I enjoyed Winterfest immensely. I loved seeing all the wonderful work in the gallery and all the chatting on the board. However, I only made four cards, and one of those was my sample card, and another was not for Winterfest. I had great plans and intentions, but the unvarnished truth is that I only made two Winterfest cards and entered three challenges.

Did you complete all of the challenges you had planned to? I noticed that some of us were just getting started when Winterfest 2011 was ending. Not to worry!

This new challenge will begin Monday, March 14, and end on Sunday, March 20. Here's the Challenge Blog Post so you can check out each other's work. All the information you need is repeated there and below.

Your task is to complete any WF11 challenge you have not already completed. It has to be something new, but it cannot be another Hangover Challenge.

If you completed every single WF11 challenge, then and only then can you repeat one. Don't forget the Drive-by Challenges!

You may combine regular WF11 challenges for this one, but you may not combine other Hangover Challenges with this one.

Any questions? Ask them right here on the Discussion Thread. Share your ideas here too.

When you post your project in the gallery, begin with WF11 Hangover and add the name of the original challenge, for example, WF11 Hangover-Make a Scene. Check the Challenge Box that says WF11 Second Chance Hangover Challenge.

When you have posted your project in the gallery, come back here to link your gallery post and tell us how it went--both the good and the bad.

Have fun and enjoy your Second Chance!

Daria

ETA: One more very important thing. Be sure to also go to the original challenge thread and post a link. Let our hosts and hostesses know their challenges continue to inspire us.

LOL, Daria! Usual suspects for me, far as getting challenges 'done'. Thanks for giving me a 'first chance' with your '2nd'!

I'm going to try to make one card each day. I was just so caught up in the gallery and the other posts during Winterfest that my mind couldn't grapple with all the ideas flitting in and out.

Daniel, I actually got up from the computer and went into the craft room to make a card for your time-themed Drive-by Challenge. I knew exactly which stamp I wanted to use. I went through every page of every binder--no stamp. I went through some loose stamps in a container on the table--not there either. Well, I never did find it and I have come to the conclusion that I must not have bought it after all, just longed for it. The good news is that I spent a couple of hours putting things away and making some working space for myself.

I wish us all luck!

I can just see you searching and searching for that stamp Daria, only to realise having the stamp was just wishful thinking! I think you really need to get that stamp now.

Thanks for this Hang-Over challenge, I am looking forward to being able to do more challenges, since I only got to play two days during Winterfest.

Thanks Daria for hosting this fun "Hangover Challenge" I had wanted to enter a card for the "KISS" challenge, but with having to work this weekend I missed out on the last two days of fun So now maybe I can get a second chance.

I'm glad I'm not the only one in need of a second chance.

I've already begun today's card. I walked away so I'll let the watercolors dry in peace. Then I'll add some glittery stuff and let that dry. I'm on my way . . .

There's another Hangover Challenge that's really cool. It's for jewelry, but I'm thinking embellishments. If you like that heart sample, check out the link in the gallery. Maggie has written a great tutorial for that one too.

Thank You, Daria, for hosting WF11 Hangover Challenge. Being away from home most of the week for WF11, it will be great to have a second chance to participate in some of the wonderful and fun challenges that were offered.

Yes, that's me. I did make an extra, not related to Winterfest Card a week ago Saturday before I even started on the Winterfest ones. I made two for Winterfest that qualify for I think four or five of the challenges. And I have a few more in the works that would qualify for additional challenges, so I'm glad you have this Hangover Week to allow participation like that.

Now let me see if I understand the other thread I saw on this right. Some, not all of the challenges can be completed this week? It's good because I saw some challenges that I wanted to get to and didn't quite get to on the list already, but I wasn't sure if all of them stay on.

Here is my card I made for the "KISS" challenge, I had started it last week, but did not have time to finish it up. So here it is. I love this stamp, and this is my favorite way to use it, because of all the detail of the stamp, I find clear embossing the image allows the beauty of all details really shine.

My KISS card

Thanks Daria & Deborah

Bon, I love your KISS card! You know I love that stamp!

Ellen, all of the WF11 Challenges are over, but you can still do any of them that you have not already done for this challenge. The original challenge check boxes will be gone so you can't check them off when you post in the gallery. Instead, check off the box for this challenge--WF11--Second Chance Hangover Challenge.

There is one more Hangover Challenge that I linked above, and that's Maggie's Faux Pendant Jewelry Challenge. I want to follow her tutorial to make a cool embellishment or focal piece for a card.

Have fun.
Daria

ETA: My first card is almost done. I messed up some Stickles I thought was dry. Now I'm waiting for the fix-up to dry. I'll post it tomorrow.

Marshia, I love it!!!

I'm at my sister's right now or else I'd be back in the craft room giving my unused frame stamps another look!

I tried to post yesterday's card this morning, but my computer kept freezing up, and I was late leaving for my sister's place. I actually thought I could post it from here, but when I went to do it, I realized I had scanned and saved it on my computer, not hers. OK. Stop laughing!

Hi, Bon. Twinkling H2O's are little jars of dried watercolor paints that have mica in them. You just spray a little water in them and let them sit a minute or two. Use a paint brush to mix it up and paint. Some people put enough water to liquify the entire jar, but I don't care for the thicker texture. You can vary the color of a single jar a lot by the amount of water you use. They are really pretty IRL with a lovely sheen. When I'm done, I leave the lids off until the paints have dried out and then put them away.

Here's my card for Prospurring's Praise & CASE Challenge.

Daniel and Anne, thank you for the tips/advice in your comments on my last card. They are very appreciated!

Daniel, I give up. What is &??? At first, I thought you were being cute with the word stamp, but that doesn't always fit. Tam's using it too now, and I can't figure it out. Help.

Daria

Daniel, I don't how I wrote &??? when I meant to write &amp. Does that help?

I started Card #3 last night, and I've been working on it today, but it's still not finished. It's a bit harder than I thought it was going to be. Hopefully, I can finish it and Card #4 tomorrow when I get back from work.

How are you guys doing?

Don't forget you need to post something new for this challenge, and it has to be for a challenge that you did not do for Winterfest unless you did absolutely all of them including the Drive-by Challenges. Then, and only then, can you repeat a challenge. Your work still needs to be new, not something you already made and posted.

I noticed a couple of card in the blog that that don't belong there. Nice try, ladies. LOL.

During Winterfest, I believe I saw every single card posted; I'll recognize them!

Wow Daria! So good of you to spend so much time in the gallery. I'm still finding projects I missed. I need to keep looking, there are lots of wonderful surprises.

I missed winterfest as far as creating. I did host, and leave some praise but I didn't produce anything

Thanks for hosting the hangover challenge.
I completed a card for your I Remember Mary Janes challenge. The patent leather technique worked like a charm. It was fun to watch the first round of embossing reappear like magic! Thanks for the tips on ink choices.

Here is my card. Seize the Daisies

Here's my card for Deborah's KISS challenge. I really wanted to play with the recipe of three squares and a rectangle (and I used up some more scraps - it is good not cleaning my desk, lots of little pieces to use everywhere):

Cindi, I needed this Hangover Challenge too, and I'm having fun!

Anna-Karin, you managed to do more challenges in the two days you were home than most of us did all week! I'm glad you have a chance to finish them.

Dar. I'm not finding my comment with "&???". Which card was it? However... When I use it, I'm (usually) saying things such as, "Different products/techniques would also work"--and leaving it up to the project's creator to think about them.

"&???" also means that the piece I'm viewing has gotten me 'thinking'--not always the same as 'inspired', but often am. HTH

My goal was to make a card a day this week. I should have said I'd work on my cards every day this week; then I could claim victory.

I started working on my third card Tuesday night. I finished it today. This one is for Suzanne's A Stitch in Time Challenge. Here's My Embroidered Card. The tree was embroidered with metallic threads, but you can't see the shimmer and shine.

We still have one more day to play. I don't think I'll have time to do another card tomorrow. I'm going shopping to replace my washing machine. I've had something to do every day this week!

Yesterday, Nora and I went to a Scrap Expo. I found a couple of stamps to add to the RAK pot. I'll choose the winner's name on Monday.

Thanks for linking my magnets Daria - I didn't check the Hangover challenge box since they were for a Hangover Week challenge, and not for a challenge I didn't have time to do last week.

I hope you find a great washing machine, but not such a fun thing to go shopping for.

I think the '&' thing might perhaps have been a character that the message board displayed wrongly. If I copy and paste from Word and forget to change some of the characters (like a quotation mark), such funny things appear.

Here's a Hangover card. I never had time to do Sherry's 'Sew cute' challenge and really wanted to, since I love stitching and since I often forget to use my cute stamps.

Anna-Karin, your cards are wonderful! I especially love those birch trees and the French Knot flowers!

I figured that was why you didn't link the magnets--because you'd be using one Hangover Challenge to enter another. A bit unusual, I admit; however, Maggie's challenge actually started during Winterfest so you get to squeak through. LOL.

How many challenges have you completed all together? I know you only had that one last weekend of Winterfest and Hangover Week, but it seems to me that you've been stamping up a storm! I'm so glad you got to play.

Thanks Daria! The resist technique I tried on the trees is a lot of fun.

I had a very productive 9 days. I made 10 Winterfest and Hangover projects, including my two sample cards (although they were made beforehand). I managed to do 11 of the challenges. I also did one layout (on which I used over 20 stamps) and four cards which were not for Winterfest.

Glad you got a washing machine!

Hi, Everybody. Thank you for participating in this challenge with me. I've doubled the number of cards made for Winterfest so now I feel better.

I put your name in the hat once for each new project you completed and posted on the challenge blog. That hat gets used for this purpose more than it ever gets worn as intended.

My daughter drew two names for me. Do you want to know who won?
