Wish I could see. Most of the Michaels photos show for me as red x.

Thanks for letting me know, Linda. I'll try to fix that on my end if I can
Are the 2 you can see the K&Co. pad and the Jolee's borders? If so, I know what went wrong. Thx.
ETA: Sometimes when I get red X's, I right click on the X and Open in New Window. Then I can see it ... in case that helps.
ETAA: Okay, I think I fixed it. Please let me know if you can't see the photos. |

That nativity paper on top of the Christmas section looks really nice! Thanks for posting. I haven't been to M's in a couple of weeks, and it looks like it's time to go!

I too love your blog. Thanks for sharing. I have two michaels by me and one looks similar to that one and the other is the older version I guess. They did redo the aisles a bit though.

I love your comments about things that Michaels should do, and I totally agree. Especially about getting rid of stuff they have had forever....like the page kits...boy those have been in there since I don't know when. I can't wait to see my Michaels though when this is all in place. |

Interesting of course my Ms just got the really high shelves and eveyrthing I want is usually way up high and I have to get someone with the ladder to get them down. Curious how my store will change - love the Jolees border things. I have to admit lately Ms has had some nice things. I am not sure I like the themes - my LSS does that and sometimes you have to look though all the themes to find something because matching paper may be in multiple places. |

OOOhh! I think I might be tempted by those Jolees border strips. Very colorful. And, yes, my M's has recently lowered all the aisles and taken all the storage off of the top. It looks much cleaner and open.
Thanks for sharing the pics.

My M's is way dumpier than this. There is one across town that has a fab scrapbook section, much like the one on your blog. I don't usually feel like driving all the way over there to visit, though. I don't see any signs that they are re-doing the one near me, either. It's always the same stuff.

Thanks for posting the pictures. I like the selection of Thickers but everything else I will pass on. And what I find rather funny is that to M's the Christmas paper is new but my Super J's has had some of those lines since last October.
I hardly step foot into M's anymore. The only thing I get is craft items, holiday decor, and Martha S glitter.
I don't know how they will make my cramped M's look like yours. It's only 3 isles and cramped as is. No room for the standing paper rack.
Plus I dont like to buy crumbled up paper. I am sick of the kids getting into it and making a mess of the paper. I have seen plenty of sheets with shoe prints and finger prints. Blah! |

You can add another rule or two for Mike's for us. Thanks for sharing your blog and your friend's photos.
Pea rule #1: Make all of your Mike's stores look the same (new stuff for scrappers) so that those of us with tired, worn-out Mike's actually spend money in them.
Pea rule #2: Retrain all employees so that 40% off in one store is carried out the same in all stores.
I'm pretty sure other peas will have other rules, too. I hope you get the job LOL.

I went to M's today to see the new set-up. In addition to the new paper, they still had all the old stuff. I was not impressed by any of the new stuff, DD and I walked out with our 40% coupons still in our pockets. |

At the Mickael's around here, they have been organised by themes for a long time...unless I am not understanding. I mean they have a wedding section with all the wedding stickers, embellishments, colors (what THEY think a wedding SB colors should be) and the papers in racks under that...then the same for babies, school, travel, holiday, etc. Then they have a few lanes of just random single sheets of paper in tall racks, and single cardstock, too. They have a few smaller sections with the brands like k and co, and martha stewart. I must be having a blonde moment and not following.
I do with Michaels would price their clearance things to intice us to buy them...they will price a stack at 8 dollars. If we wanted that stack at 8 dollars we would have bought it when it was that price durring the 40% off sale...duh. Mark it to 4 and I might be tempted...LOL. Same with Hobby Lobby...it is less expensive to get the new things at a "percentage off" than get the clearance items, at times.

The M's in town here is fairly new (2 years I think)so I don't know if thye will be resetting or not. I will have to make a run over there just to see out of morbid curiousity I guess as I don't shop at Michaels for much.
I find it kind of weird that M's recently went on the Friday evening crop binge (like who is truly going to cart all that stuff in somewhere to crop for 3 hours) and now they are resetting to "look" more like an LSS. It is kind of funny that they think that rearranging merchandise and using different racks makes them more of an LSS. Most of us ar emore saavy than that... Recollections, rearranged or not, is still not Basic Grey or Fancy Pants or Bo Bunny no matter how it is displayed.

I have two Mikes that are fairly close. The smaller and older one in Brookfield, CT - doesnt seem to have enough space to do this set up. We will have to see what they do incorporate.
There is a newer and larger Mikes in Brewster, NY that has been transforming their scrapbooking section slowly over the last couple of weeks. I was there a week ago and I think it might be time to visit again. |
