1. post read

2. Sorry, I don't *get* the "scrap fairy" exercise - I mean, my dream room would be about 20ft square with a huge table in the middle that I could have about 4 or 5 friends over to scrap at, I'd have everything to hand etc etc - in reality my space is 6'6"x7' & has a couple of awkward features - there is no point in dreaming about what I *could* have, I need to work with what I *do* have ...

3. This is part of my room at the moment:
but there is still a lot still in boxes from when I moved!

4. I think I sometimes have too much stuff & that can be a problem, sometimes it's easier to create with a more limited selection. On the other hand, there's nothing worse than not having what you need ... basically I think you can't get enough of the basics like cardstock, but can easily over do the fancy bits!

I read Wookiemouse's blog and almost started to cry. And then, after working in my room all afternoon, I saw the picture of her room and I knew what I wanted. I want a room with kitchen cabinets with glass doors, an island and a desk (actually I want all that in my real kitchen). I like to stand up for some tasks like stamping and cutting and sit to put things together. I have a lot of rolling carts in my room and one is a rolling table but I always have to move them around to get from one area to another. As for out in bins or not a combination works for me just need it to be easy to keep my workspaces clear and easy to put away.

Here is the my room as it looked a few weeks ago. I jumped ahead in this challenge because I am taking the BPS Use Your Stash class and I could not find a thing!
See links below - I cannot get the images to post here - thanks!

Question of the Week: yes I think too much stuff is a problem. It leaves me spending more time on organizing than creating and causes me to feel overwhelmed rather than challenged by new ideas or products. So I am on a no shopping spree unless it is for something I have used up like adhesive.

good evening, ladies...

i got side-tracked for a bit today doing housework. yuck!

now, this week's work.

1. read the week 2. brainstorming post as i was working on this post. check.
2. the scrap fairy exercise... eh, don't even ask, but check.
3. before pics. ok, number one - just for fun, i posted pictures of my first scrap space when i moved up here on my blog. couldn't help but take a moment to reminisce. number two - currently, my space is a disaster... but it too is posted on my blog. check.
4. qotw: somehow, between january and now, my stuff has magically multiplied by two. s/o noticed the credit card charges before he actually noticed the stuff. lol... at any rate, i've very recently asked myself: "what was i thinking? did i really need all that stuff?" check.

so this time through, my goals are easy:

1. get organized, once and for all
2. finish all of my unfinished projects and pages
3. quit buying things that i don't need, b/c really, i don't need all this stuff

oh, and shh... don't tell anyone, but i'm going to try to purge some this round as well.

the other thing i did was set up a "use it" basket, thanks to may's use your stash class...

Ooh, I like the idea of a "use it" basket ... I may need one of those when I get this room finished!
I had to make a couple of prototype cards last night (bit of a long story) & I was getting increasingly frustrated that I can't FIND anything! I did find my scissors/trimmer (in my tote on the shelf), and I did find glue. I couldn't find the pp I wanted to use, but I found my box of random card/paper (this is stuff that's not specifically sb safe - just stuff acquired over the years & I mostly use it with my girl scouts!) & I managed to use some of that. There was a bottle of stickles sitting randomly on the side (not the one I wanted but it was another of the clear sparkly ones so it was ok for the prototype!) but the main problem was that I have no idea where most of my cuttlebug embossing folders are - and I *really* wanted to use them! I did find one that was with my bigshot, so I did the sample with that, but it's not the one I really wanted to use!

From this I learnt that I need to have things in their own "homes" so I know where they are when I want them! I def felt constrained by not having what I *wanted* to hand, yet also slightly more focussed because I wans't distracted by embellishments etc - I pretty much had to make it work with cardstock, paper, a bit of stickles & one embossing folder ...

checklist of things to do during week 2 -

1. Read - Done
2. Scrap Fairy - Done - Although I have to confess, my scrap area now is "close". I need to fix a few storage problems but so far I haven't the "with what".
3. post "before" pictures - I'll do this later in the week.
4. answer the question of the week on this thread.

QOTW - I think it hurts me to have too much stuff. It saps my creativity to know that I have all this "stuff" and now the pressure is on to use it all. We just moved and I purged a good bit of stuff before we did and I feel SO much better. Now the trick is not to replace it all, LOL!

checklist of things to do during week 2 -

1. read the week 2. brainstorming post - check.

2. complete the scrap fairy exercise - later this week. Maybe that's part of my problem.... I don't know WHAT I want LOL

3. post "before" pictures - in my gallery. These are prior to round 2, but other then the clutter on the desk, not much has changed.

4. answer the question of the week on this thread - check.

Lots of supplies - hurt or help.
I think in my current space too many supplies actually hurts the process. Why? Because physically there's just not enough room for everything in there. Definitely need a major purge - stamps and pp mostly as those are my worst offenders.

Good morning. Since I posted my "before" photos in the week 1 thread and can't seem to get them to post again here (I'm so techno-lame), I think I managed to get them posted in the gallery. ???
The scrap fairy must need a new GPS becoz' she didn't show up at my house. But if she were to find me and brought lots of money, I would really like built-in cabinets with a countertop and a sink! But, in the meantime, I'm really glad to have a room to use and will make do with what I have now. I'm hoping to figure out better ways to use the items I'm using now and to hopefully purge a few things.
So, I guess my answer to the question of the week is: yes, I think that having so much stuff does hinder me. I still have stuff that I bought when I first started this in 1999. It's just so hard to part with some of it!
Thanks for your patience with my posts and attempts to add photos! Maria

For anyone who's getting stuck on the ScrapFairy exercise: think of some of your favorite places to shop, to eat, to visit. There's a reason why you feel comfortable in some places and not in others.

Think of a friend's house you like. Is it the furniture, furniture placement, or the flow of the room? Color on the walls or are they stark white? Is it cluttered, open, or cozy? Does it look like a place where you are afraid of breaking something or is it well-lived in? Does it say "put your feet up" or "you better use a coaster!"? Any visible stuff around: tchotkes or paperwork? Does the artwork on the walls match the furniture? Is storage obviously freestanding or built-in?

Now imagine you're at your favorite restaurant: you have a few minutes to wait before getting seated but you don't mind waiting a bit. Why? Do they have comfortable chairs or a sitting area to wait in? Is there music in the background or is a TV on? Is it airy and spacious or a compact area that has efficiently used its space for maximum effect?

Now imagine you're in your favorite clothing boutique. Are the clothes separated by category, color, or size? Are the hangers consistent and all the same or is it ecclectic and mixed? How is the lighting: can you easily read a care label or see the exact shade of fabric color? Do you like this store because the clothes are cut well for comfort, or are they stylish and edgy? If you had to describe the store to someone who has never been there before, what adjectives would you use to describe it? That will give you an idea of what you consider important factors.

When I did the SF exercise, I focused on the things I love about the bookstore Barnes&Noble. No curtains, lots of natural and task lighting, and oversized cushy furniture. I stand when I scrap so I like something plush to fall into when I'm perusing mags and LO's.

Don't let a little ScrapFairy trip you up. Now is the time to dream and to wish, as if budgets don't matter and no one will leave fingerprints on your stuff. You've got a clean slate to do with as you desire. Keep going! It will all be worth it!

checklist of things to do during week 2 -

1. read the week 2. brainstorming post done
2. complete the scrap fairy exercise I like my space as it is working out to be. I wish it was larger so I could scrap with a friend, and I wish it came with an organizer..
3. post "before" pictures. I will take some, but my computers down as my space is not together all yet. I am on my dd laptop, so I might not get posted today.
4. answer the question of the week on this thread. After having my stuff out in the garage for a few months, I love it all. Its like a giant scrapbook gift to have it back in the house. (I dont need more, besides adhesive, but love what I have.)

PS I just got (am still getting) a scraproom again. I was going to bring stuff in a littl at a time and organize, but my sister very nicely came and offered to help me bring it in, so its in but not yet how I like it all put away. I need some more bins for my ribbons, brads, buttons, etc. I am stumped on my paper and sticker storage. I have some neat bins, but cant stand having to pull out the bin and then open the drawer and close the drawer for every peice of paper, so I think they might store other things. So now I have pp and cs in a stack each, need to sort and label somehow.

Helllloooo everyone! I think I came back from a long vacatuion to a messy basement. HA well, I started doing this challenge back in the winter with everyone but got sidetracked. So now I'm right where I left off.

My basement did look great a longtime ago after the pics and the Furnace and water heater had to be replaced. Now it's in a state of entrophy! (mess) So... I'm off to clean it and get rid of all the stuff. We did get rid of the couch and tablew/chairs. Now I'm hunting for a counter, file cabinet, and have collected all sorts of containers. So in one sense I'm ahead but I'm backwards too!

As for the Scrap fairy-I've been to much of one myself and have to stop buying! Ugh I've got more stuff now! My dream of a beach side scrap room has changed...something basic with color. will see how this plays out.... Onward and forward! PS I do have pics fif you go round 2 thread.

I changed my dining room into a scrap room in January. I have plenty of storage space and work space. But I need to organize/purge so that everything fits neatly into the space available.

I don't think there can be too much stuff as long as it is organized and fits neatly into the space available. There can definately be too much stuff in a given space.

Pictures are posted in the gallery.

My goals are clean tabletops - nothing on top of the bookcases - neat work tables. A place for everything and everything in its place.

1 and 2. brainstorming/scrap fairy
My dream scraproom would have baskets, lots of purple, a clutter-free work surface, current projects easily accessible and organized, built in oak furniture, L-shaped workspace, room for guests, supplies labeled and easily accessible, ability to scrap at home and away, recently completed los displayed. I would love something that looks like this(the first office space display. She did say to DREAM!!

3. My before pics are the ones I took at the beginning of round 2. My space looks pretty much the same, just different stuff on the surfaces. Although it looks the same, it is a little more organized and I know where to find more stuff. Here are the before pics of my scraproom .

4. QOTH - I definitely have too much stuff and it is a definite hindrance on my productivity. I too have stuff from when I first started in 1999 that I am sure that I will not be using any time soon, but I have trouble parting with it.

I probably have enough stuff to scrap for the next year with the exception of adhesive and cardstock. So I am putting myself on a buying freeze. I will only buy adhesive and cardstock that is too be used on an immediate project.

Leisa - GO VOLS!

Completed 2010: 85
Completed 2011: cards - 16; los - 70
Completed 2012: cards - 26; los - 36
Completed 2013: cards - 13; los - 20
Completed 2014: cards - 0; los - 14
Mar goal: cards 0/4; los 14/4

I would love a pretty, colorful room. One of my favorite stores is full of beautiful yarns & ribbons and it is just so visually appealing! That is what I'd like for my space.

QOTW: For me, I think I can have too much stuff. And I think I'm at that point now. I think I need to do a major purge. But the guilt of "that will mean I wasted that $" is holding me back.

QOTW:
What's your take on stuff?
I have too much stuff and it needs to be contained for me to be creative and motivated to scrap. I shop too much. Have a Cricut Expression, Gypsy, SCAL and several carts but have not really used it yet. (also have a wishblade - thinking about selling).

Do you think it helps or hurts you?
Helps: dedicated space near family. Furniture is functional.
Hurts: I cannot scrap unless my entire house is clean. Scrapbook room is in full view. I have invested a lot of money and would like to see myself spendng more time scrappin and less time buyin!

Do you think you'd be better off w/ more or less stuff?
Depends. I hate to pay full price, but I am definately feeling overwhelmed by the volume of stuff. For instance, my last albumn was of our trip(s) to the beach. I have SOOO much beach stuff it was hard to choose and the completed albumn felt mix and matched. I definately need to purge.

If the Scrap Fairy came to my house I would have french doors between the SB room and the living room and built-in shelves / cabinets on both sides of the fireplace to store completed albumns and photos. I would also have a nice curtain and somewhere to display recent projects / pages.

question of the week: what's your take on stuff? do you think it helps or hurts you? Do you think you'd be better off w/ more or less stuff?

Too much stuff hurts your creativity cuz you feel overwhelmed. Just look around your room and if it is like mine, too much stuff makes you feel overwhelmed and paralized to start. less is more but you want enough stuff to make choices to make your layouts like you envision.
It is all in the balance. Enough stuff to choose from but not so much as to overwhelm you.

1. read the week 2. brainstorming post.

2. complete the scrap fairy exercise.
a beautifully painted and Parisan Themed large room about 16 by 20 foot with french doors, two large 5 x 5 expedits and coordinating accessories like baskets and matching magazine holders and photo boxes to coordinate through the room. Everything is labeled and organized. There is room for a friend to scrap with me while listening to my ipod or watching dvds on my flat screen television and a spot for the dogbeds.

3. post "before" pictures.

1) Read the week 2 brainstorming post (done).
2) Scrap Fairy Exercise -- I want something out of a Pottery Barn catalogue. Shabby Chic, comfy couch and lots of detail and texture. I actually like lots of visual stimulation and the cluttered look. As long as things are interesting to look at. I like antique furniture, vintage finds, and the weathered & worn look. Beadboard rocks my world. I'd really like a space to myself (in the future maybe), with a real studio feel. A place that inspires creativity. A place that says "Art is made here."
3) Post 'before' photos YIKES (done -- as painful as it was -- click on the link to see my mess). Should make you feel better about your space.
4) Answer QOTW: What's your take on stuff? Do you think it helps or hurts you? Do you think you'd be better off w/ more or less stuff? This is a hard one for me to admit, but I do think I have too much stuff for my space. I don't necessarily think I have too much stuff, though. I just need to use what I have and not overbuy one type of item. Apparently there was a time I just LOVED really ugly page kits (actually, some were kinda cute, but just not something I'd use anymore). I just got rid of every single one of them. There were over 12 and they weren't cheap. Just makes me want to cry. Now I wonder if I will feel that way about my ledger paper, Tim Holtz stuff and Primas that I horde now. As long as I use them up, I won't have to worry about having a big stash of stuff that is no longer my style in 2 or 3 years. But I DEFINITELY don't need any more ledger paper or Primas. Tim's stuff I just can't resist...I'm weak, I know...

My room is somewhat organized but I would like to tweak a few areas to make it more attractive. Ideally, I would like a bigger table or desk but currently don't have room for one. I would like to find a bookcase to put in the family room that is deep enough and sturdy enough to hold my completed albums. I don't live in a city with an IKEA store, so the Expedit is out. Anyway, getting the albums out of my SB room would help immensely with my storage problems.

My favorite style is French Country, so I would like to add some of that look to my decorating.

I have a lot of stuff and I'm okay with that as long as it's organized. Also, I need to lay off of the shopping and work on using up my stuff so that I have more space.

I'm torn with this scrap fairy exercise ...

On one hand, I'd love to have a quaint little "shed-like" building in my shaded, mature tree backyard. It would have large windows and enough room to scrap for 6 This would only happen should I win the lottery seeing as we only have a postage sized backyard with NO trees .... so I'm going to vision #2. LOL

The other side of my brain is picturing a room all to myself IN the house, but very close to all the action. I'd love lots of natural light and the room be painted green. Lots of storage space, not in closed door cupboards but I don't want to see everything either. I'd like a counter height table that's a minimum of 3 feet deep and maybe 5 feet across.

1. read the week 2. brainstorming post. Check
2. complete the scrap fairy exercise. Haven't been able to hear myself think long enough to get this done.
3. post "before" pictures.
I'm going to re-post my before photos from round 2 since I didn't really get much farther than that and very little has changed. If anything the piles on the table are bigger!
Before photos

4. My stuff is definately hurting me. I have to move so much stuff to find what I want, often forget what I was looking for in the first place - simply a big frustration and distraction. On the other hand, I love most of it. I think the thing I need most is a system that will make me put things away, or at least make it easy to do so.

I think one of the reasons I've avoided the Scrap Fairy exercise is sthat I'm torn like Kris74. On the one hand, I want a place to escape to (away from the noise & chaos of my family) and on the other, I need to be able to pop in to keep my finger in my creative pie when I have a couple moments. Other than that, I'd like lots of natural light, a beautiful garden outside the window, open and orderly storage and inspiring art on the walls.

2. complete the scrap fairy exercise.
ok my scrap fairy would due the following to make me happy
paint my room a very very pale pink, with white trim, sew so some curtains, on the wall behind the funky blue chair and above the desk hang 3 big frams on the wall and inside one paint chalk board paint, one with cork, and one with dry erase paint. then she would hang a chandelier, and put out some decorations

3. post "before" pictures.

4. answer the question of the week on this thread
I think i would be better of with WAY less stuff, sometimes ok a lot of times i forget what i have. that is why i have so much stuff visable, if it is out of sight out of mind.

2. scrap fairy couldn't find a space to land in my scraproom LOL! I need more space, or rather, I need to rid of clutter.
3. *hold this space*
4. I know I need to part with stuff, it's the actual task of doing it that is making me procrastinate.

1 - Done

2 - My ideal room would be cream with white furniture, lots of natural light and a door that shuts. There would be stations/zones with everything out and accessible. A TV, DVD's, music and a comfy chair. Oh, and a 27" imac.

3 - Photos are in my gallery.

4 - QOTW - I think I have too much stuff that I don't like. My tastes have changed since I started scrapping and I have a lot of things that I just don't like/use/aren't my style anymore. But for me, having a large stash helps. I tend to order online because there aren't any good LSS's near me and M's & J's are just not stocked for my taste. Plus, I tend to scrap late at night or early in the morning so I like things to be there instead of getting stalled waiting on something to come in.

So now I need to go around the room and find out what is not working and what is.I hate that I'm doing this again but love that I have an excuse to join the chat again.

QOTW: I know I'm better off with less stuff but ask me to purge it and it might get ugly.

So here are my before pics for round 3

and here are the before pics from round 2

I think if I could have my room any way I wanted 1) it would be bigger
2)nice big windows to let in lots of natural light 3) French doors would be nice 4)A cozy place to sit, maybe read 5) a TV in the room so I can watch while I scrap or paint 6) a place for my painting stuff

What I most want is a place for everything even my "get done boxes", less time cleaning and more time creating.

Thanks again Crisann! I'd be lost without you all!!!
OK. Here it goes...
1.read brainstorming post-done!

2.SF- My tastes haven't changed since last round, so this is easy...even if it isn't in my budget. I would love to kidnap Martha Stewart and have her design my scrap room in the New England Colonial way that only she can. Until the, I will live with my jetmax cubes and computer hutch...but a girl can dream of crown moulding and fluted cabinits...and a nanny. Definately a nanny for the kids.

3.Will post updated before/ current pics...they aren't pretty.. by Monday. My old ones are on my org challenge blog under January.

4. PA Me has this one- yes and no. I think that some of my best layouts are those I "improvise" at crops with my limited supplies. But sometimes it is great to have lots of choices, because that way your scrap style can evolve. (My Inner Hoarder just likes to shop).

1) Done

2) SF:
a) picture situation: All my photos would be tagged on my PC, they would be backed up onto a hard drive. All my pictures in boxes would be in order and scanned onto computer. And in albums.I would have a plan as to how I want to scrapbook (chron or theme) I would have 5 projects planned before I starte scrapbooking (the sketch picked out, pics printed to the correct size, go around my room and "shop" for the CS, PP, embellishments etc and have them in some sort of bag sitting someong visible but not too visible... maybe hanging in a drawer.
PP I would have kichen cabinet style cupbards with glass on some doors. some of the shelves would have vertical dividers and I would come up with a system on how to categorize my PP, either by pattern or color , my CS would be in ROYGBIV order, also in cabinets
c) Some of my cabinets would not have drawers but pretty glass containers with wide mouths. Some would have ribbon in ROYGBIV order, some would have flowers in the same order (I like pretty things to be viewable)
d) I would have countertops under my cabinets and my cabinets would have lighting that lights up the counters...I want big windows with lots of light.
e) I would have stations set up on the counter tops (cutting, stamping/embossing, printing/scanning/computer, sewing
f) in the center of the room I would have my workspace...I haven't decided if I want to scrap standing up or sitting down but I want enough room for 4 people to scrap comfortably.
g) in the center scrap area I want to be able to store my most used tools in a caddy. And other frequently used tools out of site underneath.
h) I would have a book shelf with all my finished albums and they would all match
i) I would have LOs displayed just below ceiling on curtain rods.
j) I would have other decorative items sprinkled throughout the room and lots of flowers. I love glass dispay cases.
K) I want a flat screen TV with hidden wires and surround sound. I want to be able to pull it out and angle it if I want to see it scrapping or lie flat with the family is upstairs with me
L) I want an area that my husband can lay out on the couch or my daughter with task lighting so that she can do her homework or just be on laptop.
M) oh I almost forgot..i want lots of plugs along my countertop so that I am not searching for a plug.
N) I want to use the cabinets for seasons (stamps, paper etc that are just for Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving etc..to be organized by season)
O) I don't want my furniture to match exactly but I want it to blend well
P) Oh and everything would be labeled in a nice way so that I know where everything is but it doesn't look "labelled"

3) Before pictures I like the color but I think it can be a bit darker blue but not much...maybe another coat. My delimma is I love blue/green combo but I also like the pink vintage look (see the boxes on shelves? i know they don't go but I love them. Before pictures

4) I don't think I have too much stuff...however I do have stuff that I need to let go of...games I am storing in closet that I mustget rid of, old stickers that I will never use, felt, patterns, small albums that I have never used etc. I like having my stuff because I can scrap whatever I want at anytime and not have to worry if I have everything needed to complete a page. I may not have all of it but I have enough to start and almost complete most pages, mini albums etc.

Here is my attempt:

1. Read - check
2. Scrap Fairy - I don't really have a picture in my mind of what I want it to look like and how I want it to be organized. My scrap fairy would just clean it up and it would look a-w-e-s-o-m-e! - check
3. See if this works - My before pics - check (assuming you can see the pics)
4. Stuff - too much stuff, it's killing me. Mostly because it's not too organized, but more because I don't know what I have. I have to look through a lot of stuff to find things I may or may not have. Since I'm on a huge stoppage of spending money, it will help in the long run because I have lots of stuff to choose from. - check

SCRAPINGBEE!!! To quote one of my favorite movie lines, "Mighty fine to see you!!" Glad to see you're back!! I've missed your blog updates too. How's Girl Friday doing??

Crisann - I meant to comment on your new picture, but I still have to give it a second look to see who it is. LOL You look great - much older I think!

Super - Wow. I think you put the scrap fairy to shame. Your vision is amazing, you thought of pretty much every detail.

Jelly Bean - Your room looks much like mine did at the beginning of round 2. There's hope for us yet - I just know it!!

@Kris. A girl can dream can't she? Wookie said no budget on space or money so I did what I would want. However I forgot to mention that I would have all my stamps cataloged in a binder of some sort.

However I you look at my scraproom and you knew my budget well all I can say is there better be a scrapfairie or I need to win lotto. Lol

I am really anxious to find out where we are going with this wants list.

Supers... I too appreciate your thouroghness!
jellybean-dont't worry. My original before before pic Jan 2010 would have qualified me for clean sweep with Niece Nash at the least...or possibly Hoarders. LOL (now). It was BAD.

I would love to join in on this if it is not to late.

1. done

2.My area is working as it is but there are things I would love to change. I would love to have kitchen style cabinets with doors along at least 2 of my walls. I would love to have everything labeled and organized so I can find things easier. I would love to have stations for like die cutting machines, computer/printers, stamping/paint, and even my sewing machines. I would also like to have all my paper together in one spot instead of here and there and organized neatly. I already have a workplace in the center of my room that I love. Now I just need to fix all my most used items on it and in the drawer on it for easier access. I would also love matching albums to showcase. Would love to give my room some color like paint the walls a light pink. Add some darker pink and black accents and decor to my room. I would also like a basket for things that need to be donated, a basket for things that need to be used and a basket for things that are new.

3.before pics (hope I am doing this right)

4.QOTW: Sometimes I think I have too much stuff and I spend way to much time trying to clean and organize which is why I want to get completely organized the way I want so I don't have to keep moving things here and there. But then when I get to scrapping I never have exactly what I need so then I say "see I don't have too much stuff or I would have what I needed"! There are things that I have that I really don't need and then there are things that I need that I don't have so I could do without some stuff I have and then there are some things that I need more of. So can you see why I need help!?

Posted a new entry in my blog with a picture of my current state of disrepair of my scrap room.

craftycreations-your room is fabulous! I would put that up to my scrap fairy if she was on a budget!

the game is on
I don't have pictures yet
scrap fairy where are you?
I have dreams of everything
I wanted to do this but thought I don't even have time to read what you are suppose to do much less do anything, but I was working on a halloween album and had such a mess I couldn't even see the counter and I have a good bit of work room .I am lucky my dh built me a building 15 years ago I really wish it was part of the house I would do more .I did stop and started clearing the counter and now I am inspired to get it organized .
I love having lots of stuff .I have purged some but have found that I might not use it now but have found later it might be just the thing I need .Have done this twice in the last month on old paper a red plaid I have had since 1998 was perfect for a cook book .I also bought the quilling dies and had paper from about 6 years ago that is perfect for that .So I will be getting things organized more than purging .Would love to make it prettier but that is a little harder My room is paneled and I don't want to paint and that's not what I need but get it functional Yea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I enjoy reading each post, as it forces me to think more about my own space and what is and isn't working. There are tons of ideas floating around here!

1. read the week 2 brainstorming post - DONE

2. complete the scrap fairy exercise - DONE

Based on things I learned from round 2 of the challenge, I am purchasing a 2x2 Expedite cube for the corner where the fake tree used to reside. I need more surface area to move my Clip-It-Up from the top of my existing 4x4 Expedite. I originally purchased just the base CIU, but now need/want to add the upper tier. I've got too many small items taking up space on the base unit that will fit nicely on the smaller size top tier unit.

Evening lighting is still an issue in my space, but I haven't decided what route to take to fix the problem. DH isn't fond of track lighting and I'm not convienced a ceiling fan/light combo will shed enough light in the space.

I'd love for the Scrap Fairy to just read my mind, wave her wand and create the perfect room for me. Any takers?

3. post "before" pictures -

before photos from round 2

4. answer the question of the week on this thread -

Question of the week: What's your take on stuff? Do you think it helps or hurts you? Do you think you'd be better off with more or less stuff?

I have stuff-overload! Combine that with time-management issues and there's no question as to why I'm not productive in here. Although my stash is small compared to some, it's too big for me. I purged some things in round 2, but will go through EVRYTHING again during this go-around.

Behind the times posting...computer is giving me the fits. What's new?!
At least, I'm not too behind the challenge...check on me again by Week 5, OKAY?!

Let's see...Week 2 Brainstorming...

checklist of things to do during week 2 -

1. read the week 2. brainstorming post. done
2. complete the scrap fairy exercise. meh...it's as done as it's gonna get.
3. post "before" pictures. Does it count that I took the photos? If I knew where my camera cord was, I'd still be too scared to post!
4. answer the question of the week on this thread.
What's your take on stuff? Do you think it helps or hurts you? Do you think you'd be better off w/ more or less stuff?

I admittedly have too much stuff. Over the past 3 years, I've purchased considerably less, and I have used some new and old, purged many more times than I can count, STILL, there is so much stuff.
However, I do like that when I get in the mood to scrap, or use my stash (THANKS, MAY F.!), I can find what I want to use and I enjoy using what I have.
Yes, LESS would be nice.

I have far too much stuff, used to buy just cause, was a member of a kit club, was a consultant all equal way too much stuff. I am going to purge purge purge as we go along with this.

I want my masterbedroom empty of all scrap stuff and the same for the living room. I am thinking if it can't fit on my 5x5 epidit it is too much ( thought only)
