I am very disappointed to say the least and honestly hurt but the flower soft makers. They ran a blog candy contest back in November. November 4th they announced I had won! I was so excited as I NEVER win anything. The prize package was awesome and I could not wait to receive it! BUT the sad part is I have e-mailed them 2 times and posted to their blog 2 times with ZERO NONE NO response and I have NOT received any prize! I thought this was a upstanding company and this would not be a hoax. But I feel it was and I just don't even know how to explain how I feel! How would you all handle this? Would you just move on and let it be and forget it happened? I am curious about what you have to say about this. Please visit their site and you can see where they said I won. I went to the site and looked. This is fraud and I would email them and remind them of this. I would also let them know that you have this posted here and I would post this on any website you frequent.

If you do not get a response from there, you can turn them it to the better business bureau.

I don't support companies that run their business in this way, so thank you for posting!

I hate to disparage a company if it's truly a misunderstanding. But they must not even be checking their own blog, as you've left several comments with no acknowledgment. Weird.

Maybe it is truly a communication break down...I don't have any idea. I don't know if I would call it fraud at this point, as some people are just very, very slow to do what they say. But, I do hope you get your prize. They are having a new giveaway right now, so I posted a link to this post for them to hopefully come take a look and get things worked out with you. Good luck!

I would also try and contact them through their design team. I had a problem getting responses to something I was sending to tattered angels and I posted about it here on 2peas. A pea on their design team contacted me and told me that she let them know that I was waiting to hear from them, and they contacted me the next day! I received replacements for my damaged product within the week. There is hope!

Me and another pea were in this same situation as you are, not with flowersoft, but with Sassafrass lass (a company I will no longer support due to their actions and LACK of customer service).

We both won on the same blog contest. They had such poor customer service and lied to us a few times saying "they were sending out the prize" only for it to never show up. We finally hounded them enough (and so did others who didn't recieve promised prizes) that they finally sent it out, this was after about 6 e-mails each and numerous blog comments (which they soon deleted). Needless to say it was MONTHS later that it came.

I feel you pain on this one and the one thing I will say after going through this is don't give up. It's not the point of the prize, it's the point of a company standing up to its word and making good on it.

If they don't do anything I would definitely contact the BBB and report them. At least it will be on file if this happens to someone else.

Hope everything works out, it sure does put a sour taste in one's mouth for contests

AS a store owner (I don't buy from them yet, but was thinking of it)I sent an email to them alerting them to this thread and the tendency here to boycott. Hopefully that will help alert them too.

I share your disappointment as I am in the same situation right now. I hesitate to mention the website as I hate to create a problem for women trying to make a go of their career. But I have also sent reminder emails about winning one of their giveaways re: Basic Grey. Lots of promises from back in September...but then nothing. I resent my address...but then no reply. Very strange. I am not sure what to do actually. But I wonder if Basic Grey would be upset knowing that their product for giveaways were being "kept" instead.

Connie, do you have two different blogger accounts? I was wondering because when you commented on your own blog post it shows your full name (first and last) but on the flower soft blog it shows only a first name. Also when I click on the profile for the flower soft blog comment it's not the same blogger profile as yours. Maybe that's the source of confusion on the part of the Flower Soft company?

Maybe I'm confusing this issue with something else, but it seems like I've read quite a few posts about contests/giveaways that never send out the prize that was won.

Sometimes it's a blog, sometimes it's a company, but this seems to happen enough that it's made me kind of wonder how legitimate some of the contests really are. A contest gets people to come to the site, and hopefully they'll get interested in any products sold at that site. Unfortunately, following through on sending out any prizes won seems to be low priority in many cases, at least that seems to be the case for those who have posted problems like yours.

The screen shot is really good advice, since it provides proof, especially if the site deletes it and tries to claim otherwise once bad publicity starts making the rounds of the internet.

I don't enter contests, but if I won a prize and didn't get it, I'd be very disappointed and even a bit angry. I hope you get this resolved.

Ok in the winning announcement you can click on the date. That will take you to my name. Click on my name and it will take you to the old blog with just my first name scroll down and click home at the very very bottom of the page and it will take you to my new blog with my first and last name.

That might make it harder, unfortunately. I was wondering if that was the case because it seems like an easy 'out' for them. Now I don't feel bad for making that fake flower soft with styrofoam balls.

Flower Soft is not just a wonderful product, it's a company filled with the kindest MOST generous people I have had the pleasure of working with. Unfortunately, I had to take a break from working a couple of months ago. During this break the challenge was posted and you announced as the winner. I cannot apologize enough but somewhere along the way this was missed. I have forwarded your email to Mark Lee who will be mailing your prize.

I hope that you can understand and that your feelings for Flower Soft will not be tarnished as a result of this horrible mistake. I truly am so very sorry for the mix up.

I won a prize a long time ago from a different company and it took them 6 months to send my prize. I guess there's not a time limit on how long it takes them to send it. I actually forgot that I won and when I got the package 6 months later, I was pleasantly surprised.

I just got off the phone with Mr. Mark Lee the Vice President of Flower Soft. He apologized for the communication break down and said he takes full responsibility for what happened. He asked me if I would be home Saturday to receive my package and also asked if he could include a few extra items in order to show how truly sorry they were. I am VERY impressed with how they are handling this and told him so and that I would re-spread the word that the misunderstanding has been corrected once I receive the package. He appericated that and asked if he could again call Monday to check and make sure the products arrived and how I feel about them! I guess it just took getting in touch with the right person and ALL of your ladies help!

Very cool they are taking care of you. Not that I would have boycotted them without knowing the full story from both sides as I tend to be an optimist that believes more in there was a communication breakdown than someone not wanting to make good on a promise. Now, if they had emailed you and said, "You stink and we didn't ever want you to win a prize you silly person", then I might have. I do wanna buy some of the globe plastic bubble thingies (haha) after seeing them in your link, so now I think I will for sure.

LOL Kelly your funny! The globes do look WAY cool! I am so excited and even though Saturday is only 2 days away if feels like forever! I think I got frustrated because I was not getting anywhere with anything. Once people started coming forward it got their attention. Wow, so relieved for you that this had a happy ending!

Sadly, sometimes, it does not. I entered a fairly lenthy contest this fall that had a lot of "weekly projects", "terms" and "prerequisites" in order to be eligible to win the grand prize (this occured over a months duration). It sure was disappointing to see the "winner" had not even fullfilled the prerequisites. I didn't bother challenging the result of course, I'm not that petty, but it left a bad taste in my mouth for that blog and I will never return.

I hope you post what you got in prizes-pics. It would be nice to know that you did, indeed, get the winnings after waiting patiently. They did do the right thing in emailing and calling you w/another call to check and see that you received it.
