I'm new and am just trying to download the pdf files but each time I attempt it I get a big ? on an Adobe screen and then a black page.
Is there something else I need to do or another page I can find these articles?

Thanks!

I might re-do this with y'all. I've learned so much in a few weeks that I want to go back and review, re-shoot and revel in the joy all over again!

First time around was soooo confusing and I kept drawing a blank on how to set stuff on my camera!

Let's GO!

Now that I read the lesson, I can look at your pics and "understand" them better. Good job! I can totally see the differences. This is the main reason I wanted my DLSR...so I could blur out the distracting backgrounds. Now if I could just figure out *my* lens!!! Hopefully I'll figure it out and post my pics tomorrow then.

And if we keep commenting, we essentially BTT this which means we might attract more Peas!

I have FINALLY had a minute to get some pictures for this lesson. On the plus side...I was busy this weekend playing "assistant" to my friend (who is a professional photographer). I got to help hold the reflector and make the kiddos smile for about 9 families! I had so much fun and learned ALOT! Anyway, here are my shots for this assignment...

I had my ISO set too high for this (so I'm going to experiment some more the next day or two)

18 mm, f 3.5, ss 1/4000, ISO 1600, AV mode

18mm, f 5, ss 1/4000, ISO 1600, AV mode

18mm, f 8, ss 1/3200, ISO 1600, AV mode

18mm, f 16, ss 1/800, ISO 1600, AV mode

I'm ready when you are.... I'll have two extra kiddos here with me for the next couple days(twin 3 yr old girls) , but I can probably get week 2 done, with the help of my older kiddos HA! It gives me a great excuse to put those boys to work!

We're in the same boat...I have one extra 20 month old, and one extra husband until Christmas!!! (My sister is packing up her house with her son, to move back here, while my BIL already had to start his new job back here). Let's go to week 2.

Meridy - you should work at the pace you're most comfortable with - I am hoping to get some new shots up, but don't wait on them!

My hope is - whether you and the other newcomers work through slowly or quickly, each post puts this thread back at the top which means we might attract more latecomers which would be awesome.

With Amanda's terrific guidance and each set of new photos posted, I can see/hear the little ball bearings clicking into place in my brain and hopefully others', too.

As far as resizing... in Photobucket, if you resize the long side to 600 it fits on the board.. Not sure how to do it if your not using photobucket though HTH

Either way I think i'll be fun and there are lots of messages on here full of great information (much more than what i've learned in class haha)

I know I would like to see your whole progression through the series, because I love the stuff posted on this thread - frogs and other critters!

Every time it comes to the top of the forum, I think OOOOOOO, something to see! YAY!

But, if you'd rather jump in later, I think that is okay.

Amanda - what do you think?

Ok here's mine, too lazy and cold to go outside today. Used my flash to bounce light off a posterboard so I wouldn't have to boost my ISO, even at 400 I hate the noise, damn Rebel.

Michelle --> I say join in when you are ready. I think that a lot of this information is going to be redundant for someone who has already taken a photography course, but the key is in the practicing and in getting feedback from others.

For me, I've learned taht I need to shoot more. I also need to ask for CC more. Taking this "course" makes me post at least once a week, and it is helping me get to know several others on this board.

So, yeah . . . join us! Dazzle us with your fabulousness. And we promise to dazzle you with ours!

playing catch up here, and it's pouring rain.

1. f4.5 1/160 iso 800 (I know it's suppose to be like 200, but like I said, it's pouring!)

2. f8 1/50 iso800

3. taken a few hours later after I realized my other photo was out of focus.
f18 ss 1 iso 800

When does this class start? I can't get any of the links to go anywhere right now. I thought I had saw something earlier that said it started Jan 7th.
