Wow, Cristi! Are you usually a night owl??

question of the week: what are your favorite pens/pencils for journaling?

Journaling??? What is that?? LOL! I'm just kidding (sort of). I have some Zig pens that I love. And my Signo white gel pen. And on the super rare occasion I need color I have the SU marker set.

Morning night owl Yep, easy week here. (Last time) I went through my pens and tossed all the ones I didn't use/dried out.

I like the Signo white gel pen - it's fabulous for dark layouts. I don't remember the black pen I use though ... I'll have to get back to you all on that one.

Have a great day ladies!!

Good morning. Wow Cristi, you are getting SO much done while s/o is in training! He'll be impressed when he gets home. And a rr job is supposed to be one of the best out there for pay, security, & benefits - a great base for starting a family!

Mel, I took your advice and checked out a couple of library books to fill in the "funk" time! A friend had given me the latest Alex Cross book (James Patterson) for Christmas and I finished it entirely too fast, so now I have a couple more to keep me going. In between organizing time that is!

Kris and Mel, I also really like that Signo white pen; I should probably get another one for backup. (Just in case it's discontinued like the Kyoku? tape and dot runner.)

QOTW: In addition to the Signo, I use my brown and black Slick Writers a lot. And a Zig Millenium .08 pen and a couple of Sakura micron pens.

Have a good Sunday everyone. Maria

mel and kris - yep, pretty typical, atleast before i started working 1st shift. now, i just stay up late on saturday night and try to make sure i get up early enough on sunday morning that i actually go to bed on sunday night.

when i worked 2nd shift, i used to sit and scrapbook all night - until like 5am, then sleep. that's when i was extremely productive. lol...

the goal here is to get the entire house organized - so all i really have to do is dishes/laundry/sweep/dust - without all the clutter, cleaning is so much easier.

well, that and trying to keep myself busy...

still slowly working on me: tav too - going through pictures - have about half of them picked out/resized, so i'm getting there.

maria - i know - that's the only reason he's in geogia. lol... it might suck right now, but it's for the best, atleast in the longrun, so... i'm coping.

eta: i just got informed that we might be redoing the enclosed porch sooner than expected - something about the foundation, i'm really not sure - can you say hostile takeover edition? lol... we'll see b/c i really want it 10x20 or 12x20, but that means redoing the roof too, so...

Maria - If you like James Patterson, you'll LOVE the Ladies Murder Club series, also by him. It's a series, but you don't really need to read them in order and each title has a number in it. They are fantastic!!

Hostile takeover of the porch sounds good Cristi!! Although maybe you *should* have let the bookshelves out there

So I thought before i started this post, I'd have a look at my pens to see what they are ... I think they're the American Crafts Precision Pens?? I have 3 of them. I *should* know what they're called, right?? But can I find ANY of them!?!?! ai ai ai ... Definitely need to clear out a bunch of crap out of my room!!

Pens: During week 3 I tossed everything I wasn't using or was dried out. I have my SU markers in their original boxes on a shelf, frequently used ones in a couple of adorable mugs in Expedit, Prismacolor pencils are in a cup like thing on my desk, and my Tombow markers and one copic are hanging out in a three drawer set with ink pads in the other drawers to keep them from my youngest DD. I have all this in my Expedit. She seems to stray from ink pads - THANKFULLY so they are hidden because she LOVES markers! And yes I have a thing for pens.

QOTW: Use my black Zig mostly, have a Signo white but tend not to journal with it- need to rethink that. I use my SU markers when I need a bit of color in my journaling but mostly I use the computer. My handwriting is horrible!

Maria - what books are you reading?

Cristi - LOL! You are way too funny. As for Me:TAV - not even started!

Kris - ok today purple page is getting done I hope. Where are you with color class? Are you feeling better?

Mel - I need help with not placing an order! I need some vellum. Seriously I do but I can and should wait

Enjoy the day! Susan

susan - excuse me? why am i funny? lol...

as far as me: tav - i need something like 13 more photos to make the 50-whatever it is. i think i already mentioned all the journaling is done (and has been done) - i like to write - maybe, a little bit too much.

on that note, i think i'm going back to photos week and reorganizing them b/c, at this point, i can't find anything. part of it, i'm sure, is the fact that i've taken so many pictures and not organized them - b/c i'm lazy like that.

s/o and i were discussing my enclosed porch b/c, i guess, the bottom 36" doesn't matter - that'll be drywall and cabinets. well, i wanted to hang cabinets as well, but i can't - b/c it has to be 75% windows to pass as an enclosed porch. stupid township codes! grr...

OK, Pens and Pencils (and markers) are: HERE!!!

Susan-I'm not help, I just got back from Michaels!

Maria - Glad you are finding something else to focus on, other than NOT scrapping. Can't force the creative!!

Cristi - best time to organize is when they are gone. Honestly, its when I'm the most productive. Mostly because I don't have DH standing over me asking "what are you throwing out...we might could possibly maybe perhaps use that one day...blah blah blah".

Kris - did you find your pens yet?

Time to watch football!

Mel - great system! If I had room on my desk I would try that! hmmm could work in my Expedit! What did you buy at Ms?

I am trying to work back her but youngest DD is on SKYPE And not video skype chat skype which means I have to type! This will be a very short conversation!

Mel - That would be a big, fat NO I've only gotten off the couch to make myself a tea. Am watching Ironman 2 with DS in a Spiderman costume (him, not me!) Lazy afternoons don't get any better then this

Susan - Remember the green layout I did last week? Yep, that's where I stopped Although this week has been a little bit busy and I still can't get into my room. Well, hopefully during my next burst of energy I'll get to clearing out the extras in the room ... just not too much energy today

I love my White Signo and my black Zig. I just recently purchased a Sharpie brown pen that I just can't do without now. I've been using a lot of kraft cardstock for my LO's and the brown is perfect for journaling. Lots less harsh than the black Zig.

I have my SU box of color markers/pens for stamping/journaling. I haven't used them in quite a while. Might have to make some cards or something soon, so I can use those PrismaColor pencils I had to have, after my friend gave a little demo on how to use them. Now she's a die-hard Copic fan. I only have one of those, so its not hard to keep track of it.

Kris-thanks for the recommendation on the James Patterson books. I have all of the books in that series, just haven't started reading them yet. I also have the 1st book in the Alex Cross series, which I had hoped to start soon, but I just finished David Baldacci's The Christmas Train yesterday, and next up is a Nora Ephron (sp?) book...can't remember the title right now.

Crisann- I completely understand the photo thing. I have bunches of photos that need to be printed, edited, and deleted from the holidays. It's a hot mess.

Off to watch some football.

okay, me: tav is starting to irritate me - tried using the 6-photo template to print the pictures and my printer's not having it, so...

either i'm buying another printer or i'm continuing this after he comes home - otherwise, he's not going to have a printer when he comes home.

moving on to checking out studios magazines and planning the hostile takeover. lol...

So I managed to get a little crafty this afternoon after all. After cleaning off my desk (and grumbling because I still have far too many stamp sets, LOL) guess what I did. Any guesses??

I FINALLY put together my "note pad" for the Me:TAV class!! I haven't done anything with it yet, just cut out all the "pages", decorated the cover and attached with a binder ring. I'm hoping to toss it into my purse for the next week while I'm out and about and hopefully will get going on this one soon!!

Still no more colour layouts ... I need to clear off the computer desk first and that just isn't happenning today

Hopefully will get a layout or two done tonight...

Happy browsing Cristi!!

Luvs2littleboys- thanks for the brown marker suggestion! Love it!

Kris - you were in Me:TAV too! OMGosh I made the tag book and never completely filled it out. Today I decided not to use the paper line I had selected and to go with something more mature. Moved the letters to safe keeping-an old stash of Heidi Swap vellum/plastic tags with black letters. Anyway gave up and worked on a two page lo of youngest DD's first steps and the other page is her at the airport going to London along with a picture of her straddling the prime meridian - I think I just repeated myself.

Cristi-I had no problem with the 6 photo template. In fact, I have used it on other projects. What kind of printer is it?

As for the hostile take-over, after a day with DH in his cave and me in mine I have decided I am expanding the room in the basement. This will be hostile because DH is a pack rat and in order for the expansion to occur something will have to be tossed! Today he tossed the bills from the first 20 years of our marriage I'll consider that a step in the right direction

kris - go you!

susan - i can assure you it's not the template, it's his printer. it's printing the pictures, but there's horizontal lines through them. i've already tried all his printer utilities, so... i'm slightly agitated. i was making good progress. owellz, i'll work on it another day.

started organizing pictures - i, honestly, don't understand how i "lost" an entire folder of pictures - jan/feb p365 from 2009. that irks me. i'm hoping they just accidentally got moved into another folder and i'll find them, eventually...

i guess i'm not the only one that's overly-ambitious w/ bpc, eh? i sign up for classes, thinking i'll have time to do the classwork during the class - i still haven't done dyl from jan 2010. lol... i also signed up for the challenge of me, 52 card pickup, @ home w/ claudine, y&t...

makes my head spin, just thinking about it...

Speaking of BPC, Cristi - did you hear about the Got Paint class?? This one really isn't my thing, but I thought of you as soon as I heard about it.

And yes, Susan, I love to sign up for the classes ... obviously don't love to finish them Thank goodness for the forever access now! Although something tells me I'm not the only one who's done this.

Mini QOTW:
Who is your favorite BPC teacher/class?
Who or what class did you not enjoy?

I LOVE May Flaum's classes!! I took Adventures in Scrapbooking (and almost finished it, thankyouverymuch )

I did not like Elizabeth Dillow's class re Inspiration. I just found it took artsy for me ... and I was also taking a few other classes at the same time so I probably missed something there.

Hi everyone!

I'll be laying low this week, I'm afraid. I took my mom to the hospital on Friday for a colonoscopy and she wound up in the OR having part of her bowel removed that evening. Surgery went well and nothing scary was found, but she's 82 and just had major surgery so recovery will take awhile. She looks so small and old in a hospital bed. I'm not used to seeing her that way. She learned to play pool last year and is the women's pool champion for her assisted living place. So I'm eating plenty of chocolate and sticking my head in the sand alot when I'm not visiting her or looking after the kids. I'll try to pop in later this week.

As for pens, I don't have many. I tend to chuck them and replace them as needed so they don't pile up. My favourite is whichever black or brown pen is close at hand, usually a Sigma Micron. I do have a stash of coloured pens that I never use. Guess I should check them.

Hope everyone's well and staying out of trouble! Hope the woodburner is behaving itself.

kris - who says you're allowed to ask a qotw? lol...

i love may too! i took camp scrap, use your stash, and i'm signed up for creative retreat - so angry that i missed go hybrid.

i really like cathy, but her classes are more design-related and as much as i like learning the concepts, i have to fight through the classwork b/c it's so - this size/that size - "inflexible," maybe, is a good word...

i was thinking of signing up for the paint class and jenni bowlin's class, then taking a break for awhile. i need to get some of these finished before s/o throws another tantrum.

even after i said no more spending, i still bought a book and a hole punch (for jewelry making) on amazon last night. lol...

oh, and claudine's class. that's probably the next one - after i get me: tav/dyl done, that i'm going to concentrate on.

i need to get organized w/ bpc b/c i've signed up for so much and completely finished like nothing.

then again, i need to get organized w/ alot of things...

speaking of organized, i organized all my scraps - i, usually, let them pile up for a few weeks/projects before i put them in their iris cases.

another mini-qotw: do you print the bpc class hand-outs/put them in your inspiration book? i'm thinking of doing that w/ certain classes: start here, w/ stacy, big idea festival, embrace imperfection, basically the free ones...

lydia - i'm so sorry to hear about your mom! did they puncture her bowel? i hope she recovers quickly!

Hi all

I thought I would share my new decor space and the new home for my Stickles and reinkers since I decided to retire the cubby that fell off the wall. I quite like this new arrangement. Thanks for your help in making this decision.

repurposed space

Pens were done round 2 here

QOTW I usually grab whatever fine tip pen or marker thats closest which is usually my Tombo dual tip markers.

Wow! you ladies have been busy today!

Mel-LOL about the bears! Many of Girl Friday's elephants were from Target at Christmas and they have the year on them! Love the crystal light container idea! It looks like something I could get at Ikea!

Crisann-I print my class materials. It is totally old school, but I like to have the paper copies when I work.

Thanks to all for your coments to Girl Friday!

Lydia-I hope that your mom recoves soon. You are in our prayers.

Jen-Like the remodled space!

QOTW: I am also a Zig user.

Good morning everyone. I didn't get any organizing done yesterday, but I did work on an unfinished album (from one of Lisa Bearnson's QVC books) that I found in my bookcase where it shouldn't have been. So that's progress down a different path...

My pens and markers are stored in drawers, except for the ones I'm currently using, which are on my tabletop within reach. My Zig colored markers are in a divided cardboard container that I bought when I first started sbing and in a drawer within reach. I mostly just use the black, brown, sometimes a blue or red. But I HAD to have all of those colored markers years ago! Probably should go thru them and toss the ones that are dried up. My Prismacolor pencils are in their orig. box stored in a separte drawer and since I'm not very artsy, I don't use them much. But it makes me happy that I have them...

Lydia, So sorry that your Mom had to have surgery: I hope that she makes a quick recovery. She sounds like a fun little lady.

cristi, You know on home projects it always takes twice as long and costs twice as much to finish! Your porch will really be nice even if you decide not to use it for sbing. And could you hang wall cabinets on the house side of the porch? At least a few?

Kris, I really liked your "Lolli" l/o; left you a comment. What line was the work-truck paper? And yes, I've read several of the Women's Murder Club books;in fact, one of the books I got from the library is the 8th one in the series. Thanks for the recommendation. And it would have been OK if you'd watched "Ironman 2" in the Spiderman costume - we wouldn't judge!

Susan, The other book that I got from the library was also a James Patterson: "Beach Road". I usually go thru kicks trying to catch up on a certain author; esp. in the winter. To answer your sewing machine question fr. last week, mine is in a closet off the kitchen and it's a pain to drag it out when I have to hem or mend something. It's really old (I think I bought it in like 1980 with OT money!), but still works fairly well. Sometimes it has tension issues (like Amanda's machine) or it could be just operator issues in my case.

Jen, your stickles,re-inkers and mists storage is beautiful - it looks like a perfect solution. And your display area is so pretty with the dress form on the shelf. Do you have ribbons on the dress form or what is decorating it?

Lisa, I've got to find one of those brown Sharpies! Thanks for mentioning it.

Have a great day everyone; I'll try to be more productive today! Maria

maria - to some extent - yes, but s/o thinks we need to have two windows and a door there, so... i think, considering it's an enclosed porch, that's wasted space. lol...

Maria & LoveRibbons- I found my brown Sharpie in the art section at HL by the Copics.

mini QOTW: I love May Flaum classes! I think the only one I've missed was Camp.

I have to start TAV. It's in a binder, and hasn't seen the light of day since I printed it out. Makes me mad because I was so excited to take the class and I haven't done anything with it. Still finishing up JYC/Dec Daily. At least, my P365 is up-to-date. So much for one project at a time, right?! I don't think I've taken a class at BPS that I didn't enjoy...although some of their 'free classes' are just okay. I still learned a bit of something.

I was on May's blog this morning and she mentioned something about a "spring class she's getting ready for in May". So clear your calendars ladies

Susan - I'm not sure on the exact line of that truck paper, but it was 3 Bugs in a Rug. Not *too* old. I think I bought it last year, possibly the year before.

Wish me luck - I'm hopefully going to have my first contract this afternoon. Now if only my stomach would settle down!! I've been a bundle of nerves since I work up this morning!!

Kris-Good Luck!!!

Mini QOTW: have only taken 52 card pick up and OLW. Both have been fine so far.

Temporarily hating DH as he is boarding a plane for work today for balmy SanDiego...although we are not nearly as cold here as you all in the NE!

here is pens (round 2)

QUOW--Most of my pens that are colors are by Zig. I also have a few Tombow and CTMH pens. I've had them for years but they still write. I don't use them very often anymore and store them in my closet in a plastic container.

My black pens are also by Zig. I use them for outlining so they get more use. I keep them in my Toteally Cool bag.

I've done more scrapbooking this month than the last four months put together. I think trying to organize has made me more aware of what I have and has motivated me to put some of these supplies to use.

Amanda - left here at -13F and came home at 0. It was briefly up to 4 during the day. Tomorrow a heat wave of 30 degree temps starts!

Kris - how was the interview?

Lydia - so sorry to hear about your Mom? How is she doing today?

Luvs2lillboyz - I found a brown pen in my stash and used it! Looked so much better than black.

DaisyMarie - I too think I am doing more because I know what I have AND I can find it.

That said in the middle of finishing a lo I realized alpha system was not working for me so I stopped and reorganized by color in my CH filing thingy. Spooled ribbon is also not working. I have to lift two heavy items to get to them. I am going to sort by color into ziploc bags and put in a wheeled drawer unit that I TOOK OVER.

Pictures are still my downfall. Oh and I redid all my stamps except SU stamps. I am going to stamp them on index cards and leave the index cards in the proper box so I know I have a certain flower in a SU set as well. I just do not have enough room in my boxes to break the sets apart.

hi ladies!

i made thor and i dinner - yes, i did say thor and i... i'm eating grilled cheese and tomato soup. thor ate half a grilled cheese. he seemed really happy to get his own little sandwich. i normally just give him a few bites of mine. lol...

i think we're going to be forever-organizing because we're forever-shopping.

okay, so moving forward...

lisa - good luck! me: tav is starting to frustrate me.

kris - yay for may flaum classes! did you get the contract? oh, and right - the bookcases. i like them just fine where they're at. lol...

daisymarie - you go girl! see, we're a good influence. lol... even i've been taking steps in the right direction.

amanda - did you actually finish your 52 card pickup deck?

susan - a little bit of ADD there? lol...

mel - just remember - it's never a waste a money b/c no matter how much/how little you actually do, you're still getting something from it.

alright, i'm going to finish eating and spend some time w/ thor - he misses his daddy. i might work on me: tav some too.

did i tell you ladies that i got "a" and "b" completely finished - working on "c" and "d" - yes, i'm in the assembling stages, finally.

have a nice night!

Woo Hoo DaisyMarie! -glad that the ways of Zen Master Wookiemouse work! I too have been more productive since I started cleaning up...unfortunately I am a total slob when I scrap...but at least now I know where to put it away when company comes!

Cristi-Ha! I saved all the info to a memory stick. Silly me for taking a class that overlapped summer. For me, that was more about having the ideas then ness. executing them.

I am debating staying up late and baking cookies or getting up early...thinking getting up early. DS#1's doing math on running a bakery. Math teacher said that they would get extra credit if they brought in 2 doz cookies with project...

So Amanda - are you up baking yet? I agree - sometimes it was more the ideas from the class, that I wanted, not necessarily being in the class. Book of Stories was like that for me.

Cristi - I love grilled cheese too!! My meeting was at a restaurant yesterday and the special was grilled cheese with pear and carmelized onion. YUM!

So speaking of the meeting, no contract yet But it's looking positive. Hopefully I'll hear something next week.

Daisy - I'm the same. Playing (er organizing) my stuff gets my inspiration going and I usually end up with more layout ideas then I have time to do!!

Maria - The truck paper was 3 Bugs in a Rug and the line was Playtime. It's a reall cute line for little boys - there's dinosaurs, boats and of course the trucks.

Jen - I love your new found space!! And that's a great deal on the frames - I'll have to check my Walmart here to see if I can find the same.

I need to get the little guy off to school so I have my blissfull 2 1/2 hours to myself

amanda - are you gonna disappear again during the summer... or are you, atleast, going to stop in and say hello? lol...

the free classes and, sometimes, may's classes are like that for me - basically, the classes that are not technique/project classes - all the handouts/downloads are going to end up on the external hd.

kris - *chin up* you'll get it! thor loves grilled cheese too! s/o thought i was crazy when i told him i made the dog his own half grilled cheese sandwich.

owell.

so, did you guys see the scrap room tour that was posted yesterday on the gs board? i want a digital camcorder. lol...

have a nice day. i'll be back, at some point.

No, I didn't see that tour ... I'll have to look it up.

Amanda - I agree. Maybe now that we're chatting, maybe more then organizing you can pop in once in awhile guilt free

I'm still trying to not talk myself out of working out this morning. Problem is I feel like crap Stupid head cold/flu thing going on ...ugh

oh, and for that matter, the scrappin' shed update - i actually bumped that thread this morning. lol... i was looking at it.

i'm bored - i'm pondering where - as in what room - i want to be... the enclosed porch - when it's redone, the basement - when it's finished, or the second floor of the garage - when it's built. basically, i'm dreaming. lol...

wherever i decide, though, is going to be expedited, so it gets finished - this isn't going to take forever.

the enclosed porch would be nice and well-lighted, but an odd size - like 8x20 or 12x20 w/ no wall space, b/c, according to the twp, it has to be 75% windows.

part of me wants to cut down on the shopping and start trying to downsize. in that case, the enclosed porch would be more than sufficient.

more rambling, stream-of-consciousness thoughts to come later on my other two options...

have fun!

Kris (and Cristi)- I have a feeling that 2 peas may be my lifeline once summer hits this year (esp with all the extra little ones underfoot) I love grilled cheese and tomato soup too. I lile my tomato soup with cheesy croutons! ( I know. It is wierd )

I like that we are more chatty! It gives me someting to look forward to pulling up! Thats cause all yall are awesome!!!

Cristi- I think it is a matter of where will you hang the most. If/ when you have a little one, would you rather live mostly on the main floor or basement. I moved my scrap room because the main floor is where the family is (and now DH does his homework in there on his laptop to " keep me company ".

Oh! And the cookies came out fabulous! I got the first two dozen out of the oven before school, and the last four after. We never used the dark chocolate and mint chips from Christmastime...so this morning I made choc choc mint cookies. they taste just like thin mints ...if thin mints were soft and chewy!

Glad the cookies worked out Amanda

You have to also consider a playroom though Cristi. Unless you're wanting toys ALL OVER your house, consider a playroom!! But I won't guarantee you'll have a Fisher Price party in your house even with a playroom

Cristi- I second the playroom! My kids sleep in their bedrooms and play in the playroom. I even gave the boys the option at the last house to split rooms and give up the play room. No dice. However, being sent to your room is truly a punishment Maybe that enclosed porch can be a mommy/ child split when the time is right?

love the inspiration scrap room!

Judy-trust me. He needs it. Just came home with a 78 on last test, and is right on the B/C border. Only the midterm left now.

OMG Cristi - that room is AMAZING!!! I love that pegboard - I may have to see if I can fit something like that in my room too. Her room looks so light and airy, but I don't think I could have everything out like that. I'd need more closed doors I think.

That's an interesting idea re the shared space!! I'm thinking that if I ever can find a decent armoire (or win the lottery and buy a Scrapbox ) it's going in our family room. Even though my scraproom is on the same floor as the family room, I still feel isolated.

Although if I was scrapping more, I'd probably be on here WAAAAAAYYYYY less, so that wouldn't necessarily be a good thing either

my child(ren) are not sharing my scrapbooking room! can you say wide-open french doors between the living room/enclosed porch - i can see them, i can hear them. lol... besides, maybe, i can talk s/o out of the other two windows he wants to put there. what an idiot!

yep, i liked the peg board. when we finish the porch, s/o claims 3 out of 4 walls will be able to be finished - before we finish the living room, that is - when we can finish the living room, we can finish the 4th wall. in the interim, peg board sounds good to me. lol...

oh, and i pulled out the tape measure tonight - my porch will be just a tiny bit bigger than my living room if he rebuilds it 12x20.

our downstairs is such an open floor plan now, though, especially since he was ripping down walls. someday, i'm going to get those pictures scrapped. lol...

i am so tired and cranky today and i really don't know why. other than i haven't been sleeping well since he's been gone.

Lots to catch up on even though I was pea-king at work

Amanda - we will let your making the cookies slide this time They sounded yummy! And I would be happy to keep you entertained this summer. Although my DH will be here so will my 22 y/o son and 21 y/o daughter and quite possible my 24 y/o daughter. This means 5 adults with lives of their own who expect me still to cook dinner and clean up but come and go and invite everyone over as they please will be driving me CRAZY

Crisann - yes a playroom although mine were allowed to keep their playmobil in their rooms. Legos in playroom and playmobil upstairs - kept the small stuff from co-mingling! When they wanted to play together with their playmobil they just brought out to the hall like the hurricane they had. Seriously complete with make-shift hospital triage unit! Also think now about how you want to store things. It is easy to lock drawers down below rather than have open shelving below. Plus they pull up to stand about age 1 or sometimes younger so your work surfaces need to be protected.

I did have my area downstairs in legoland and that was really nice except that was when youngest DD began to pilfer my supplies And then I moved upstairs because no one was down there anymore and now DH is down there for hours at a time and I am up here so I think it is time to expand and go back down there. However, with two Expedits to move - they are extremely heavy - I think there will be lots of complaints!

Kris - love that room too. That pegboard with the paper underneath -unbelievable! Showed it to DH who said, "Why do these women want to make their rooms look like stores?" walked off in disgust. Now mind you his tools are on a guess what? PEGBOARD! But actually that scrapbook room was a little too organized for me. I need a bit of a mess - I like to feel I can touch things and not get too frazzled about where they go.

Jennifer Mcquire used peg board to hang punches. I like her room a lot and Nichol Mcgourick's too.
peg board for punches

Have a good night!

Susan- Awww. You are the best! and if you need to go Thelma and Louise and run away from home...you are always welcome out this way (even though it will be like the little old lady who lived in a shoe out here)... I think the kids need to grow up and at the very least provide take out

Kris- If you made more LOs then you would *gasp* catch up to today and then have loads of time to hang with us and go peaing.

Ok, my son totally does not understand the whole butter up the teacher thing. He dropped one of the cookies, and so he told her he had enough for all the students, but not her (because he did not want to share a dirty cookie). Did he get a cookie? Yes. Are there like 2 dozen cookies at home? Yes...Seriously the boy has a lot to learn.

Checking back in to see what you gals have been up to. I still haven't started on my pens/pencils (weeding out the dried up ones), but have been doing a little sb-ing (on the gift sb.) And I've been trying to come up with a better solution for my alphas since I'm still having to sort thru so many when I need alphas.

Lisa, thanks for the info on the Sharpie. On my list for the next trip to HL.

Kris, Good luck on your contract; your interview in the restaurant sounded exciting - I would've been too nervous to eat! Thank you for the info on the 3Bugs paper and I hope that your cold doesn't hang around long.

Amanda, San Diego sounds wonderful in January; hopefully he's bringing you back something really nice. So glad your cookies were a success; I just made cookies yesterday too (and only becoz' I'm a hoghead). Your son's cookie "extra credit" should be documented on a l/o- his story was hilarious. If you remember "Forrest Gump", you know what his Mom did so he would graduate!!!

Cristi, Thor has good taste; who doesn't like grilled cheese? I didn't realize that there were codes to regulate what an enclosed porch could be; maybe we do need smaller gov't.? Thanks for the link to the sb room - it was beautiful. Her husband did a great job, didn't he? Maybe that will give s/o some ideas for your new space! And only a couple more days till he comes home!

Susan, Boy, you're on fire! My alphas need to be re-done too. The way I did them in alpha week must have been just a temp. fix. And I'm still working on my photos too. I just finished sorting/org. a bunch of pictures from work, but I still have lots of older photos to figure out how to sort.... Maybe this summer you could revive the old chore-chart from when the kids were little?!

Mel, I've only signed up for 2 free classes at BPS: the "start Here" (I did read all of that) and the "Embrace Imperfection". I'll see how that goes and then maybe sign up for another later.

daisymarie, You are so right - finding stuff that we don't remember having is like getting instant inspiration. I even used a foam stamp yesterday!

Lydia, how is your little Mom doing? I hope she is upbeat and looking forward to getting back to her pool games.

Judy, hope you're having a good week too.

Will check back in later. Maria

have you guys really looked through the scrap room gallery, here, on two peas?

the top 3 scrapbooking rooms i are:

1. wookiemouse's room
2. connie's scrappin' shed
3. jennifer mcguire's room

amanda - i still can't believe the whole cookie situation - too funny! lol... you're right! that boy does have alot to learn. lol...

susan - sounds like you're going to have fun this summer!

round 2's - do you guys remember my "kids" from last winter? i'm so glad that's over with. lol...

maria - alphas - um, yea... about that - i just seperated my thickers from the rest of my alphas, stuck them in baskets, and called it a day.

oh, and as far as the enclosed porch thing - in theory, i can do whatever i want - as long as i'm not taking something and making it something it's not. so, we have to keep it classed as an enclosed porch to avoid the whole building permit/re-appraisal thing, which means 75% windows. trust me, if i could talk him into it, i'd like to add an addition, but he won't add on, only replace what we've got b/c of the building codes.

be back in a bit!
