I'm new and am just trying to download the pdf files but each time I attempt it I get a big ? on an Adobe screen and then a black page.
Is there something else I need to do or another page I can find these articles?
Thanks! |

I might re-do this with y'all. I've learned so much in a few weeks that I want to go back and review, re-shoot and revel in the joy all over again!
First time around was soooo confusing and I kept drawing a blank on how to set stuff on my camera!
Let's GO! |

Now that I read the lesson, I can look at your pics and "understand" them better. Good job! I can totally see the differences. This is the main reason I wanted my DLSR...so I could blur out the distracting backgrounds. Now if I could just figure out *my* lens!!! Hopefully I'll figure it out and post my pics tomorrow then.

I have FINALLY had a minute to get some pictures for this lesson. On the plus side...I was busy this weekend playing "assistant" to my friend (who is a professional photographer). I got to help hold the reflector and make the kiddos smile for about 9 families! I had so much fun and learned ALOT! Anyway, here are my shots for this assignment...
I had my ISO set too high for this (so I'm going to experiment some more the next day or two)

18mm, f 5, ss 1/4000, ISO 1600, AV mode

Meridy - you should work at the pace you're most comfortable with - I am hoping to get some new shots up, but don't wait on them!
My hope is - whether you and the other newcomers work through slowly or quickly, each post puts this thread back at the top which means we might attract more latecomers which would be awesome.
With Amanda's terrific guidance and each set of new photos posted, I can see/hear the little ball bearings clicking into place in my brain and hopefully others', too.

But, if you'd rather jump in later, I think that is okay.

Michelle --> I say join in when you are ready. I think that a lot of this information is going to be redundant for someone who has already taken a photography course, but the key is in the practicing and in getting feedback from others.
For me, I've learned taht I need to shoot more. I also need to ask for CC more. Taking this "course" makes me post at least once a week, and it is helping me get to know several others on this board.
So, yeah . . . join us! Dazzle us with your fabulousness. And we promise to dazzle you with ours! |
