Sorry that I have been so quiet lately! DH has been in and out on travel & drill, so one mom, 3 kids and who's on first?

I am not sure what I am supposed to organize this week. It is probably because I am a techno rock, and do not know what to do with my microsoft word fonts but click on them.

I am a traditional scrapper! (again, the techno rock) LOL

hi all

cristi- I love the waves

This whole organizing thing would be good if I would stop ripping apart quiet undisturbed areas of my room, this last week it was files, I needed to go through them and get rid of old bills that have been paid(we generally only keep last years and the current year but I hadn't done it for a few years now)and I needed to find the info we need to take to the bank, it looks like after waiting three years since the landlord offered the place to us that now he is actually going to go through with selling it to us. I'll actually believe it when we sign the papers. Hope he doesn't back out.

I'm really excited for next weekend though because my boss is taking me with her to a retailers event, where I get to take some classes from Ranger(Tim Holtz!!!!), Graphic 45 and Bo Bunny! Can't wait!

As for this weeks organizing, I don't have much for extra fonts so I'm thinking I might leave them and try to get caught up on other things like cataloging my liquid mediums ie, stickles, GM, crackle paint, markers etc... I found two bottles of stickles that I had bought doubles of, I'm starting to loose it.

QOTW:I am mostly a traditional scrapbooker but I want to do hybrid and I've probably collected just as much digital SB stuff as real stuff, because its soooo pretty

How can it be week 27 already?! Almost finished with this round!
QOTW: traditional - I like the feel of the paper and stuff stuck to my fingers and looking for tiny little pieces of this'n'that in my carpet. And I know that I'll NEVER be computer-savvy enuff to be digital.
As for my fonts, I only have the ones that came with my computer; it crashed a year or so ago and I lost all the ones I had. Although I do need to try and find them again. Is it true that once you purchase a font from 2Peas, you can always download it again?

Cristi, First of all, your hair is beautiful! Perfect amount of "waviness". And you have a nice profession in the wings in case you decide to do something different. (Although I did have to look up what an "esthetician" was!)

Kris, Welcome back.

Judy, Don't be bored - get up into that room!

Amanda, We have now finished our 3rd box of G.S.cookies. The diet has been put on hold for a couple more weeks...

Jen, Good luck with your house. At least you have your paperwork ready. And what a great weekend you'll have! Take pictures for us.

I'll probably use this week to get back to work on my gift sb (yep, still not done). I did 4 pages for it yesterday and got some more photos copied (Walgreens has a pretty good coupon) so it's time to get it finished and start on the other one I have to do. I'd really like to sb my own photos... Maria

what kind of scrapbooker are you?

I am not a digital scrapper but I've been known to print off my titles or my journaling on the computer. Thats about as hybrid as I get.

My fonts are as organized as they will get since I don't use them much anymore.

Have a good week everyone! (DH is deploying this week so I'll be around but probably not chatty.)

QOTW: I'm a traditional scrapper. The only time I use my computer for scrapping is for journaling.

I don't need to organize my fonts because most of them came with my computer. It's a good thing because this week I'm going to be busy getting my midterm exams prepared and given. I'm looking forward to Spring Break next week so I can get something done in here!

you ladies are quiet!

s/o, for some reason, thought it'd be a good idea to leave me a list of things to do. talk about irritating! i was not a very happy camper when i came home and saw that, so i went shopping. lol...

fwiw, i did, eventually, do the things on his list -laundry, garbage, dishes - like i needed a list to begin with... i think i'm smart enough to figure those things out on my own. duh!

someday he'll learn to just leave me alone.

have a nice night!

LOL Cristi! DH tried like maybe the first year we were married. I told him I was not one of his sailors. I was a civilian and a taxpayer and therefore outranked him! It totally is a guy thing. Dont they realize that we multitask?

Mel, You must be having a ruff week with your husband deploying; best of wishes and many prayers for you.

Daisymarie, Hope the mid-terms go well - at least you have Spring Break to look forward to!

Cristi, What is it with men? I reckon they like to have that illusion that they're in control.

Amanda, From all the activities and volunteering that you do, you must run a pretty tight ship at your house.Your husband knows better than to interfere! It amazes me that you can get so much done. Of course, you DO have all of those "alter-egos" to help you!

Have a great day everyone. I did manage to do 2 more pages for the gift sb - slow... Maria

Just wanted to bump back up

Cristi - I LOVE the waves!!! Nice work. And O.M.G. re the list. DH knows better then that as well ... but if he didn't, it would be *my* laundry that got done and *my* dishes that got washed. Then like you, I would have totally gone shopping

Just curious though, he's working 2nd shift right?? So what was on his chore list??

Maria & Amanda - So far no cookies here, but I completely agree.... when it's cookie time, scales don't exist either!!

Mel - Enjoy your week with DH!

That's all I can remember and of course I have a headache. Although this time I can blame it on the rugrats - I was making pancakes at DS's class this morning and it was NUTS!!

Hey everyone! I'm ignoring fonts this week, mainly because I haven't gotten around to installing any since we got a new computer last year. I don't really do computer journalling, so haven't missed them.

QOTW: Traditional. Make occasional forays into hybrid, but that's about as far as it goes. Love using my hand and feeling the paper.

So instead of fonts, I'm (FINALLY!) starting to index my stamps. I figure it's something that I can do a bit at a time if I leave some supplies on the dining table. I'd go nuts working at it for hours, but 5 minutes here and there might actually make a dent in it. We'll see. Problem is that the boys caught me working at it this afternoon and wanted to stamp too. Then it became a three boy circus competing for the stamps and me getting nothing done. Might be an evening job after all.

Cristi - So did you tell him where to put his list? I'm a stubborn, ornery old mule about stuff like that. Even if it was what I planned to do that day, I'm make sure to NOT do it! And suddenly its his job. Love your waves, BTW.

Kris - good to 'see' you again!

Mel - enjoy your time with DH this week.

Maria - yes, you can still download your 2p's fonts. Just look at the top right corner of the screen for 'Downloads' (under Classes & Events), they should be there.

Jen - lucky you! I'd be beyond excited to take a Tim Holz class! Report back with lots of photos, please!!!

I went to my first physio appt. yesterday and am STILL sore today. I was getting used to having no pain. But he was impressed by how much I could do already, so that's a good thing. Got some exercised to do to get more flexibility.

Mel- *hug* somehow I missed the DH deploying thing! I am sure that you have a great support network, but if you need someone on the other end of the laptop to share margaritas and scrap (My mom said to never drink alone!) I'll be here channeling the little old lady who lived in a shoe....and happily join you!

Unsure exactly when SIL and the tribe arive here, but their packers show up on the 14th.

Middle DS finally got the stomache thing. There goes my plans for the day tomorrow!

Just catching up with you guys again. I did a little more work on my gift sb and hope to do another couple pages today. Raining like the dickens here so a good day to play inside. (Still looking for part-time work...)

Kris, Do you take a migraine medicine for your headaches? I don't have them as much as I used to, but I take Imitrex for mine. Usually it seems like they hang around for about 3 days and then I may not have another one for a couple of months. Hope you're feeling better today.

Lydia, Thank you, thank you for the info on downloading my fonts. So that's what I can do for "fonts week"! Sounds like you're really coming along quickly with your hand - you'll be cracking the whip on that 3-ring circus in no time!

Amanda, Hope your little one is doing better. Gingerale, plain boiled potatoes, chicken noodle soup??? Everyone has their favorite treatment, don't they? And you all are angels for taking in your SIL and family while her husband is deployed; are their children close in age to your all's? As you said "Embrace"!

Hope everyone has a great day. Maria

hi y'all!

did i ever mention how much i love you all? lol...

all i have to say is each and every one of you had better be present and accounted for when we start round 4 - even if you're just here to chat and not to organize - got it?

good!

so, i think he learned his lesson - when i came home today, there was no chore list, just a box of pizza (you know, the kind you make from scratch - i said i was craving it last night).

alright, so this second shift thing is not flying w/ me. i hate it. this is worse than georgia. atleast i got to talk to him then. lol...

well, have fun! i think i'm going to go find a good book.

Hey!
Easy week for me. I've got no fonts to play with.
Guess that means I need to get to work on everything else I'm behind in.

Going to concentrate on my JYC/DD this weekend...it's almost the middle of March and it hasn't seen much progress. Wish me luck on cranking out those LO's.

DS has 1/2 days the rest of the week, so I'll be running him around with me on errands. Fun.

QOTW: what kind of scrapbooker are you?

a. traditional
b. hybrid
c. digital
d. all of the above - it just depends

Definitely, a.

Sorry, I haven't been on this thread much this week. Been kinda crazy. Hope all is well with everyone.

Before I forget...Thanks for the comments on my mini-album, too. I never did hear from her, if she liked it or not. Glad those of you who saw it, liked it. I thought it was kinda cute once it was finished. Believe me, I was intimidated by the talent of those ladies on the swap board. Wow.

Cristi-rot round 4- if you need help to shre the lod, you could always assign one of us repeat offenders a week or a month. They do that over at Calendar Girls. Also, sorry about the 2nd shift! It won't last forever!

Maria-Thanks! Um no. SIL's kids are 3 mos (and if I understand correctly VERY colicy) and 20 mos. Mine are Kindergarten, 2nd, 7th grade.

2 kids down now with fever and one to go (complaining BTW that it is not fair that he cant stay home because he is unlucky enough to have a good immune system!)

Good morning font organizers; well OK, "catching-up organizers", or maybe "just thinking about organizing organizers". Today a couple of friends and I are going to CKC-Louisville for a few hours to take a couple of classes and wander around. I don't have much to spend, but I love to look at new stuff and marvel at the ways they have it displayed. We're taking our lunches so that will leave a few more bucks to spend on paper!

Cristi, Maybe s/o won't have to do 2nd shift too often, especially after he's been there for awhile. But you're young and adaptable so you'll make it! At least you have several diversions with sbing and your jewelry-making. And you like to read. And you have us!

Lisa, Hope your week is going well with your little helper home with you. Grilled cheese and rubber stamping, hmmmm

Amanda, Wow! SIL's babes are really babies! What an interesting dynamic you'll have there. (Might be a sit-com in there somewhere!)
Hope your kids are feeling better by now; so funny about your good-immune system child. Your card was so pretty - the inking on the edges was perfect - I can never get my inking to look that good. Congratulations on getting more l/o's of your husband's deployment done. And getting him to journal. Loved the "tobacco warning" photo.

Judy, Kris, Lydia, Daisymarie, Mel, Jen, and anyone else dropping in, Have a great day and a wonderful weekend. Maria

we are OK here! My scrapbook room is at 400 ft...and yet while dry, it too looks like a tsunami hit...hmmm... (Puget sound had a 6 inch tsunami, so WA is OK).

Now three strikes er kids down and we are out! Everyone (except DH who has been in Montana all week) have a fever. Poor middle child is working on day 4. However, when not napping, they behave like it is the weekend or they are on vacation and they really really need to go back to school. Darned you fever!

And yes, we've all got those rooms that have internal tornadoes, hurricanes, or tsunamis once in awhile.

LOL, Maria. My room is in that state constantly. Forget about, once in awhile.

Love, right back at you, Cristi! I'll be there in Round 4. No doubts.

So, I've worked on everything BUT my JYC/DD this weekend. I tried to stay up last night and just couldn't do it. Maybe it had something to do with the yummy broccoli & cheese soup I had for dinner...Yummy, comfort food. I played with some stamps, embossing powders, too, and made a nice card for my BFF, plus I made 4x6 'all about me' index cards for another nice group of ladies I met on the boards.

DS and I went to see "Gulliver's Travels" today. It was predictable, but funny. He liked it, and that's all that matters. Looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow morning...even if we have to 'spring forward' tonight.

Alrighty then...I'll see all of you in Week 28. G'night!
