Hi all! It's the 15th, so that means it's time for another A Year in Cards!
This month's class takes a bit of a different spin on cards. We're making cards that have gifts inside. And because the cards are more involved, the video accompanying this class is a whopping 23 minutes long! Craziness! Anyhow, to see the class, download a PDF with instructions, and watch the instructional video, click here: A Year in Cards - February 2010 .
THIS MONTH'S HOMEWORK: Make a card that includes a gift. Upload your card to the TwoPeas gallery, select this class when you do, and you'll automatically be included in a drawing to win a TwoPeas store gift certificate!

Kristina, there is a problem with the first link on your post. It links to the January class and not the February one.. |

Hi Kristina! Just watched your video. You are so incredibly talented!
Can you explain a little more about the blending pen? The shading you did on the flower is beautiful. Is there some kind of ink in the pen? Do you have to wash off the ink you used?
Also, I just had to comment on your handwriting. It's lovely, I can't believe how easily you wrote "For You" on the last card. Did you always write that way or is that something you practiced?
Thanks for the class! I actually have an idea for a little gift. | |

aJerseyGirl, a blender pen is a special type of pen. The one I used in the video is a Dove Blender Pen (you can google it to find it. Unfortunately, it's not sold here at TwoPeas). Or Stampin' Up sells them, too. It's basically a clear marker. So, the clear ink picks up the stamping ink and you can transfer it to your project.
As for the handwriting, it's a bit of practice and a whole lot of years of doodling in sketchbooks.
Hope that helps!

Here's one that I made tonight. It's a sticky-note card for scrapping notes that I'm going to give to a friend that I scrap with. Inside is a pad of sticky-notes so hopefully she can use it for scrapping ideas for layouts, sketches, etc. I tried to model it after one of Kristina's cards, but it didn't come out as well as hers. I didn't dare try to shade the flower. But I think my friend will like it.
