I know it's a dumb question, but I have never had to make a gallon of fruit tea. How many tea bags does it take to make a gallon? The box (of Celestial Seasonings) says 4 bags for a pitcher. How much is a pitcher? lol

16 if they're regular size tea bags (make 1 cup each).

Pitchers vary in size but I'd eyeball it and decide if I could empty a gallon of milk into it give or take a bit then it's about a gallon size. A little over add another tea bag.

I would only use 10 - 12 regular sized bags for a gallon.

My mom always made a large pitcher with 6 teabags. Hope this helps!

I use 12-14. I tie them all together and hang it in the pot of water as it comes up to boil. I leave them in there a little bit after it boils- while it's cooling.

I used 15 (all that I had!) and it turned out great! A little on the strong side, but not bad.

Thanks everyone!
