Mornin'! I have two more sick kids. I've been up off and on all night.

QOTW: Do I got to crops? Not anymore. I used to go to them all the time but haven't found a group since I moved.

SO, I guess I can use this week and a catch up for stamp week. Sick kids and potty training makes for zero "free" time.

Hope everybody has a great week!

Good morning. This might be a "try to catch up" week for me too. Still have a few fibers to wind (bought some more bobbins yesterday) and the photos are still unfinished.

Read wookiemouse's blog: done
QOTW: No, not really. Since our lss have closed (loved going to the one for her Friday nite crops), the only place that a couple of friends and I go to is Archivers and it's 30-35 miles away (in the BIG city) so we don't go very often. I don't really accomplish much at crops, but it's still fun to go match up papers and play around.

Hope everyone's kids are feeling better; maybe this will be their first and last illness of the winter.
Have a good week everyone. And thanks again crisann for hosting this. Maria

Just a quick check in between laundry and Christmas decorating

I'm jealous you guys have snow Crisann! I usually hate the white stuff, but anytime before Christmas snow just seems so much more magical. Besides, DS has been asking for snow since about July

Mel - Sorry about the sick kids. Hope they all feel better soon and you don't catch one of their bugs.

Maria - Hope you have a great catch up week!!

I go to one annual retreat and day crops at LSS maybe 4 or 5 times a year with the same group of girls.I don't have "supplies" persay. I have a bunch of totes that hang from my bookshelf. My rolling tote gets stored in the cold cellar with out coolers. No idea where it is, but DH gets it out within 5 minutes anytime I ask, so I'm guessing it's farily accessible. I don't go into the cold cellar as I can't stand the creepy crawlies that lurk in there.

I don't keep doubles of anything and I use my AMM tote on my desk all the time anyways so that's always ready to go.

So back to the stamping index ... maybe I'll stamp in green instead this time. I need some variety on my fingers

Oh and I also have a toolbox for embelishments and small things like ink that I bring to crops. I use this as is at home too so I don't really count it as crop supplies. I usually go through it before every crop, take some things out, add in some new things to keep things fresh.

I'll take some pictures, but it's seriously a boring blue toolbox I bought on sale at Home Depot a couple of years ago ...

Mel - I have lived your pain this weekend! UGH sick little ones! Hope they get better soon.

Crisann - It is snowing here

Kris74 - Aren't you worried about your case being down there with the creepy crawlies?

Read the blog.
QOTW: I used to go to crops at the LSS before it closed Never got much done though. So no more crops for me.

LoveRibbons - I don't mind that tote living with the creepy crawlies. Only because it is hard plastic, it gets put away with the lid on tight, and (most of all) because DH opens it up and checks it out before he brings it to me Besides, it's so big, that one doesn't really fit in my scraproom!! It's a rolling tote and fits 5 or 6 IRIS cases standing up.

question of the week: do you go to crops?

Not so much, although I always mean to get out to my LSS's weekly crops. I find that I don't get much done because either I haven't packed well (last minute decision to go), or I'm distracted by other's coming and going. There's a couple of ladies who frequent my LSS (woman & her mom) who have their (grand)daughters coming and going throughtout the evening. They're nice people (daughters included) but I'm easily distracted by the coming and going.

I'll be using this as a catch-up week, mostly. I'll make up page kits, index my stamps, tag my photos, print some photos, etc. Lots of 'housekeeping' stuff to do. I also am trying to set up a binder/index of stories that I want to scrap. I really need to work on that.

checklist of things to do during week 14 -
1. read the week 14 post on wookiemouse's blog. Done
2. answer the question of the week on this thread. Done
3. organize your crop supplies. Will make up some page kits, but will likely use them at home. Still, it helps me be more productive wherever I scrap, and I'm running low.

Here's an updated link for Wookiemouse's second link (it didn't work for me). I've added to the comments as well.

Lydia - It's one I found at the hardware store!! It's really just a big, plastic, empty box. It has a handle to lift, but also a telescopic handle (like luggage).

Here are a couple of links for you:

This is similar to my embelishment toolbox.
Embelishment Toolbox

This is really close to what my tool tote looks like.

This isn't it, but it was something like this that inspired the one I bought. Home Depot Rolling Toolbox

Good morning everyone. Hope everyone had a productive weekend. Me .. not so much. I never got past the first drawer of stamp sets that I indexed on Friday night. But I'm hoping to finish-up this week.

Question of the week: Do you go to crops?

I don't go to crops since our LSS closed 5 years ago. I had just found scrapbooking and the store closed within a year. I attended 1 Friday night crop and had a blast, but the owner decided to start a card making magazine.

Checklist of things to do during week 14 -

1. read the week 14 post on wookiemouse's blog - DONE
2. answer the question of the week on this thread - DONE
3. organize your crop supplies - working on my stamp set index instead

Only three and a half drawers of stamps sets left to index. Should be able to tackle that in a week, right?!

I'm always so sad to hear of great LSS closing I only know of two in my area that has closed since I started scrapping. One of them turned into a wedding vendor place, I guess they wanted to specialize in invitations?? Not sure what happenned to the other.

Way to go Lisa!! I still have far too many to index, but a little at a time!! I'm hoping to get one or two showboxes done during the week ... I may just recruit DS to give me a hand tomorrow. He loves to stamp!

So what's everyone up to today?? Need to give Crisann a bit of interesting reading you know

well, my doggies are SURE it is dinner time, but they are way early!

I don't think I can make page kits way ahead!
I keep my Totally Cool! packed all the time. I use it on my crop table! other than that, I have extra adhesives in a plastic thing that I put in the car "in case" for crops.

Haven't really found good crops or cropping buddies since I moved! That MUST change!

QOTWo you go to crops?

YES! Once a month, my BFF's cousin has a crop at her church. It's a mere $5 and I get fed really well, have a whole 8 foot table to myself, and I tend to get a whole lot accomplished. It isn't crowded, just a handful of wonderful ladies, who love to scrapbook.

I also crop with a bunch of ladies I met on another online website. We all live in the area, and have often met at A's or other LSS's to crop, at least, 3 times a year. They are a lively bunch, we get very little scrapping done when we are together, but we learn stamping techniques and other crafty things from one another, so it is a lot of fun.

I haven't gone to many crops in the last few years. None of my scrappin' friends like to go...they think it's too much trouble to pack up their stuff. We do get together and scrap at our houses, though.

I keep my basic supplies in my totally tool tote all the time and my page kits are in my shoulder bag so I'm usually all set to crop at home or away.

QOTW: do you go to crops?

I go to two crops a month - one at my church and one with my CM consultant. And I try to get away one weekend a year for a scrapbook retreat.

checklist of things to do during week 14 -
1. read the week 14 post on wookiemouse's blog. DONE
2. answer the question of the week on this thread. DONE
3. organize your crop supplies. Mostly DONE

I have a small bag that has all of my basic supplies for crops. I also keep my big tote packed from crop to crop so it's always ready to go. I do need to work on page kits so I'm not lugging everything to a crop.

I'm still working on a couple of previous weeks - stickers and stamps. So I'll keep plugging away at those and page kits.

QOTW: YES! I go for my church (if it doesn't conflict with scouts), we have two LSS here, and I just got to go to CKC and crop and shop and learn!

I LOVE crops! (and realiaticly, I always get less done than I plan to do, but I at least get something done, and everyone else's creativity inspires me!)

What info are you guys putting on your index cards? I have brand, set (if it's SU), and location (in my room). Is there anything else I should be adding??

But the good news is that I have another 2 shoeboxes done. YAY me!

I haven't even been up in my scrap area lately. Potty training is NOT going well, I feel like I'm chained to the bathroom. I probably shouldn't have picked right before Christmas to start this painful evolution.

I DO have my inside decorated for Christmas though. Tree is up, stockings are hung, mantle is decorated. Outside is DH's job!

I am jealous of all of you who have crops to go to. I would love to find a group here that crops. I know I'm not the only one that scrapbooks in the area, LOL!!!

Have a great day everyone. I'm going to try to tackle the "wrapping presents" chore today!

Mel I think I know someone who lives in your area who scraps. Will check.

As for potty training, put some Christmas decorations on the mirror and stock up a rolling craft table with stamping supplies because you need water for stamping. Then you can safely "ignore" the trainee and have some fun!

Mel - Sorry the potty training is slow going... I agree with LoveRibbons though, seeing that you're spending so much time in the bathroom anyways, might as well stamp

scrappn usmc- I trifolded cloth diapers and put them in pull-ups one size up. my kids HATED feeling wet, and it helped. BTW my husband was deployed when each of our kids were potty trained. I think he owes me!

No work needed on crops, pretending to think about stamps, the time just beeped, so I am off to shuffle kids again-Birthday party pick up this time!

I hope all the sick kiddos are getting better! thanks for sticking with the thread in the holiday rush!

LOL what is it about boys and thinking Walmart is evil. DH will go into one only because it's down the street from his work and I ask him specifically to pick something up. But then I hear the grumbling about it. You just can't win!

Ok at work in a hurry - saw the May's class post. Are we all in for May's class? I think it would be fun to do as a group. Not so sure about Ali Edward's class anymore except for all the digi templates. What are we thinking or not

ScrappnBee - good idea on the rolled up cloth diapers. I put my kids in those old fashioned cloth training pants and put them outside - was summer time and no they did not like being wet especially DDs. But then again that was 18-20 years ago and they probably do not make those training pants anymore. Pull ups had just come out and my mother pointed out that they were keeping the kids too comfy. I am so old as are my pumpkins

Post about what class you are taking.

kris - even if you never look at it, sign up for karen grunberg's free class, just to have the handouts to go back to...

ScrappnBee - love that term!

Crisann - Do you have the handouts already? I thought the class did not start until February?

Kris - I just know DH will say no to Ali's class- I keep begging though but he did just buy me the electric Big Shot although it was 40% off. I think he should keep in mind that I could ask for a wide format printer but I never have well perhaps once or twice. But I am seriously behind in everything I have taken so far that I should devote January to catching up. And then there are my stamps....

I wish I did not work full time but two kids are still in college.

loveribbons - no, but it's free, so there's no reason not to register for it. even if you never log in during the two week class, you'll still have the information to go back to later.

Are you talking about the Embrace Imperfection Cristi?? That one does sound interesting!!

LoveRibbons - Grab a "pile" (aka drawer, shoebox or whatever) of stamps, some ink, whatever you're using for your index, a scrub or baby wipes. Turn on the tv and tell yourself you will stamp for 1 30 minute show. Seriously. It's amazing how much you can get done while watching tv!!! I'm planning on getting through another shoebox tonight when the Big Bang Theory is on

I'm thinking DH would be pretty shocked when I tell him the price of the Ali class ... I think I'll end up signing up at the last minute and hope for a discount code between now and then HEY!! Don't we get like $10 off when we spend so much on classes?? I have to see where I am...

Kris - not sure I really need to index them because I know what I have - kind of stuck in my head really...well perhaps not. I guess you are right. But they are sorted but it is the sentiments and the SU stamps that are making me indecisive. IDK what to do with them.

Judy - off to look at Ali's blog. Still it is a lot of money even if there were ten digi templates - her templates are like $4 at Designer Digitals so that is $40. I think I will pass but will check on the discount.

hi all just checking in, I'm going to be pretty busy until Christmas so if you don't hear from me for a while that's why. I will be reading the posts but may not respond. I'll try to update my progress when I can.

Have a happy season!

OK all you enablers, I just signed-up for Karen Grunberg's free class (Embrace Imperfection) too! Sounds like it hits a little too close to home for me.

I clicked through from BPC to her personal blog and she has an amazing Tag Advent Calendar posted. It's clean and simple, yet gorgeous and very functional. I printed in out and will file it for next year. Maybe I'll add it to my September 2011 calendar so it's actually completed by the next holiday season!

Thanks crisann! Somehow I missed her free class. I really like her style and the Embrace Imperfection class is just what I need to "let go and scrap more". In my organized room ... of course.
