two coupons this week from two different photo developers offering me 50 free 4x6 prints if I "come back" (guess its been awhile since I have ordered) so I plan on finally figuring out which prints I want to get developed from my dd wedding! I have this crazy idea that I can make one of those photo carousels from 7 gypsys--- I do much better with directions on projects like this... but sometimes you gotta take a leap of faith right?

hi all!

love the pen organization! esp the pcp pipes...mine are in pencil cases (I buy them at back to school time) in a cabinet.

works for me..as I also do most of my journaling on the computer..
and I do keep them seperated by type. metallics/ mica (oh, I love those mica markers)/ CM's/ SU's...

I also prefer to keep them horizontally...but love the look of them displayed in the vases and buckets...maybe I'll find a spot and a small vase and display my colored pencils.

okay, gonna stalk some more pics of rooms!

Okay....so maybe my mistake was in sending DH out looking for them! Either he didn't look hard enough or didn't look in the right place! I'll stop by on my way home - I have an errand list going already - and if not, I LOVE the link Stacy and will definitely go that route if I can't get immediate gratification.

Thanks so much! I do love the PVC pipe look, too, though....

Wellll....I am not getting my badge this week. I am really not yet DECIDED what route to go. I think I want those X boxes but no luck tonight finding them. I still need to re-check Staples....Ugh....But I also like that PVC pipe idea....I am wondering if I go to Lowe's and bat my eyelashes enough if they will cut the pipe for me in 4 1/2" increments!

And just think - Jo is on her retreat and doesn't care right now about pens and pencils! But just think, come Sunday you and I won't be unpacking the car.

You know I have seen people use winebottle holders and insert glasses into the slots and use that for pens--might be easier although take up more space for pens...

Whatever route I go it's not sitting out. That is my Mission Impossible on this whole trek. It has to fit into a drawer, closet or cabinet. So, the wine rack per se isn't an option. DH and I are going on a field trip to Ikea tomorrow. I am also going to show him the PVC pipe thing today. He is being so sweetly supportive of everything.

This morning we got my LOM Category Drawers put into their new home in my {studio} and agreed for me to keep going with my weekly purchase of Pioneer 2-Up Albums and photo prints. <Yes, Christmas is coming and it seems kinda' crazy to keep spending $ on LOM set-up at this point.> But, as I said, he is being super supportive. He even watched one of the AE Yesterday/Today class videos with me and wants to tell some of his stories. Okay - I am seriously getting off topic. Stop.

Anyway, he might be able to work something on the PVC pipe angle or I might be able to find some circular containers at Ikea. If not, come Monday I will order the X boxes. I figured they won't ship anything out today really if I did order those online today, so I am using my next 36 hours to finish my boots on the ground research.

It's a gorgeous day here and I am scrapping - back to my AE class assignment, which I am totally digging. Have a beautiful day!

I ran down to Waxahachie to my fave LSS yesterday and got some new Maya Road goodness, the BG Eskimo Kisses {so cute!}, a couple new stamps (mini's), and a little of the BG Eerie.

(And Vicky don't read this part about AE!) I JUST FINISHED my double LO for our week 3 assignment/2nd LO assignment and it is DARLING. I AM LOVING HER CLASS SO MUCH! Granted, I have been stretched to the nines this week grappling with Photoshop Elements. I stayed up until 1 Friday night and 2 last night. And at one point I banged my computer keyboard so bad that I had a slight blood blister. (But, boy, it did help release tension!)

So, I am either about to sort photos into LOM or scan my LO for the BPS gallery or going to start a LO of Christmas '08 or put my new stuff up. So many choices!!

It's so gorgeous here. I hope ya'll are having a super day. Still no decisions on my pens. But I will tell you that I am all ready for Die Cut week. As in, A.) I don't have any and B.) This summer I organized all my Cricut carts into one 8x8 Iris case and packed away all the boxes and made a little book of the box images printed out from their website. I'm feeling head of the class - ish right now.
