YAY!! Another easy week!!!

I store my punches behind the door on a shoe holder. I have 40-ish and they all fit. Even the EK Success Super big ones (Mega's??). Love them as they're accessible and convenient and I can see all my options at once. I just counted and I have 40-ish.

Nothing scrappy yet, but I still have a stocking at my parents to open. But *I* bought myself a few things I got Elizabeth K's 52 more scrapbook challenges, a calendar book by Amanda Probst (discounted so I think it must be old), the Wendy Smedley Organized and Inspired Scrapbooker and a calendar by Becky Fleck and Scrapbooks and Cards today ... What can I say, it takes me awhile to get on the Idea Book trend Besides, this was the only area I feel I've done a good enough purge in to warrant replacements

kris - where's my organized and inspired scrapbooker? lol...

i'm going to eventually get that book.

today, i'm not up to too much - piddling around/cleaning, wastin' away time on two peas, thinking about new year's resolutions - both scrapbooking-related and otherwise...

Re: Organized book - It's actually a really nice book with some great eye candy when it comes to organizing scrappy stuff. The only thing I don't like about it is there isn't a reference page that indicates where all the eye candy came from

I wonder now that the book is now in print whether the class at BPC would re-run? Anyone hear any rumours??

Merry Christmas!

Punches-organized in a wheely cart which now has the wheels off and forms a base for shelves. They are ordered by sizes. My kids are all home Path to my scraproom and laundry area is temporarily cleared so I may give stamps a try tomorrow since we will most likely be snowed in - enjoyed a lovely drive home in snow the whole way! Otherwise my plan is to get DH and kids to help with the photos!

"Santa" aka my eldest DD brought me a Sizzix snowman die and an multi-ornament die! I bought myself Page Maps 1 on sale while in Nashville.

So what is this "organized" book about? Does it have layouts??? How is the challenge book? I thought about buying it and thus avoiding taking another BPC class but I might experience class withdrawal

Has anyone signed up for classes yet???

loveribbons - the only class i've already signed up for is wellness journey - i'll sign up for y&t and olw towards the end of this week - wish i could find a promo code for them, or Ali would offer a "bulk discount." lol... $136 is alot, especially right after christmas.

I'm having a serious problem with my Lego HP game My thumb is KILLING me, from playing XBox for the past 4 days!!

LoveRibbons - This is the book.
Organization Book
No layouts, but lots of pretty ideas on organizaed spaces.

The 52 Challenges seem pretty good. I was worried as her (ELizabeth's) stuff isn't really my style, but I really like some of the ideas in there. Good for getting mojo going I hope!!

Glad you're enjoying your kids!!

Cristi - Maybe I should have signed up for one or both of those BEFORE Christmas so it wouldn't seem *so* bad all at once. I did sign up for May's class before the chaos started so that's a go for me

OLW only starts in February too doesn't it?? Maybe if we sign up for Y&T now (well later this week) and sign up for OLW in a couple of weeks it won't be too hard to swallow?? I also have a retreat that I need to pay for in January as well. I'm still really on the fence with the Ali classes, but let me know if you come across a discount code. That would help push me off the fence

kris - yea, i know... it sucks that all the good stuff is always all at the same time! lol...

oh, and s/o is leaving in what? like a week and a half or so?

between new year's break from work and the 8 or so days he's gone, i'll have lots of time in january to work on this stuff.

lately, i've been working on getting my journals caught up... that's one "project" that i may never give up. i've been writing everyday since 2003.

we were talking about a wedding yesterday and i told him i better get a baby out of this! i told him: "baby=domestication of woman" - he wants me to cook/clean. i want a baby. that seems like a fair trade. besides, if we have a baby, i'm going to be at home all the time, so i'll have lots of time to cook/clean... well, atleast in theory, b/c i know it won't actually work out that way. lol... but shh... don't tell him that!

Kris thanks for the link to the book. Will pass on that one. However I found my dream space! You will laugh - it is in MIL's basement. IT is huge. She had set up the old ping pong table and was using it for wrapping! Amazing! I went down there and found everything I needed to wrap her gift and then realized how great it would be to have an island in the middle of a space that size. In addition she has a full kitchen down there -well almost stove top with 2 burners, small fridge but a double sink and a counter you can sit at. It was the night before Christmas when visions of a luxury scrapbooking room outfitted with cabinets, electric devices, an island, and a stamping center were floating through my head Needless to say I was a bit distracted at dinner-LOL!

Crisann - As for babies and dinner - that would be an oxymoron. You will neither have time to make dinner nor eat it. You will only be able to master one or the other after baby two or three. You become a better multi-tasker with the addition of children...but baby number one your world is turned UPSIDE down

LR - That sounds like a wonderful potential set up at your MIL's. Can you convince her to start scrapping so you can capitalize on your dream space??

Cristi - I completely agree with LoveRibbons. I'd say we finally had our act together when Jer turned 3. But in the meantime, I got really good with the slow cooker and casseroles Neither of us had a hot meal in years, it was either lukewarm or cold. The house was cleaned while he napped. Once naps ended, there went the housework

Don't get me wrong, babies are fabulous and Jer was a dream baby - great sleeper and all.... But there's a lot of work too for those little bundles of joy!

loveribbons and kris - again, shh... don't tell him that! lol... the point is to coerce him to let me be a sahm - don't spoil it for me!

with the "wonderful" new job he's starting, it should be doable...

[notice the hint of sarcasm there - only in some ways is it actually "wonderful"]

if i have to deal w/ this trainwreck - pun intended - i want something out of it! so, hmmph! :rolls eyes:

when all is said and done, i always get my way around here - some things just take a bit longer than others.

besides, it's pathetic when even mama admits that christmas just isn't the same now that both my brother and i are adults -

christmas always brings w/ it a biological time clock, ticking like a bomb, ready to explode!

loveribbons - what's your name/nickname?

LoveRibbons=>Susan perhaps it should have been LoveStamps LOL

And forget EVER drinking hot coffee again because by the time you actually have time to drink hot coffee it will be painful to do so due to all the years of never getting the time to drink it properly. This is how it goes: 1. Baby wakes up. You nurse/feed the baby. Baby MAY take a nap. 2. It is now 6AM and you have been up most of the night you quickly put on the coffee and PERHAPS grab a shower or you chose to go back to bed. Either way a price to pay. 7:30A baby wakes up! If you went back to bed, you get up make a pot of coffee and NEVER take a shower. Baby is screaming and needs a bath. You pour your coffee but when you come it is cold. Realizing your day is doomed you quickly down your now lukewarm coffee. Or if you took a shower, the baby woke up while you were drying your hair, leaving you with half dried hair and no make up. You might still be in your robe. But your coffee is made, Ha baby is screaming and screaming. You try everything and are back to trying nursing the baby once again. So you sit down to nurse the baby and realize you left your coffee in the kitchen. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO STOP NURSING THE BABY to get that cup of coffee...so not worth it. So after the baby is fed AGAIN you gulp down your lukewarm or ice cold coffee and hopes of resurrecting your hair.

I worked part time for awhile but was SAHM for years. I really loved it. And they are so cute when they coo at you and all that good baby smell....Can you tell I am sitting here watching my three 20 year old something kids playing a game with their dad (sniff sniff) seems like old times only tomorrow I am determined to have a hot cup of coffee if the power holds up in this storm. They are playing Life on the Wii. Not enough controllers for me. DH's player just had babies - two boys. The girls are feeling sad and DS is laughing hysterically because he is an only boy...silly game!

Crisann meanwhile enjoy that coffee tomorrow morning

oh, susan - you can't scare me! besides, i don't even drink coffee.

now, moving forward - we're very, very slowly making progress w/ the house - very, very slowly.

i'm noticing this is becoming a trend in my life - very, very slowly.

hell, i may as well go back to school again b/c, maybe, by the time i get a bachelor's degree, his biological timeclock will have caught up w/ mine.

doubt it, but... i don't understand why that boy does everything very, very slowly.

p.s. - this round is quickly becoming "social hour" - where's everyone else? i'm starting to wonder if anyone is doing any organizing. lol...

Thank goodness for another easy week. I have about 20 punches, stored in several CM Daisy cases. For inventory I made several larger tags and punched one punch of each tag. All the tags are on a ring. I just need to make labels for the name of each punch and which case it's stored in. I will do this later this week and I'll post a pic too.

QOTW - I got lots of scrapping goodies. I got a slice, several paper packs and stickers, digital scrapping software, and a ribbon holder. Can't wait to get scrapping when the kids go back to school! I have my first crop on Jan 7. I hope to get a lot prepared for that and start the new year off with lots of scrapping organization.

Leisa - GO VOLS!

Completed 2010: 85
Completed 2011: cards - 16; los - 70
Completed 2012: cards - 26; los - 36
Completed 2013: cards - 13; los - 20
Completed 2014: cards - 0; los - 14
Mar goal: cards 0/4; los 14/4

Glad someone is still organizing!! Can you post pictures Leisa?? That is one thing I don't do is have an index of my punches.

Not to worry Cristi about the coffee. I found sometimes the only way to get a nap (and some piece and quiet ) was to drive. DS would nap, I'd have a nice hot coffee and all was good in the world.

Maybe once everyone is out of their candy cane coma, they'll get back to organizing?? For now social hour is fun

Kris back then there were NO drive through coffee places but if I did have kids now that would be a definite strategy. I did put them in the car and drive around. Once asleep if I could not move them without waking them I just sat in the car and read a magazine or dozed....

Leisa that sounds like a great system. Mine is not that good. Fortunately I do remember what I have as it is not that much!

Crisann- good luck with SAHM! Or at least a wedding?!

Lovesribbons-Congats on the dream space...even if you have to leave home to use it. I agree-Family & warm dinner =oxymoron! LOL!

Kris74-Congrats on the personal haul and the books! My husband and kids have had the Xbox going nonstop since presents were opened! I discovered the easy and mind numbing Bloons Tower Defense 4 on the inernet (solidgames.com) and have been vegging.

Weaser-Congrats on your first Crop! And the scrap goodies!

As for me, punches is pretty well organized (even if the scrap room is once again trashed!). I keep them in Iris 12x12 clamsheslls, so that the go to crops easily (and I do not have a door to use a shoe hanger). Punches Here-round 2.

Santa brought me a bigger tool caddy and a "free kidless weekend" to CKC Portland in March Thurs-Sun! Also, Santa gave me permission to take Ali Edwards class if I wanted.

Sorry about being MIA. Between working at LSS,Christmas Padgent, Christmas, sick 6yr old (thank you runny nosed choir of angels kid), Nutcracker tonight from santa, Boyscout winter camp tomorrow! My plate runneth over! Crisann- having kids means never being bored!

ScrappnBee that is quite a plate full and sounds like you got some nice goodies from Santa.

Has anyone taken one of Darci Dowdle's classes? I see it is only $18 and gets you using your stash? I think the email I got said she taught a Baker's Dozen. Missed that one.

I should be scrapping but am rather achy today from the long car drive and not sure my hands can work with scissors and paper today. I need one of those hot wax things for them....oh there is an idea. I have an credit card gift certificate to use from work. I could save it but there is $5 off here and free shipping and a gift if you order something new from Hero Arts...hmmmm

Anyone ordering anything?

Susan - Baker's dozen was a fun class, but not something in the "must do" list of classes for me. Yes, you DO a lot of layouts (I think she says 14 in this class??) and there are sketches and layouts to follow.

But what I didn't like is the randomness of it. You put pictures in various envelopes (she will say show a relationship, something with your favorite colour, someone with a funny face...) then a bunch of random things get collected in something else (7 green brads, yellow ribbon, red buttons and flowers....) all envelopes and "random things" (we used an egg carton for Baker's Dozen) are numbered. Then you make a layout with envelope #3 and random thing #7 using *this* sketch for inspiration. Fun, yes. Glad I did it once. But I didn't LOVE the class and there's way too many classes I'm excited about that I'm passing on hers this time.

I'm also going to take Ali's OLW (starts in January, not in february
like I thought - duh!) and I'm taking MAy's Creative Retreat in Feb.

I'm als going to sign up for the DYL self paced class, but maybe wait until the spring to start so it's not too much at once.

I think that's enough for me to juggle for now, considering I have a few from this year I still need to finish

oh, and bank account? what's that? s/o was *stupid* enough to give me a very generous credit card, which i seem to do more damage w/ than i did my bank account, when i was using that. lol... someday, he'll learn!

and i have to finish my december daily while he's in georgia b/c i got this really weird look when i was signing up for yesterday & today - the look of: :rolls eyes: "you haven't even finished the the most recent of your asinine projects yet!"

so, yea... he's not thrilled, to say the least. i said: "what else am i supopsed to do when you're gone?" lol...

that's okay! he hasn't even seen the damage for classes that start on the 1st of Jan. yet: one little word and picture winter.

owell, he'll get over it!

Kris you were in the Colour class? Didn't see you at all in there.

Both of you - we should add a thread to this one - a subthread. Which classes are you finishing today or something of the sorts-

As for gift credit cards spent all my work one last night here at Two Peas. Ordered some stamps and glimmer mist and some sale items.

Woke up with a sore throat today. My kids looks disheartened - what she won't be doing everything for us today????? Perhaps I will get them to go to the store and I can take a break and go in my room!!! At least I could print out all the handouts for the Colour class. Anyway definitely not taking Y&T - too expensive.

I thought I had my punches organized, but when I worked on a layout last night I realized I need to label my containers so I don't need to open so many to find the ones I want.

I store my punches in clear plastic shoeboxes in the closet. I have quite a few because I started scrapping back when punch art was popular, and I have added several border punches lately.

QOTW-- I didn't get any scrapbook stuff from Santa, but fulfilled my SB hoarder needs by buying a lot of the BG Jovial line this month. LOL

The online classes you are taking sound like fun. What is Y&T?

DaisyMarie - their classes are excellent. I would take the Ali Edwards' class but for the price. Too close to Christmas. And I love BG Jovial but have soooo much Christmas paper I could not justify it when shopping last night!

Anyone know of a good baby boy line? BG Oliver is not quite right. Need baby blues.

Kris - loved Nic's handouts but I have trouble scrapping without a grid like Cathy Zielske uses. So I am going to print out the handouts today and add grids with pencils.

Crisann -caught this from my sister-in-law....ugh! I have not moved out of this chair all day. Oh wait yes I did to let my DD have the couch not sure why I did that but...I heard talk that they will be going to the grocery store for themselves! I guess the bare cupboards are forcing them out! Whoo hoo!

Susan - I'm not sure if they're available anymore ... but I used BG Baby Boy and Dawson?? Dawson is definitely really old and might be hard to find, but not sure about Baby Boy.

Echo Park's new line also seems to have some baby blue papers. There's an ad for it up above, but I guess they don't change while you post??

Were you looking for a whole line, or just a couple of page to mix and match?? And good for you for not buying!!! I too have far too much Christmas stuff, but of course bought it a month or so ago when I saw it. No self control here I tell you!

So I finally went ON the Echo Park site to see the paper. There isn't that much baby blue, but it IS cute

Echo Park Baby Boy Paper

Organization resolutions??? None here really. The more time I spend in my room, the more I realize I really have FAR too much furniture in there!! Yep. One shelf has to go. Goal is by December 1st, 2011.

ScrappnBee - Hopefully he's warm enough! How long is he out there camping??

Back to scrapping I go ... finally found my mojo after the cookie coma

Kris 74- Great Goal! (an a doable deadline) mile

just two days in a tent in 4 feet of snow! At the last minute he tried to leave without his snow coat, but I pulled the Mom Card on that one. I don't think that the Adults will let him freeze. Its just the 12 means they are all grown up in their own mind!

Good morning! Someone please post! I need amusement. No voice and pounding sinuses and too much Sudafed! You get the picture

Scrappnbee -what is it with boys and winter camping and thinking you do not need a jacket??????? DS got the winter under armor stuff for Christmas. He likes to go winter camping still. Last time left the stuff in the car for four weeks. Guess who washed all his gear.....that was another week I got nothing done in my room.

Kris -printed out all the handouts from Colour class and going to study them now. Shall we set a goal for the red layout done by the end of next week???

Boy Paper - thanks for the suggestions. The Echo Park is just a bit too dark. This is for his newborn layouts. I will go on Ebay and see if the old BG lines are available. Who knows? But meanwhile I can make my own with baby blue cardstock and create a background with stamps inked with versamark or a shade of baby blue. I have the cloud background stamp and a few roller stamps from SU and could make some cute papers. May do that today. Won't require much brain power I could paint some chipboard with white and grunge it up a bit too. Thanks for the ideas!

Susan - Did you read the 15 pager on NSRB??? Oh. My. God. HILARIOUS!!! Mindless reading, but if you want entertainment - there it is!!

I'll have to post some pictures of DS's newboard pages, but the BG I used was basically circles/lines/rectangles .... you could totally dress up some cardstock. That would be awesome!!

So Costco (up here) is having their picture sale (10 cents a picture). Last night I spent 4 hours deleting, un-redeyeing, uploading and organizing.... I haven't uploaded anything since about April this year!! I think I'm going to spend part of this afternoon doing the same. DH bought himself a new monitor for the desktop and OMG what a difference it makes! My pictures lookg fabulous! LOL

SB - I can only imagine the attitude we're going to get once ours turn 12. At 5, he already has quite a bit of it mastered But as I keep telling him, for as long as I'm taller then him, I'm the boss!!

Lovesribbons-hope that you get better soon! You will have to share a picture of what you create for those newborn pics! I am sure that it will be cool.

Kris74- My 12 yr old got taller than me this year! I tell him that I can still yell up at him! ...and I get to until he is old enough to be drafted!

kris74 and Crisann- have you picked your word yet?

I was thinking of perserverence (as will have SIL w/3 mo baby and 20 mo baby) moving in during March as BIL goes to Iraq, but then DH goes to Iraq too in August! ...and the whole point of having SIL was to remind DH hw much work babies are! (do not mean to scare you Crisann)...

however, I was also thinking of a more upbeat word, but can't think of one...
