We had DS's Christmas play this morning and a bunch of family over afterwards to hang out. Everyone just left so I'm updating this, throwing on my comfy clothes and back to stamping index cards while DS a& DH play video games. Hope everyone else is having a great Sunday too!!

1. read the week 15 blog post on wookiemouse's blog. DONE
2. complete your progress report. DONE - below
3. organize your inks, ink pads, and embossing supplies. - DONE, needs a bit of purging, but everything fits so it's done

Thank goodness the QOTW isn't how many ink pads you have .... for me that's almost as bad as admitting my stamps addiction

I'm just updating for the weeks I have left to do. it's actually not too bad considering what I started with.
week 04. paper - DONE, but need to do some more purging. It all fits. Barely
week 07. ideas - DONE, but not loving it.
week 08. projects, unfinished pages, and kits. - DONE, but not loving it.
week 09. embellishments - DONE but working towards Mel's (??) colour basket idea instead.
week 13. stamps - still working on the index cards. *sigh*
week 15. ink, ink pads, embossing - DONE but need to purge some.
week 21. pens and pencils - DONE - but need to purge some
week 24. memorabilia - not even touched, but have a few plans!!
week 26. new items and keeping it neat .... and this is why I need to keep purging
week 27. fonts - nothing done really
week 28. cards and card-making supplies - need something better then what I have I think
week 29. room and space decor - not even started

My inks seemed to be fine about 6 months ago, now, they've outgrown their bins. I'm considering what to do with my distress inks specifically, because I have them standing on their sides so I have trouble finding the colour I want, or seeing what I have. Shallow drawers sounds like a good idea.

I also need to stop buying those little ink pads. They're addictive, I think. So cute and useful. But then they take over and spill out everywhere. I'm thinking of colour sorting them in bins in a couple of shallow drawers.

1. read the week 15 blog post on wookiemouse's blog. Done
2. complete your progress report. Done
3. organize your inks, ink pads, and embossing supplies. Getting to it tonight. Really.

Here's my progress, so far:
week 01. space audit. Done
week 02. brainstorming. Done
week 03. clean slate. Done, sort of
week 04. paper. Done, but need to purge/use more. Or stop buying.
week 05. scraps. Done
week 06. photos. Printed photos are good. Bought software to organize digital files. Working at it bit by bit.
week 07. ideas. Are sitting in a pile under my table. Lots to do here
week 08. projects, unfinished pages, and kits. Need to break up some of my older kits. Have been using them more. UFO are corralled in a bin.
week 09. embellishments. Done, but could probably be improved.
week 10. alphas. Done
week 11. non-alpha stickers and rub-ons. Done
week 12. ribbon, thread, and fibers. Done
week 13. stamps. In progress. I got stalled here.
organize your stuff challenge (round 3). week 14. crop supplies. Didn't touch this one, really. But I did make up some page kits
organize your stuff challenge (round 3). week 15. ink, ink pads, embossing. Working on it tonight.

We just got back from DH's Christmas party. My youngest went potty on the potty THERE! I'm pretty sure people were thinking they were missing out on the party going on in the bathroom, LOL!

1. read the week 15 blog post on wookiemouse's blog. DONE
2. complete your progress report. DONE - see below
3. organize your inks, ink pads, and embossing supplies. - These are done. (my cats eyes are all in a jumbled mess...but it works because I don't use them that much and I don't have an over abundance of them)

Progress Report:
I'm stuck in stamp week but caught up on everything else. I should go up and grab my index binder, stamps and an ink pad and camp out in the bathroom with my potty-trainee! DH is watching football so he's no help, LOL!

I think I'll go snap some photos of all of my missing weeks and update my blog.

Yay half way through!! Thanks so much Crisann!

Organize Your Stuff Challenge (round 3).

organize your stuff challenge (round 3). week 04. paper - ok could be better,
organize your stuff challenge (round 3). week 05. scraps. - soooo out of control again. Need to rework this.
organize your stuff challenge (round 3). week 06. photos. NOT DONE
organize your stuff challenge (round 3). week 07. ideas.=- under control
organize your stuff challenge (round 3). week 08. projects, unfinished pages, and kits -done
organize your stuff challenge (round 3). week 09. embellishments-done and I like the way it is working except chipboard could be more accessible.
organize your stuff challenge (round 3). week 10. alphas-done
organize your stuff challenge (round 3). week 11. non-alpha stickers and rub-ons-done
organize your stuff challenge (round 3). week 12. ribbon, thread, and fibers - skipped this week-
organize your stuff challenge (round 3). week 13. stamps -skipped this week-
organize your stuff challenge (round 3). week 14. crop supplies-done.
organize your stuff challenge (round 3). week 15. ink, ink pads, embossing -done!!!! Yes all are sorted. Reinkers are arranged by ink type and then alphabetical by color. Supplies are organized. Embossing powders are organized either in original containers or those used more frequently in rubbermaid containers.

So perhaps this week I should get back to stamps

Yay, Mel!!! My littlest still doesn't do that - actually he'll only use ONE toilet in our house and the one at preschool/daycare. Luckily he's pretty good at holding on!

I am considering creating an index of ink and embossing powder colours, like this . But seeing as I haven't started my stamp index, well...

Oh, and as for my BPC addiction: Was I dreaming up something about buying a $100 GC and getting a $15 one free? I'm sure I got an email about it, but can't find it now. Don't really want to do it unless it's true. Anyone know anything about it?

2. complete your progress report.DONE

week 05. scraps. DONE
week 06. photos. digital pics-DONE. printed pics-currently pretending that they don't exist!

week 08. projects, complete pages, and kits. MAJOR project!! Another area that I'm procrastinating
week 09. embellishments. DONE
week 10. alphas. DONE
week 11. non-alpha stickers and rub-ons. Need to do
week 12. ribbon, thread, and fibers. DONE
week 13. stamps. Needs work - mostly in one place now, need to mount new sets and finish stamp catalog.
week 14. crop supplies. DONE
week 15. ink, ink pads, embossing. DONE
week 16. paints, glitter, and stickles. DONE
week 17. punches. DONE - Need to finish punch ring

week 20. die cuts. Need to purge old die cuts!!
week 21. pens and pencils. DONE
week 22. dies for die cutting machines. DONE
week 23. templates. DONE
week 24. memorabilia. MAJOR undertaking and one that scares me! I have so much stuff I have saved and want to use on projects.
week 25. negatives. Need to do - although I have no idea what to do with all those negatives.
week 26. new items and keeping it neat. Need process for putting new stuff away rather than just piling it up or stuffing it in a corner.

I will be laying low in the next couple of weeks. I am swamped with Christmas preparations, a slew of school activities this week, and dh's grandmother passed away yesterday. We are waiting to hear about the arrangements in NC. I am not going to have any time to work on scrapping stuff until after Christmas, maybe even the new year!

Mel - congrats on your potty training success. It's always such a pain going through it, but once you're done with it, it is well worth it!

Mel Congrats!

I am all caught up...ok stamps are organized, but not catalogued, but I know where everything is, even if nobody else does!
Oh, and I am still ignoring Ideas week.
I am actually pretty good up to chipboard...then (at chipboard) the work begins again.

Swamped in Dec whatnot and kids activities! Winter break begins on Fri!
Keep up the good work!

Weaser - sorry to hear about your DH's grandmother. And I am sorry that this happened at this time of year. It is always difficult.

Crisann - Why are we on page 2? One word: CHRISTMAS!

Ladies with children getting out of school - I was going to say something obnoxious about having an empty nest when it just dawned on me that my two college students (the other is in grad school) are coming home on Sunday UGH now I have to go to the grocery store and have to play Mommy for four weeks....dinner, laundry, cleaning, "Can I have the car?"...at least the potty training is done BUT they grow up PDQ so I will try to enjoy it

Thanks everyone for the thoughts and prayers! That really means a lot to me. She was hospitalized at Thanksgiving and put in hospice after that. We knew she would not live much longer. I am so glad that we got to see her Thanksgiving week. DH is flying out to NC this week. They are expecting a snow storm when he's scheduled to arrive.

Kids are out of school on Friday. My oldest with be home Wed, Fri and part of Thurs since he is exempt from all but one final exam. We have parties, choir performances and then the kids will be home and there goes my peace and quiet and any chance of actually getting anything done.

mel- love your storage. after Christmas I'll get back to it!

I don't have too many inks, ink pads, or embossing powders, but they are pretty much organized in either Sterlite drawers or plastic shoe boxes.

QOTW--I still need to finish organizing my photos and I need to get some layouts into albums. I keep procrastinating because I need to journal on those pages which I is something I don't like to do.

I'm swamped right now because I'm in charge of my neighborhood Christmas lighting contest and I'm been busy organizing it. When that is over tomorrow night I still have shopping and wrapping to do. So I may not get much done in my scrapbook room until after Christmas. I'm looking forward to it!

weaser, I'm so sorry to hear about your husband's grandmother; it's a hard time of year to handle that. But it is fortunate that you all had a chance to be with her on Thanksgiving. And maybe it will be easier to endure with all the "busy-ness" of Christmas. I hope that your husband doesn't run into any travel problems with the snow. You're in my prayers. Maria

Will try to post later with my org. update.

Weaser, so sorry to hear about your DH's grandmother. Hope the weather cooperates for your DH's flight.

My middle guy is home sick and I have a repairman coming to fix my oven this morning. Hopeing to get caught up on laundry and putting layouts in albums. If I'm lucky I'll get some UFO's finished. Lots of cookies to bake, shopping and wrapping to do. DS can't be sick for long! Friday is my personal deadline for shopping.

I'm sticking my head in the sand for the next week or two about organizing I think. Overexcited boys really wipe me out. Spending my evenings simply recovering from my days.

Love your stamp and ink storage Mel!

friday night, i got some bittersweet news... s/o accepted a position, travelling. so, he'll be in georgia for atleast a week next month, home for 4 weeks, then possibly back in georgia for another 2 weeks. after that, i have no idea what he'll be doing/what schedule he'll be working/when he'll be home - nice, huh?

i'm okay w/ the position, itself - great pay/great benefits. it's the no longer being able to schedule anything/not knowing what's going on from day-to-day that i'm not okay w/. part of me wants to celebrate/part of me want to cry, if that makes any sense...

this most certainly reminds me of when he was driving over-the-road, so, like i said, bittersweet.

i'll tell you all more later, when i know more... grr...

okay, so... at any rate, like i said, i have very mixed feelings about this whole thing, but it's supposedly a "done deal" now, so... blah...

i was trying not to say anything to anyone, but from what my boss told me, after he put in his notice here: it was the worst-kept secret of all time. everyone here, including my boss, knew before he even *officially* accepted the position. lol...

scrappn usmc- Love your storage! It is comforting to know that I am not the only one who loves stamps and inks!

Here is my round 3 inks

Crisann- you would be surprised how quickly you get used to it. My DH travels 1-3 weeks a month, and last holiday season, he was home for 9 weeks strait, and the kids wanted to know when daddy was leaving again so that they could have Chinese food and Pancakes for Dinner.

Hey Cristi-My DH also travels some. It's sporadic and messes with my schedule but you kind of get used to it. I like to look at the upside to those times he is gone...I get the bed to myself, the toilet seat is always down and the remote control is allllll mine, LOL! Hopefully you'll adjust quickly!

And the real question for today is...Do I take a nap? Or go reorganize my ink pads and 8 1/2X11 cardstock in ROYGBIV order (it's in SU color family order now)??? hmmmm......

Crisann - when hubby goes away about once or twice a month- the kitchen stays clean, the bathroom stays clean, the remote is all mine and I never have to watch a car show, my scrap supplies can migrate all over the house and are in no one's way, and I get the WHOLE bed to myself instead of finding myself almost falling off. It is hard at first but you do get used to it.

Scrappnbee- how do you get your paper into that order? Right now pinks are with pink and so forth but I am sure they could be more organized.

Mel - I hope you are not taking that paper to sort into the potty training room.

Lydia I did make an ink and embossing index card organizer and LOVE IT!

Kris= did you take a nap or organize!

Ok I am off to make a couple of cards and one more Christmas tag for tonight!

i don't know, but after the holidays, i expect alot more chatting on this thread! lol...

the closer we get to christmas, the quieter you ladies are.

at any rate, i hate being alone - hate it! i'm content just knowing someone else is in the house w/ me. lol... thor's going to be sleeping w/ me and probably dag too.

i'm trying really hard to wear my big girl panties right now, but they don't fit. lol...

LoveRibbons - Hardy har har!! Actually, I really did work a bit this morning on the new business venture, then wrote out a bunch of Christmas cards (yes, they're still not out ) and then came home and worked on a couple of gifts.

So no nap and sadly, no organizing (but that was Mel with that dilemma ) Survivor is on tonight and DS should be heading to bed soon so I might just get another shoebox stamped

OOOH!!!! Can you post a picture of your inks and embossing index?? Pretty please!!

Crisann - What I used to do that helped was kept the radio on 24/7. I hate the being alone at night. Yes, the bed I could take alone, it was just knowing I was by myself ... You will survive though. Even without the big girl panties

Oh yeah, I totally took a nap. Drank a cup of coffee and then zonked. It was kind of pathetic. SO, the only organizing I did was in my dreams, LOL!

Mel - WTG on your nap! I'm kinda jealous 'cause my brain generally won't turn off and let me sleep mid-day.

Cristi - I so hear you about being alone. Hate it too. You WILL make it, but doesn't mean you'll like it! When DH works evenings, I used to think that I'd have all that time to scrap without him, but never really worked that way. Generally moped on the computer listening for the garage door.

LoveRibbons - Would love to see your ink/embossing powder index. Is it portable enough to take to stores? I'm a bad impulse buyer with little dew drop and cat's eye inks.

I'm almost done my shopping, just my littlest's preschool teacher and a few stockings to fill. Just cookies to bake, tree to decorate, menus to plan, preschool party to attend (it'll be a zoo!), and DH's office party (very casual, drop in thing) before I can relax!

Lovesribbons- for the solid color CS, it was pretty easy. I went lightest to darkest starting with pink, then red...etc finishing with brown black grey and white. For PP, I actually sorted with a "broken rainbow". I started with yellow and then went green blue purple red orange brown as I could never decide if something was more purpleish or reddish sometimes. The same with orange and brown.

You can kind of see it here. This is my round 2 papers blog. It shows the PP layed out and the pic with the labeler shows the solid CS. Hope that helps!

scrappn usmc- congrats on the nap!

HEY!! Here we are still on page one at 4:23!! YAY!

Glad you were able to nap Lydia! Napping always messing me up, so I'd rather be a zombie until it's time to go to bed.

I've been wrapping up a storm today!! I thought that we didn't have very much until I piled it all up and stated wrapping. OMG!! An hour and a half later and I'm only half done!!! (But we do wrap all the stocking stuffers too and those small things seem to take the longest to wrap

Hope everyone's having a great day!! How's the moping going Cristi??

I am NOT looking forward to wrapping gifts. It always makes my back hurt and I usually wait until the last possible second to get it done too.

I organized my 8 1/2X11 paper today. So glad I did. I thought I was out of a couple of colors and found some "hiding".

During the holiday season do you all find you feel like scrapping more or less??
I have NO inclination to scrap right now...I'm kind of bummed about it too....

I hear ya Mel! I usually end up doing several marathon wrapping sessions as the only gifts I don't wrap are the ones for me.

I do feel like scrapping, but then I think of the cards I need to write out and mail, the wrapping still to do, the gifts yet to buy, the celebrations I need to make sur we all have things to wear for, the piled up laundry, and .... well, I just end up spending time here instead

I'm not "doing" xmas. House too messy to decorate. Kids grown. Visited daughter & family Tuesday & Wed (out of town). Going out to dinner, at friends' house. My natal family doesn't "do" xmas -- another story altogether! House still messy. How does one shed the 'messy gene!?!???'

Checking back in to catch up on my posting, if not my organizing!

weaser, I hope things are going well with your family and that your husband's travel wasn't interrupted by all this snow/ice.

crisann, I'm sorry that you're having to adjust to your s/o traveling so much; right now, I wish my husband was traveling! Just kidding, well, sort of. Maybe you'll get LOTS more sbing done while he's gone. And it's wonderful that you have your pets to keep you company.

scrappinJudy, I have my cat's eye/small ink pads in a little plastic case; I really don't have that many inks so it's working OK for me.

Kris74, again, your stamp index cards sound like a really good idea. I don't really have that many stamps, so I'm relying on my worsening memory to keep tabs on them for now. And I'm jealous that you have most of your wrapping done.

LydiaInk, hope your little boy is feeling better and that you got your oven fixed. He needs to get better so he can help you bake cookies.

scrappin usmc, Your ink pad storage unit is great! And it looks so neat.

LoveRibbons, you'll probably be waiting on those college kids more than on little ones! They eat so much!

ScrappnBee, I too have pretty much pretended that "ideas week" didn't happen. I'm working up to being brave enuff to do what scrappinJudy suggested: let them go. I hardly ever refer to any of it.

daisymarie, My inks, pads, and embossing powders are also stored in drawers. Since I don't have too many and I don't use them very much, it has worked out OK.

QOTW: Progress report
wk 4: paper (I thought I was done, but keep finding stray sheets here and there.)
wk 6: photos - I've organized quite a bit more, but still have more to go.
wk 7: ideas - can't get a grip on what to do with these...
wk 10: alphas - still working on these
wk 12: fibers - finished winding fibers onto bobbins; purged some; needs more "division" in drawers.
wk 13: stamps - mostly done; just need to buy some more "clamshell" things next time I get to A's.

Everyone, have a good weekend. I'm trying to finish up my Christmas and won't be able to organize any until after then. But I'm trying to keep up on the board. Maria

Great post Maria! I love how you touched base with everyone.

Scrappnbee--I read your blog link about organizing your paper and it was so funny. Now I know when you refer to your PA self, you don't mean your passive aggressive self. LOL

I have been busy this week with Christmas cards and being in charge of my homeowners association Christmas lighting contest. I still haven't gotten out to do any Chrismas shopping. Hopefully I can get something done this weekend.

Shocked is more like it Cristi!!

*sigh* back to wrapping. But I do see the end in sight .... only half a dozen or so more gifts to go. Then I can say we're ready for Christmas!!
