I got the "exclusive" invite, and I've never bought a single thing directly from Cricut I had to register for the Rewards to use my rewards I got from carts and gypsy I bought elsewhere. So I've never directly handed them anything but shipping for Rewards carts. Their idea of 'top 3' leaves me wondering, LOL.
A resounding "NO WAY" from me on this blunder, PC! |

if you were lucky enough to be invited, which I suspect most of you were not
This cracks me up I don't even own a cricut but I guess I managed to leave my e-mail address somewhere on their site somehow while researching different systems and I too was one of the "LUCKY" ones. Too funny
Even if I owned one I hate the idea of exclusive carts. If I have bought your product I should have access to all the accessories that go with it. I hate the idea of Walmart exclusives as I refuse to shop at Wlamart but exclusives straight form the company that you have to pay for is even more ridiculous |

I have a funny feeling the vast majority of the "invitees" are Gyspy owners. It says that a cart will be shipped to you with your welcome packet and that one will "be available to you" at each quarter.
I don't see it says those are physical carts, wonder is downloadable carts are in the future and that's why so many weren't invited.
I have spent a fortune w/PC, but the buck sure stopped here. I am off to return anything and everything that isn't opened and I have a receipt for or could get a store credit.
PC want's exclusivity, they got it. I just hope a circle spends my share w/PC cause I'm done with them.

I am normally just troll on these message boards and dont post, but I cannot believe the negativity that all of you people have towards everything. If anyone completely read what was sent to you (if you were lucky enough to be invited, which I suspect most of you were not) there are many additional offers and events being reveled later, this was just the preliminary Charter Membership they are starting with. This may be something that turns out to be totally awesome, great, positive and fun. Ok so you dont want to join... then dont! There are a lot of us looking to be a member of the fun and you cant put us down. "We hate Provo Craft because they are trying to come up with a community that has something new and fun. Why dont you wait and see what is to come until you pass judgment? All those people that have already joined the Circle GREAT! I look forward to getting to know you true Cricut supporters.

Don't waste time trying to defend it. Tell management it's not working and do something else.
BTW, I don't own a gypsy, I own a 4 yr old first generation Cricut...and I got an "exclusive" invite.

I kinda felt insulted to be invited to the exclusive club and shell out $279.00 bucks per year. And understand it is a per year charge. For all the money I have shelled out for Cricut products over the years they should give me the darn membership for free for a year. Then I could see if its worth the money to be a part of it in the future. I would also like to see the carts that I would be getting for my hard earned money. All in all I was turned off by the whole thing.

I received the invite and was interested until I saw the price I certainly can't afford the $279 for a year. I wonder how many actual members they will get with a price like this.

I truly was dumbfounded at the stupidity of this...what an idiotic idea to turn off their customer base. I was naive enough to actually click into the thing far enough before I saw the inflated prices and just stared for awhile trying to digest the suggestion that I'd want to spend almost $300. I have found a lot of what they do confusing and disappointing with their rewards program...but this latest fiasco should get someone fired.

I'm with the majority of y'all! How much do you want to bet we will see the carts being revealed and not be able to copy those same images with svg files for at least 60% of the images???? most of the cricut fonts have been copied/mimicked rather quickly and easily! I don't understand,.... why, of all things PC has our demographics that they would think an "in circle" and a stupid charm bracelet would be attractive at this time in our lives????
perhaps they are marketing this idea to 12 year olds and we "accidentally" got the email?????

Its not exclusive to Cricut special fans if all you had to do was register your product????
If its only going to get better with time... maybe its best just to wait and see??? hahaha I have never known a big company to turn down money--trust me they will be hawking this for some time--- You send enough emails and they will get some poor schmuck to shell out the $$--- and the rest of us IF WE HAVE TO HAVE it will get the bracelet and carts on ebay--- because we all know everything lands on ebay....
I am not sure why my blood is boiling over this company-- between them shacking up with walmart-- and ignoring their customers who own design studio--and ignoring the whole possibility of offering images in a download form I just don't want them to get another dime.... I seriously might consider jumping ship to the silouette.... hey they have better designers too... |

In addition to posting here, everyone who was invited to join and is offended should email Cricut. I did. Not that they'll care, but I felt better for telling them how I felt.
Do they even HAVE a Marketing Manager? I'm guessing not. I think someone let their 12-year-old make this decision. |

So many of you got the invitation and don't want it. I just browsed on the Cricut boards and someone posted the following message w./ the title "I'm done." Looks like it's real! Hard for me to fathom that kind of upset over a marketing ploy:
I am so sorry, I feel like a little kid. But for some reason I feel so left out and hurt over not being invited to the "Circle" that I cannot bear to come back on the board. I am happy for all you that were invited and are joining, but it is just to sad to know that after all I have invested time, money and emotion into my PC stuff, I am still not one of the "TOP" girls. I just can't keep coming on here reading about it. It's like rubbing salt into a wound. So after all these years, I have to say goodbye. Goodbye

Yeah, I think the Cricut laid an egg with this idea.... What really got the Squarelets going is the fact that so many patrons who have spent countless dollars and own tons of ProvoCraft equipment were not included in the exclusive invitation! This has made so many people mad. ProvoCraft has issued subsequent statements to the tune of 'we didn't mean it this way'..... I think they're reeling right now! Major meltdown! |

So, I have 2 count that 1 2 Cricut exspressions, the gypsy, and over 30 cartridges, and 12 solution cartridges and over 2000 points. Uhm I never recieved an email EVER, but the first email I put to just look up stuff about cricut with over a year and a half ago got a TOP 3% email. weird weird weird. I have already spent over 1000$ there is no way I would pay around 300 for a exclusive membership I should get it for free with how much I have already spent on and at PC website...Hopefully the price will drop soon... I got the invite the first go around and I have only ever registered my Expression. I do have some carts, but have not registered any of them- I think the top 3% was completely random and I am sure it was way more than 3% that got the invite.
That being said, I think this is a ridiculous idea- no way would I pay over $300.00 for the 4 carts- especially sight unseen. The other "benefits" of being a CC member are just silly to me- and I would LOVE to know how many people really signed up for it.
I also can't believe that they are upping the price and lessening the benefits for people that sign up AFTER all the information has actually been revealed. By information, I mean, the actual circumstances and locations of the circlet meetings, the cartridges, etc. Clearly they are trying to drive up the hype and get people to sign up for a non-refundable fee before they actually know what they are getting. |

I got one. Seriously, I think everyone got one. That 3% bullcrap is exactly that.
I love my Cricut. Love it.
I'm sick of Provocraft, though. This circle thing is crap, the bundled with new expressions is crap, the certain store exclusives are crap. I'm about ready to call it quits on this company on principle. As much as it kills me, it might be time to look at other options for die-cutting. I agree with you Artbabe!
I don't even have to state that I own tons of Cricut stuff to back up the fact that I'm too intelligent and savy to fall over this next marketing ploy to separate me from my hard earned money. I'll spend my cash on carts that I like and want. I'm going with the old adage " There's a sucker born every minute!"

The only thing that I can think of about the 3% thing is that possibly only 3% of their customers (based on sales) have registered their Cricut products. So maybe the invites went to anyone that created an account on their website and checked the box allowing email promotions, etc. But who knows.
Anyway, there's no way I'd give PC $300 without knowing what I'm getting. There is a lot of excitement about this over on the Cricut message boards. People are excited about the "galas" and other special events. I don't really understand that, because none of that is included in their membership fee. Their $300 gives them the privilege of spending more money on galas.
The circle members are going to be used a lot for market research like focus groups, etc. I used to work for a market research company years ago, and we paid people to participate in market research. Provocraft brilliantly got people to pay them for doing market research. Amazing.
