I read this other blog called My Sister's farmhouse. If you read her, you can see she doesn't walk the old politically correct line.
She recently posted her experiance meeting with the PW. I thought it was pretty interesting..and I know there have been TONS of discussions on here about loving or hating her..so thought I would share her posts on her blog.

I don't know, to me it sounds like a depressed woman saying, "Waaah"...
Life is messy, get a helmet.

Like PW, don't like her. Who cares? I don't like every book my BFF likes, we are all different, and not everyone can be Angelina. But my life is mine, and I can't blame its rise or fall upon anyone but me. And my theory is life is like the ocean...lots of waves, you gotta ride 'em out.

I hope blogging about her garden can give her some peace. She just sounds so unhappy.

I don't get why she even went to PW's ranch if she had "thinly veiled criticisms" of her on her blog. ????

I read PW's blog (and many others) from time to time and enjoy them. I don't read them everyday and I don't hang on every word they type.

I just think it's kind of odd for someone to invite you to their home and when the visit doesn't go exactly the way you imagined it would in your head that you then complain about your host on the world wide web *not very classy*.

Poor thing, she sucked up, sent gifts and then got po'd because the love wasn't reciprocated in the way she'd imagined it in her head.

She then makes a sojourn to meet her idol and finds out that the woman is just another human being with human flaws and a real life with all it's ups and downs and dog poo on the carpet.

I read PW a few times a year, get a few chuckles, calculate the fat content in her meals and then forget about her for while. If other people LOVE PW, who cares if they read her? If you don't like her, you don't have to click on her blog. Sheesh, such drama over something so trivial.

I can take or leave PW. I have found a couple of good recipes there that I enjoy. I don't understand the rabid following that she has, but I don't understand lots of things, so I'm ok with that.

I tried to read the blog you posted. I didn't understand it or follow it. Anyone who understood it want to break it down for me?

Just for the record, I have no feelings either way about PW and I wouldn't even know of her if I didn't read about her from the peas. As for the blog you posted, I thought the whole gist of it was odd and then I read the head lice entry, (because who can pass up a story about head lice) and I realized odd doesn't even begin to cover it.

It does seem, based on what I read, that she certain expectations on how her visit was going to go. It also seems like the visit didn't go that way and she was disappointed. I haven't followed her blog, so these opinions are just based on those posts. I also read the comments and she and her sister have different opinions on how the visit went. Her posts were hard to read, somewhat over dramatic and rambling at times.

I am neutral on PW.

That woman, however, I am not neutral on. Don't care for her style or her content at all.

She and a couple other bloggers (not random friends) are invited by a high-profile blogger for a visit. And she thinks it's going to be all honest, real connection? She's naive and now she sounds petty.

I think they all hooked up thru blogging. When blogging was just starting to get big, and the PW found rechelle and put her blogs addy on her side bar, like she was promo'ing it. Her sister also homeschools like the PW does, and they had a connection, so she invited them all out to the lodge. I think rechelle was under the impression from the PW that she read her blog, and knew something about her, and they had cooresponded, and then when they got there, she acted like she didn't know her?? could be??

She is a very disjointed writer... maybe if I followed her blog, I'd understand her writing technique.

Interesting stuff... but in my opinion, she has mistaken her "values of authenticity" as "I have hurt feelings and I want to be validated".

I think she sounds like a petulant child because someone she looked up to didn't know as much about her as she did about PW. Just how many people do you think try sucking up to PW every single day, why should you have been singled out?

Also - I read PW's blog often and I think it's REALLY tacky that this woman named the oldest girl in her post. PW NEVER names her children in any of her posts. A little respect please.

I like PW. I've read her blog off and on for a couple of years now. What I don't do is idolize her. What I don't do is believe that she portrays her whole, real self on that blog. Kinda makes me want to go "Well, duh."

I like sarcastic. Our whole family is way too sarcastic. When my daughter was 11, she didn't quite understand yet exactly how/when to use sarcasm appropriately and I had to have a talk with her about. My favorite comedians are sarcastic ones. So, I get sarcasm. I appreciate good sarcasm.

What is on that woman's blog is not sarcasm. It's poor writing and in my opinion it's bitter grapes.

Rechelle the writer from My Sisters Farmhouse, has some issues with PW, mostly stemming from the contract with BlogHer. Apparently BlogHer has a different contract with PW than with Rechelle, and she's got some issues.

I didn't read Rechelles post, I used to read her blog frequently, but in the past few months I've found her blog stressful to read and not as much fun as it was in the past, so I actually just deleted her from the group of blogs that I skim.

Rechelle has other issues too I'm sure. I just wish that from what I read on her blog in the past and what I had last read that she was able to find some peace in her life. We all need a little peace.

I'm more of a PW hater than lover - well, more neutral I guess. But I digress, just wanted to copy this post by mysistersfarmhouse's sister:

We had completely different experiences. Remember we were Ree's first guests to the lodge, she admitted she hadn't planned well or cooked well for us that entire weekend. Yet, I loved the lasagna, the steak, the cinnamon rolls we ate well except for the lack of eggs. Ladd was a lot of fun in my opinion, but I spent more time with him and Mike and Clay. I thought they were genuine especially when we asked blogging questions. Ladd even shared with us some stories about when they were struggling financially on the ranch. He was open about their cattle operation and the working relationship he shares with his brother. And it's obvious that they are very loving to Josh as he joined us one evening for dinner. I remember specifically Ree telling you that she wished she could inject some of her "let it roll off your back"into you, because you took your comments and stats so seriously and at that point didn't like any of your readers. Ree even admitted to being nervous about entertaining us for a weekend because she wasn't sure what we wanted to do and when we asked if we could go help move cattle they willingly did that. Also, we didn't get lost with the directions she gave us, nor did Jenni and Danny and Ree gave us her cell phone number...I still have it. She also went and read all of our blogs after we got there and then came back and asked us questions about them. For me it was amazing that a complete stranger was willing to host us for the weekend just because we have these silling online sites... I really did have a great time.

Ok she doesn't like her. There are always going to be people we don't like or don't click with.

But it seems like she is butt hurt because she's not a famous blogger like PW, and she thought while spending the money to post some ad space or have linkage from PW was going to buy her fame but it never happened.

I didn't care for her writing. I kept thinking who cares if PW said "Help me Rhonda".

She needs to look in the mirror instead of blaming PW for the beginning of the end.

I like PW. I was a faithful follower and read her blog everyday, Then one day it was like she exploded and was everywhere and I moved on. It's like Duff, Emeril, Rachel Ray. I loved them much more in the beginning.

I quit reading PW a long time ago because the self-deprecating nonsense wore thin, her aren't I clever humor wore thin and well, just, yeah. I enjoy real sarcasm and wit more than toe picking and that's just not how her blog rolls.

At the heart of it, this woman just seems like an unhappy person, or at least a person with some issues going on right now. Keeping it real or not, nobody wants to go to a blog to read about marital problems, an unhappy vacation to Europe, whining about how she was treated as a guest, etc. I'm sorry she didn't make the real friendship connection she was hoping to make with Ree but quite honestly, their personalities don't seem at all like they would mesh. I hope she finds whatever it is she is looking for.

I can't stand Pioneer Woman. I think she's a fake and not at all interesting to read. While this Rechelle person is very bitter and sarcastic, I think she's way more interesting than Pioneer Woman's constant "look at me... I'm the coolest kid on the block. Look at all the stuff I claim to do (but don't really do). I'm AMAZING" nonsense.

I came across Rechelle's blog several years ago via PW (before she was a common name, 2006 or 2007 maybe) and followed her for awhile, maybe a year.

If you read Rechelle's old stuff, you could tell she was modeling herself and her blog after PW. She referenced her often and it started to feel weird. I also got tired of her blog after she and her DH finished building their home so I stopped reading. She thought she was posting funny or sarcastically about her DH and/or boys, but it didn't come across that way. I hated it.

This latest drama coming from Rechelle doesn't surprise me. I think she wanted exactly what PW has attained and is quite bitter about it.

I read back a few posts (I skimmed actually) and to be honest, this chick sounds pretty stalkerish to me. I would be really creeped out if she was posting that way about me, especially after I had met her.

She just sound really bizarre and freaky.

She (new blogger) should have checked her jealousy at the door. Her writing ability is lacking and nothing but bitterness and insecurities surfaced.
I like PW- I don't love her. I hope she makes a million $$ on her blog.
I bought her cookbook for myself and a few of my friends and have made lots of her recipes. Made one tonight actually- chicken with garlic and tomatoes in case anyone wants to go check it out it- was really delish.

I'll never ever understand trashing someone's blog...if you don't like it. Don't. Read. It.

That's how I felt reading it as well. What a crappy blog to write after someone invites you over. Clearly the blog writer looked at her as some sort of celebrity blog God as evidenced by the gifts she sent. Umm...PW sold you an ad -- you don't have to give her a present for that. she went there looking to make a new best friend. Then when PW didn't instantaneously become her BFF she comes back and dogs her out as basically being an ungracious host, stuck up, bad cook and fake.

How rude.

Hee Hee..I was reading through the comments of the third blog post by Rechelle that Cindy linked and thought this one hit the nail on the head:

To Heidi: are you kidding? Rechelle IS acting like an outcast junior high girl: she's dictating on her blog how every other blogger is supposed to write, what the purpose of all blogs is supposed to be and suggests that anyone who makes money at something is to be looked down on. She can't write an independent post, everything is a criticism of someone else's. She misses the irony in her criticism of PW's change of comedic icons, when she has changed from a religious nut into a 3-week atheist into just a dour, negative, poor, country bumpkin.

And to all those who say just stop reading, I say this: it's just like watching Lindsay Lohan falling down and Brittney Spears shaving off her hair on TMZ, you just can't help watching the trash in their self-created train wrecks. Rechelle is the Brittney of the blogosphere.

And if she really is trying to assert her blog/writing/style independence, perhaps she should have skipped the very recent post with the falsely self-critical analysis of her parenting skills, exaggeration of her husband's response and the blow by blow by blow photo account of her son's bike trip in the rain (complete with witty asides, ha ha ha!)

I mean, why does she care so much? So she had a crappy time at the ranch, Ree is rich and fake, blah blah blah. How is this still an issue in her life? She's still stewing over it? Or is she trying to keep interest in her blog going now that she apparently shocked the world by becoming an atheist? I don't know if it's sour grapes, an identity crisis or what but something is really off with all of that.

ETA: And did she really not contact her to let her know that yes, in fact, she did have head lice when she visited her home, slept in her bed, wore her family's cowboy hats, etc? Rude doesn't even begin to cover that decision.

Yeah, I don't love or hate PW either. As a single chick usually cooking for 1, I've never made her recipes -- too much work, calories and food for 1. I did get her cookbook as a Christmas Present. I have read her blog maybe 5 times. So I'm totally neutral on her.

I agree with Rechelle's assessment that PW is all about marketing at this point. I guess my confusion is -- why is that a problem? From my perspective she started as an everyday mom, who had $$ but was isolated, and decided to try her hand at something she enjoyed -- writing and cooking, and breaking down into simple steps with photos. She started documenting this all on the internet. That has blossomed into her becoming a celebrity and writing cookbooks, etc.

So now she's a famous blogger that has even more money. She's a marketing genius. I just don't understand why Rechelle is so bothered by that -- other than pure jealousy.

I've been on Rechelle's blog a few times. She IS a bitter old cow. But if she thinks Ree was using her to try to get blog posts/hits (brilliant btw) then Rechelle really should be made aware that she's using Ree too. Anyone knows, that continued posts about Ree/Ladd and the kids will bring a virtual orgasm of traffic to your blog. The more she posts about Ree, the more she'll get traffic off of her.

I'm a PW fan. I like that it's easy reading, her humor makes me smile, not belly laugh. I admire that she has an interesting life, but wouldn't want to live it, even with the money. Sure, I would love the traffic she has, but I'm not ready to give up Christ over it, or slit my wrists like Rechelle seems to have done. I post comments to Ree's blog frequently, and link up my blog.

I get frequent hits from Wamego (which is where Rechelle is from apparently). I didn't know that until now. Funny thing is, I thought those were all my husband's ex wife. Now I wonder. Since they both live in the same town, I wonder if they know each other. Such a small town for 2 gigantic asshole egos.

That's a great blog, Cindy - 'My Sister's Farmhouse'. I really enjoyed reading it today. I thought it was nice that she went to hear Nate Phelps, and spoke so well of him.

I'm totally indifferent to Pioneer Woman, having never visited her site.

Wow...jealousy is rampant AND she lost her faith and became an atheist all because of the down hill spiral that started with Ree Drummond? Get real!

Wow. I do enjoy Pioneer Woman, but only for the recipes. I even bought her cookbook and really enjoyed it. Rechelle, on the other hand, was very bitter and too hard to read. I love sarcasm and my entire family uses it constantly. But her bitterness is so overpowering in her posts that it is not the least bit enjoyable.

Totally bumping this thread because someone linked this thread on Rechelle's blog. LOL.

BTW Rechelle, I thought you promised you were going to talk about flowers and cucumbers and shit. Most of the last posts are still..... bitching about Ree.

I guess it makes for good traffic if nothing else.
