Good Evening all,

Question: 2/3 to being finished, Wow. Well, I was feeling really good about this one until I read the Original 2Peas Thread from last year. Seems if you go to the 2Peas Shopping section and click on Die Cuts, there are an amazing number of things that are in the category

I remember that I have frames, tickets, borders, Bingo Cards and all manner of stuff. I think I will sort it by theme first, like Boy, Girl, Dog, etc. Anything else can be by type, like Journaling Spots, Frames and so on. I have some oversized organizers in a drawer that I can use for some of those. I don't think a binder would work for me.

Hope someone else is as confused about die cuts as I am at this point?

j*scraps-100 cans of peas on the wall... aren't you proud of yourself? lol...

now that you mention bingo cards and journaling spot, maybe i do have some "die cuts"... i had all of those things organized with embellishments-that's what i consider them, for one reason or another.

I actually did my die cuts when I went through my sticker sheets, etc. They are sorted by theme (kitchen, floral, etc.)and are behind my sticker sheets in my fake clip it up. hehehehehe This seems to be working really well for me so I'm glad I did this challenge.

QOTW: I have not really paid attentino to how far through we are since I only started the challenge a few weeks ago and have been dogging it to get caught up to the rest of you. But I'm really glad that I'm doing the challenge because there were some things that really weren't working the best for me, but I really didn't know what I wanted to change. This challenge has made me take a really good look before I move or reorganize anything and I think my space is becoming seriously user friendly. I've been having some issues with my hand and arm and am going through therapy for it, and this challenge has made me rethink how I can work with those issues and still enjoy my craft and my space.

OOOHHHH!!! *lightbulb moment*

I really thought die cuts were those cutesy things I bought at M's or CM when I first started scrapping. (All of which have gone into my LSS garage sale pile over time).

I didn't think about the rest of it.... But I did the same as Crisann. I categorized the rest of it as embelishments and moved on.

I have to get some scrapping done IN my room to see if the space is working .... I've been pulling stuff out and scrapping on the rec room floor the past couple of times while DH is watching a movie. The the pile of stuff gets shoved back on the floor in the scrap room when I'm done. Not very effective

kris74-welcome to my world! i was seriously thinking of the *ugly* solid cardstock things from back in the day...

never really thought about the newer "version" of die cuts, which i considered embellies.

owellz...

Hmmm, but reading the old thread I like the idea of putting all the journaling ones together on my desk. May have to investigate that option a little more I think. Right now I have embelies in themes or colour - but theres nothing for journaling so they usually end up in the colour section ...

don't really have much in journaling ones, but that sounds like a good idea! they'd be close to you that way-easier to see/use...

Well, it should suprise no one that I have them in one of the black photoboxes and labeled by type. (journaling die cute, title, etc) I attached a label with some black and white check ribbon. It seems to be my thing now.

Question of the week: Can you ladies believe that we're 2/3 of the way through this challenge? How are things coming together for you?

It's hard to believe we've come so far in our treatment, I mean process. I still must be doing something wrong, as I still pull out everything and have no room to scrap on my table. I do know where everything goes, so maybe that's a good thing.

nantini-it'll come to you! give it time. by the time this challenge is over one of two things will happen: either you'll be extremely productive and organized or you'll, at the very least, know exactly where your weaknesses are and then you'll be extremely productive and organized...

I have weaknesses?

Note to self: Get in new therapy group asap.

Just to ask, has anyone found a lot of items you are willing to part with now? I seem to look at things differently and have no problem putting it in a donate box. Before I would have bought it and saved it in hopes I might need it someday.

i seriously need to get a life, though, at this point. i've been on 2 peas since 8am... lol...

I was gung-ho the first couple of months. But I've been at a standstill since about, oh, Embellishments (whatever week that was).

And I find myself picking things out of the donate box thinking "maybe I will use this someday."

Gotta get back on track.

You and me both Crisann!!! DH asked me what I did at work today and I honestly have no idea. ACK!!! Will have to make up for that on Monday I guess

Funny you should mention this Nantini!! I thought maybe it was because my LSS garage sale was this weekend and I wanted to add more to the box or something ... But I seemed to have no problem getting rid of a couple of stamp sets last weekened because they were too similar to other (well used) ones However, paper seems to be a different story. WHY CAN'T I PURGE THE PAPER?!?!?!

My die cuts got organized with my stickers and rubons, I like them to all be in the same place so when I'm looking for a sticker I can see that I may have a die cut that goes better.

Right now I'm trying to decide if I should wipe out my computer and start from scratch, Its a three day process but right now my USB ports are all messed up from all the gadgets I'm plugging in to the computer. Its a dreaded job because I have to be sure that I've saved everything, which in some cases I've saved things twice just to make sure, especially my photos (I'm really not going to have fun organizing them after)

I still have some cardstock diecuts from the diecut lady... It was called dime-a-diecut, if you remember that??? I do save my boxtops for this group, a school in WY, and then share the diecuts with family. There are some shapes that we can stamp, crumple, layer,... and still make decent use of them! LOL

At any rate, I have them stored in a PSB.

I've been working tons of hours, even more than usual, so was glad that last week was chipboard because I did that the last time the challenge was done. I work a 24 hr shift today so better get off here and get ready for work!

I have all of my journaling spots and pads, etc. in one plastic container. Fortunately I don't have a lot so it is easy to stir through.

I do have some K&Co Die Cuts. I have a bunch of the little snapware containers that have the 3 tiers. Each tier is one set of die cuts. I threw away a lot of the lids so now I just have a couple of tall towers. I scrap at crops a lot so it needed to be something I could transport easily. Some tiers have chipboard letters that came in the little K&Co boxes, too.

I don't use die cuts all that much. When I do I buy them to match a particular line of paper so I keep them in an envelope with all of the other matching embellishments.

Most of the time I use my Cricut for die cuts.

Awww!! I love it when you guys pop in It's so easy to give it all up when we're *that* close!! Thanks for the encouragement Dancingfish!!

I was at Target today (US shopping trip with some of the girls) and found the *cutest* little basket for my desk!! It's long and low, perfect to have things out to poke through ... maybe my journaling spots?? I'll take a picture and post this week. I'm so excited for my happy green bin

Crisann - here's to a more productive Monday!! I'm considering the 52 card pickup... but I'm TERRIBLE at completing on line classes.

kris- SO AM I! That's why I'm TRYING oh-so-very-hard to get a group of us, so we can "motivate" eachother...

i'm just now getting around to doing the challenge of me classwork.

from my understanding, though, you now have "lifetime access" to your bps classes, which helps since i'm a procrastinator.

speaking of... this is what i've been working on tonight...

still planning on doing some more distressing around the edges as well as adding some patterned paper behind the chipboard "bubbles" and behind the kraft background, or something like that...

journaling reads:

fulfillment

n.

the act or state of fulfillment

the state or quality of being fulfilled

completion

realization

okay, i learned a valuable lesson... just a tiny bit too late... i've officially created 2 6x12 layouts and completely trashed my entire studio... no, i don't mean "kinda trashed," unfortunately...

looks like i'm going to be doing some more rearranging/reorganizing this weekend.

on a more positive note, i'm finally getting my layouts done for my "the challenge of me" album. that only took like 4 months. lol...

i'm two-for-two so far this week.

Good morning everyone!

So, I was trying to update our past links list and realized that there's something seriously wrong with the search feature.

I went back through and pulled - copied/pasted - them all by hand, but now, I'm definitely going to make sure this gets done every week b/c I'm most certainly not doing that again.

Happy organizing and scrapping!

crisann,
Thanks for doing all that!

Love, love, love your layouts...even if it did trash your room Maybe there's a layout we could do with the theme of "if you are going to make a cake, you have to break some eggs," or something like that, he, he. I know I always make a huge mess, but we should be able to clean up quicker after this challenge is done...right?

Thanks to all the alumnae wookies for the support! It does help!

Thanks j*scraps and scrappnbee! You ladies are great!!!

I just realized this morning, as I was updating the past link list, how close to done we really are... I know there's very little, if anything, left in my bedroom.

I mean, seriously... I just realized that after next week (pens and pencils), I'm on a month-long "break":

dies for die cutting machines - don't own any die cutting machines.
templates - um, if i don't know what it is, i mustn't have any
memorabilia - goes on my ribbon board hicky-ma-jig
negatives - when i started scrapbooking, we were already using digital camaras

so, that month, i'm going to concentrate on fine-tuning and scrapping(since i want to take that 52 card pickup class), and fine-tuning some more... maybe, even a good time to "alter" some things that i've been collecting for storage/organization, and preparing for "the great reveal"... lol...

i have an awesome idea for what i want to do to replace the two black desks against the back wall, so... that'd be a good time to do that as well...

I am uite proud of myself... I have managed to NOT be on two peas for most of the day

Last night I turned off the computer early because I had a qicked annoying headache. Today we ended up with a surprise sunny day so DS and I went flower shopping and started some planting LOVE days like this with my boy

So anyways ...

Scrappinbee - LOVE the Vissini's reference. That's one of my favorite movies!! Glad to see the group therapy is paying off

Crisann - Love your 2nd layout! Maybe making a mess is HOW you scrap?? (I know it is for me ). I look at it like this - being organized isn't ever making a mess. It's being able to clean up said mess in a shorter time then it took to make it I know I'm seeing a HUGE difference (in clean up time).

I seem to be stuck and can't get moving on this. I sort of sorted die cuts when we did stickers and other flat embellishments but I just don't seem to care right now about finishing that job.

I was scrapping this weekend and destroyed the bedroom again. DH has noticed he's sleeping in a craft room again and isn't very happy. Got to get back on track!

Stopped back by to say hi and report that we signed the papers for our new home today. Think the BIG stuff move day will be around June 1st. I actually spent some time in my craft room today b/c I needed to make 4 birthday cards! I don't think my craft room will be up and functional before I need them in the first 2 weeks of June.

Keep on organizing, and I will be back much later!

congrats angel!

today's the day... will post as soon as i get home...

i don't know if you guys read my post on nsbr last night, but i'm certainly hurting today, which sucks...

long story short - i toppled myself and the motorcycle... broke the mirror/cut my hand, so...

trying to work with one hand is no fun. not being able to do a whole lot is even more fun, but i'm stubborn and this thing's going to heal if it kills me (s/o is keeping an eye on it - said it should be fine)...

scrappnbee - thanks for being concerned. i'm "fine"... i'm walking/talking/not bleeding everywhere... we were joking around last night (i'm not getting insurance until the 1st of June) that if it ends up needing stitches, we'll just let s/o put a few in there - he'd probably do a much better job for a whole lot cheaper. lol...

but, seriously... i was panicking when i first did it last night, but in spite of the fact that it looked deep, it's already starting to heal/close up. s/o looked at it this morning again. my biggest issue with it is it's just a bad spot (back of my hand, right below my thum, so no matter what i try to do, i keep stretching/pulling/hitting it.
