I'm reading the epic thread. I'm only on page 7.
After a few attempts to place the blame for this mess on the OP and instructing her to keep the situation quiet, Donna finally comes back on page 6 to apologize and do the right thing and let everyone know she refunded the OP because of her medical necessity. People are now thanking her for doing the right thing. So I'm just wondering how it got to 22 pages, if at this point it all seems taken care of.
Off to read what happened.

There's a thread about it over on the GS board. DD is teaching a class online and the total amount for the project kits is around $300. That brought up comments about why people wouldn't pay her a dime, and then the story was re...hmmmm...reviewed.

IIRC, it was dying down and a minion of DD's came on to chastise the mean peas and whipped up a shit storm. Or re-whipped it, as the case may be. Then DD came back and said something like "here's round two" or some such. |

OP, if there's a really long thread and I want to know how it turned out I usually start at the last page and work my way back. That might be helpful & keep you from spending hours on that thread.

Why bring this up NOW??
I'm the pea who asked about it a couple of days ago.
In the scrapbooking forum a pea asked if anyone was taking DD's new Big Picture Scrapbooking class. A few peas commented on how expensive it is (the class itself is $$, then if you buy the kits of class materials they are an additional $300 and STILL don't include everything you need). In response to that question TreeLover posted this:
I am utterly shocked, the biggest sham in scrapping is wanting 300 dollars for materials in addition to her classes? She is a horrid, awful, terrible woman and it pains me to know anyone would ever have her teach them anything when there are so many good, decent, talented people out there.
That got my attention, so I asked where it came from. I had heard references to DD drama here before, but had not heard the story. I didn't get an answer right away, so I posted a "what happend with DD" thread on this board and some peas linked the old thread.
The Pea involved in the original DD drama (the pea who had cancer) came on the scrapbooking thread and gave some details and told us how she feels about the whole thing now.
And that she says that she is doing better healthwise.
Personally, I am kind of glad it came up. I think it's important for people to know these kinds of things before they fork over big bucks to a business.

Let's add that Sharon also provided information, that she didn't want to share last year. That when DD called to refund her Sharon felt compelled to apologize for the thread. DD then scolded her,by saying Sharon brought it on for coming here. WTF! Like DD just couldn't have called, refunded her money and showed some empathy. But instead still wanted to be an ass. That woman has not one ounce of empathy proven by that thread and the updated news of the phone call |

On page 14 a "new" poster comes on and claims how embarrassed she is for everyone for being mean to "this Donna woman".
Oh, come oooon!
Wouldn't you think a new poster reading that thread would take notice of and be proud of how everyone banded together to support a fellow pea and how melly stepped up to help ease the stress in light of how awful "this Donna woman" and her employee were being to someone in their time of need?
A little too obvious. | |

On page 18 another "new" pea shows up to say "this took on a life of it's own" and to "stop the Donna bashing". Surprise surprise.
And apparently Donna wrote a blog entry when it was all unfolding, about the situation that said she made a mistake and learned a life lesson. She wrote it in such a way that it was all very vague and made it sound as if the rallying of peas was around her.

There's been a question (among many other questions) on my mind for many pages now and on the bottom of page 19 it was answered. I was wondering if Donna ever actually apologized to Sharon for unnecessarily adding to her stress. An apology that didn't include trying to put it back on Sharon.
And Sharon herself comes on and says:
"I heard from Donna yesterday. She thanked me for posting updates. And she did apologize. She apologized for hurting me in my time of trouble."
So at least she did that.

Wow, I made it through the whole thread. One question that was never answered (to my knowledge) is - if she refuses to refund, why would she have a waiting list of people waiting to pay for that empty seat that has already been paid for? Sounds like fraud to me.
Donna's latest blog entry is about registering for the next INSPIRED event.
How ironic.

yeah. That was the one thing that was just unexplainable, unpardonable, completely unacceptable about the whole thing, to me. (Well, her personal behavior was dreadful but you can't legislate that people act like decent human beings.) But it was apparent that Donna was planning to sell that spot again and double her money. That was just unforgivable, in my book.
one thing I have to thank her for, though. Up until the DD/sharon thing, I used to just drop in here once in a while, post and run. No one ever even talked to me. (beyotches) But that thread kept me coming back all the time until one day I realized, I'm really a pea. And I've been here ever since.

I have it on good authority (no, I do not work for/with Donna) that anyone who had been on the wait list had gotten spots due to other cancelations, and that by the time this situation occured, there was no one left on the wait list.
But it was apparent that Donna was planning to sell that spot again and double her money. That was just unforgivable, in my book.

you'd think after 7 years here that Just Kip would have a slight clue how the peas work.
Ordering the peas around like the big, bad pea mom only adds fuel to the fire (in this case pages to the thread). Peas are perpetual rebellious teenagers. |

As long as dd is still in business, as long as she is attempting to take money off of people, then it isn't enough.
If other vendors see how people like dd are treated after attempting to rip someone off they will think twice before they even remotely think of doing something like that.
