Donna in Ga: aren't the books cool??? I did about 5 LO's this past weekend!!! I was able to flip thru the books get the # of pics and basically slap them down on the paper and call it a day! wow it was a no brainer! If I spent too much on a particular LO, I just left it alone and walked away and came back with fresh eyes! I bought a copy of Sandra Bullock's movie the Blind Side and watched it while I scrapped. had a great time!

I wish you happy scrappin' on spring break! we had our spring break 2 weeks ago.

I also used one of her free sample sketches, loved the results I got from it, and am planning to order all her books sometime this year. Besides the sketches being for mostly 4x6 photos, another thing I am liking is how they will help stretch my pp stash even further since they use a strip of this and that. Imagine how many layouts I can get out of a single sheet of striped paper with only using 1/2" strip on each page.

checked out the site after seeing the recommendation here. they look amazing and i am ordering two this week. i like the fact that it's only $5.99 shipping to canada! many retailers price us canadians right out of consideration with the crazy shipping rates. i particularly like the legend for paper recommendations! i emailed them with some questions - super-quick response and really nice lady - THAT is called customer service! actually, i'm gonna call RIGHT NOW!

I found the site and decided to give one of the sketches from book two a try! I was so impressed with how easily the page came together and how well it turned out. Give a look if you want...

I can't say enough good things about these sketch books. I currently own 3 and I have her DVD on pre-order. The sketches come together amazingly easy with the given pp measurements. I love that her style is nothing like my style, so it gives my albums a nice variety of looks.

LOVE LOVE LOVE her stuff!

I ordered #4 and #5. I took the sketch books apart and put them in a 1) binder with clear top loaded page protectors seperating them with
2) dividers with tabs and 3) by total of pictures in the layouts. It was pretty easy.

The 8 tab dividers were labled ....1-3 Photos/4 Photos/5 Photos, etc. until I got to the last one labled 10+ Photos.

I'm going to a 4 day Crop Weekend this month and it will make it easier to use the layouts that way.

I ordered the DVD too. Can't wait to watch her bring her sketches to life and see her mind process as she does the variations.

Starting today, it's "sketches week" again on the Allison Davis blog. She's using a sketch from volume four, and showing seven layouts she's made from it. Lots of great detail shots!

Help a girl out here....I haven't kept up with all the new (or maybe not so new, but new to me) people and such. What is the difference between her sketches and Becky Higgins? I have some Becky books that I could use but they just sit there along with most of my other idea books. Why this one?

Like I need an excuse to buy something else but seems this is the rage..is that all it is or am I missing something.. THANKS!

I think the big difference is that the measurements for every piece of the LO are included. With Becky Higgins sketches the photo sizes are there, but you have to guess everything else. Allison's sketches even include how far from the bottom or top some pieces go. She also uses a color code to suggest big pattern, little pattern, stripes and cardstock. This has helped me sooooo much.

WCD, I've ordered my books but haven't received them yet, but another feature of these sketches in particular is that she uses mostly 4x6 and photos you can crop from 4x6. That's how I normally scrap so these books are perfect for me. Ali Davis' blog gives tons of examples if you want to take a peak.

I've pre ordered the dvd, it looks like so much fun! I love how everything is explained. In fact I know I'll get more accomplished that I usually do.

I just ordered Volumes 3,4 and 5 and preordered the DVD. I printed off three of the sample sketches from the website and just love them. Looking forward to getting a lot done when I get them.
