Hi...hope you are all doing well.
I am still in my funk..crud I am sooooo sick of feeling like this. I am going to a therapist..she is doing REM Therapy on me. I have only had 2 sessions and I thought it might be helping but I had a really bad day yesterday and now I am so discouraged...I really want this to help me so I can feel better and enjoy life.
We are going to Idaho tomorrow for our Grandson's baptism. It will be nice to have my whole family together for one day at least. The baptism is at 11, then we will have lunch at a restaurant called Melina's. It is soooo good, all handmade Mexican food. It should be an enjoyable day. We are leaving here at 7 a.m. and will probably get home around 7 p.m. I haven't been sleeping well lately so I hope I will be able to sleep in the car...I always fall asleep in the car and it's the best sleep I get......they should make a bed that mimics being in a car...I would sleep like a baby every night!
Hope you are well and enjoying your summer

Hello Ladies:

I hope everyone had a good week, and is off to an outstanding weekend.

Last Sunday, my sister and I went to a concert at Crew Stadium (it was part of the entertainment for the 2011 Ohio State Fair). We got to see Jerrod Niemann, Blake Shelton and Brad Paisley - it was such a good concert. We hit lots of rain on the ride up, but it stopped shortly after we got out of the car, so that was good!

Monday - Mark and I celebrated our 30th anniversary. Time is such a perplexing thing to me at times. Sometimes I can't believe we've been married for 30 YEARS, other times, I can't believe it's only been 30 years...He took the day off work so we could spend time together. However, he would take the day off work just to be off work if he could.

Tuesday - I took David to Columbus. I had a few errands to do up there anyway. So we had an early dinner at Dave & Buster's. He had such a good time playing the games.

And that's the extent of the happenings of my week...I know, I lead such an exciting life..

Tonight is Demolition Derby night at the local fair - so I've been getting more and more nervous as the minutes pass. I know Jason enjoys participating, but gosh does it shake me up. He went (as a spectator) to one last week - one of the participants was life-flighted. So I think that has me a bit more on edge than normal.

Waving Hi to you all.

Hugs,

*Pegsters*

Hi Sandy. Congratulations on your Anniversary. We celebrated #35 in July, and I'm like you, sometimes it's unbelievable to me that it's been that long, and other times it seems like it's been longer.
I have been feeling sick the last few days..haven't felt like doing much of anything. Jeff left last night for Southern Utah...he goes there to bow hunt (deer)...he won't be back until Tues. Lindsay's husband Matt is leaving in the morning, and taking 3 of the boys. They will be home on Sunday. So, it will just be Lindsay and I and baby Eli left at home. We are going to dinner and to go see "The Help" I read the book and liked it, but I didn't love it. I hope the movie is good. We will also probably do some shopping..I need to find a new purse. I used to love shopping but now I really don't. So I hope Lindsay won't drag me all over the place. We will probably make some kind of Halloween craft, we usually do that during the bow hunt. whoopee I sure lead an exciting life don't I?

hi
It is 5 am here - cannot sleep so decided to check in with you- just read o F/b that a earthquake happened o your Easy Coast=hope it didnt effect anyone-
Peggy- so sorry to hear about your funk- maybe the therapy will take a while- dont give up-
Sandy- 30 years- congratulations-
I have been clearing out a lot of stuff at home - havnt done any scrapping lately as my scrapping room is being used as the dropping off room! That is the job for when I am on leave- only 1 more week of work before my holidays- can you tell I cannot wait!
While I am on leave I want to go through all the wardrobes and be ruthless re clothes- you think some of the clothes are too good to through out but if you havnt worn them in years- bit of a waste! Laurie wont be needing all his work shirts now so why keep them all!

we have been looking at land and houses lately- having to decide whether to stay here and spend the money on the house or move- but the houses we have looked at have less room than we have now- land in the area we like is at least $250,000 plus! that is a lot of money!- we want to stay in Wollongong plus if you move you lose about $40,000 in moving and stamp duty costs- that can do a lot of work to the existing house!

Have been going to Sydney a bit to check on Dad-he says he is managing at home but every time we go up the place is a mess!-but cannot do anything- we just tidy up the yard and clear a few things in the house- just a bit worried as he is starting to give things away to the people who come to the house to clean etc-if it is little things that is Ok but Mum has some wonderful china and crystal- some of the china is worth a bit of money- so I dont want him giving it away to strangers! The lady from the chemist has even been given things!

anyway- better go back to bed for while at least
Take care everyone

Carolyn

Hi Carolyn! Gosh I am sorry about your Dad..maybe he will let you box the China and Crystal up and hold it for safekeeping.
The Help was sooooooo good! You all should go and see it..it was wonderful!
Hate to sound like a broken record, but I am still in my funk....I am so so so sick of it. Sandy, do you have any coping secrets?
I hope no one was affected by the earthquake. How strange is that? They are saying on the news that there haven't been any earthquakes in that area for over 80 years!

Hi All.....

Sorry I haven't been here in a while...I have not been able to shake this funk I'm in...

We did a little shake, rattle, and roll here...all
my hanging lamps were swaying...I was in my recliner...it felt there
was a vibrator attached...lol...we do get tremors here every
couple years...but this one was different...it had a shaking motion
instead of rolling motion...and there were two jolts instead of one continuous shock...it actually scared me a little...

I'm sure Flossie and Marianne felt it really good...they are also
right in the path of Hurricane Irene..

I am so glad that for the most part I only have to deal with
snowstorms.

I have not been doing to much....mostly staying home...I'm not even doing all the volunteer work I usually do...I just don't want
to be around people...I did just sign up for a two day crop, hoping
that will help me get out of my funk...

I am also going to try to start posting regularly, maybe that will
help some...

Flossie and Marianne...please get out of the path of Irene...
stay safe and dry...

Gotta go now...catch you later...

Hi Ladies
Hope you are feeling better ladies- Just take one step at a time- Cheryl- hope going to a crop helps you
Peggy-hang in there-hoping the counseeling helps- not an overnight success- takes time- I found getting outside a little bit helped Kathleen- her dr, recomended exercise- even maybe going for a 10 min walk may help- her dr also told Kathleen to make dates with her friends and keep up with her friends-Hope things get better for you
Read on facebook that Irene had hit where Flossie is- she was in the basement with a pump getting the water out- hope everyone is ok in the path of it-
Just worked my last sat morning for about 7 weeks- that is so good! I have 6 weeks off work- Don't know if i told you that we are going to Vietnam and Cambodia at the end of September- we are meeting up with a tour group -an Australian company that has been around for years- as part of the trip we are going on a weeks river cruise along the Mekong River- it is just Laurie and i going-so should be good- the company specialises in river cruises so should be good-

better get to bed- Sun pm now and I have work tomorrow-
take care everyone

I am back - found time - actually I decided to sit down and log back in and read the posts.

Peggy - the only thing I found that helps me to cope is using my sister as an example. Back in 1991 she had a traffic accident, her youngest daughter was killed, and her other daughter was critically injured and spent months in the hospital. My sister wasn't seriously physically injured - she was sore, bruised, etc...I'm sure she was physically beat up more than she let on with all that was happening around us. But I use her...I tell myself if she is able to get up every morning, put a smile on her face, go to work, have a family life, and be fit for human companionship (that is my feelings about my mood at times - not fit for human companionship) then I can do it too. It's hard, I was previously on anti-depressants etc...but I quite taking them years ago. There are days when I would like nothing more than to pull the quilt over my head and shut the world out-TOTALLY - and then there are days when I find myself sitting late into the evening thinking that even though I was up and about all day I had shut the world out. Days when I go through the motions without feelings, sharing any conversation with my family, even brushing my hair or teeth - that's when I kick myself...I don't know how it happens, I don't know why it happens. Then there are days when I am so down or whatever you want to call it that I buy things...not necessarily things I need or even want but I buy...then I feel worse because I've spent money that didn't need to be spent. I'm especially bad if I actually spend it on myself. I have gotten better about the buying though. I have added stuff to my online carts - to delete them later. If I pick up something at the store, I ask myself "is this something I need, or why do you think you should buy this?" I am trying to force myself to think instead of giving into impulses.
And I log onto here, to see if any of you all have posted. I read posts on the NSBR boards just to see if I can connect with the conversations, or whatever. I spend time on Facebook - I play mafia and farmtown so I have a few online friends and we chat when we are on at the same time.
Honestly, I don't think I have a handle on it, it has just been a part of me for so long I am use to it, maybe? Don't get me wrong - I still have days - like I typed about above...But the really bad ones are the days I can't stand to be around myself...That's bad...But it is in those days that I finally get so fed up with it I fight with all that is me to drag myself back to living life. Because in the bad days, it's not living life - it is letting life (mood, depression, etc) get over on you.

I am sorry that was so long - you are probably sorry you asked.

Hugs,

Peggy - I sure hope you find something that helps you soon.

I know any home/no matter how big really truly isn't big enough for 2 families. When our home burned down, we spent a month with my parents. We moved out into a pole barn to be closer to here when we were building this home. Well the closer part was part of the reason, the other part being no matter how much we love our family - it's hard to try to live under the same roof after living on your own. So we lived in a pole barn for 3 1/2 to 4 months...That was an experience...
And I don't think you should beat yourself up over your blowing up at finding the mess and no one watching the boys. My mom would have put me in my place even if I wasn't living with her. I know that you love your daughter and her family, and I know how it is to feel guilty for having problems with our kids. But you can't continue to beat yourself up over it, or feel so guilty about it. That isn't good for you.
You have been through alot of changes the last few years. And I'm sure selling the house was closely akin to losing part of your family - that's how I felt when ours burned down. So you are, in my opinion, justified in feeling down/blue/depressed...Maybe if you allow yourself to mourn the loss of "the good ole days" you'll be able to feel better.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Sending ya big hugs my friend. Ya know where I am if ya want to email/pmail me instead of putting it in public...lol

Hello to everyone else - sending ya all hugs too!

Hi All....

It's that time of year again....time for Christmas assistance at the
Salvation Army....in 2 days from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm we have already
taken 50 applications....that's only 6 hours we still have
five more days to go.....

I have not been doing much of anything other than that...I am
still having a problem getting out of my funk...

Good news...the idiot that lived upstairs moved out
he's been driving my crazy for 8 years...the apartment has
already been rented to a 60 yr. old women that I have known for
about 37 years...I hope this works out.

i had to put me heat on the other day...it just got so cold and
damp I couldn't stand it....this weekend it is supposed to get
into the upper 70's

I hope some of you come back...I know I have been really bad about
posting...I have to go for now...I'll try to get back
here tomorrow

Everyone here seems to be a source of strength for each other. I understand feeling in a funk. You don't want to anything. You force yourself out to work. You don't feel like your life is worth living. For me, it's because I have a medical illness. I am glad you are you've been going out.

Cheers from Southeast Sunny Florida!

Hi everyone
Just back from 3 weeks away-Laurie and I went to Vietnam and Cambodia which included a 8 day river cruise along the Mekong River- It was great but glad to be home to have a rest-LOL
Alot of the time we were with a tour group- you really need a guide or a tour group otherwise you miss out on a lot- on the ship our group joined up with an American co - both companies jointly the ship-met some lovely people- a Canadian couple I was talking to actually knew where I come from- the guy lived in our city for a while years ago-some travel agents from California were on there also-
The food on board was fantastic- so much to choose from- the hotels we stayed in were tops- in Vietnam because of the French- some hotels still have a lot of french influence- as well as the style of the buildings-we had to have some plans changed due to typhoon warnings and due to heavy monsoonal rain- river level highest in decades so that changed plans on the ship too- the ship couldnt get under a bridge when we were supposed to board so we had to go elsewhere to board- it was nice to get up in the morning- get ready for the day and then having to choose what you want for brekkie whilst your bed is being made and fresh towels laid out--
Then after a day out all you had to decide is what to have for dinner from the menu!

Hope all is well-
Hoping you are getting better- nothing worse than being in a funk-
Sandy- that is so sad about your sister and her family-what an aweful thing to have happen to anyone-

Cheryl- hope your new neighbour is better than your last one-

better get to bed- 1 am here- in the last 3 days I have had about 8 hours sleep so hope to have a better night tonight!
take care

chat soon

Hello Ladies:

I hope everyone is doing well! I am hating the colder weather, of course you all knew that. But temps in the low 40s upper 30s at night all ready make me cringe.

This thread was started over 4 months ago and we are only on 2 pages. We all so need to post more often.

Kathy asked me to say hi to everyone and let everyone know they are doing well. She sent me an email. She is doing some family research and found that her great-grandfather’s brother was married in Chillicothe, Ohio. So that made her think of me so she sent me an email to tell me that she had found that bit of information.

Not much going on here, school all week, and the weekends aren't long enough. But I am sure you all know that.

Peggy - How are you doing? I hope the funk is getting to be more manageable. Scream at it...Journal your feelings...whatever it takes! Sending you big hugs my friend.

Cheryl - How about you? Are you doing better? I hope so. So you lost your neighbor huh? I hope you get a GREAT one this time to make up for the yucky one...How's Ryan doing? Jess was talking about skiing in New York earlier and I thought of you. Hope you're not buried under help requests for the Salvation Army. I'm guessing it will be a busy year. Far too many out of work these days.

Carolyn - your trip sounds amazing. Did you take lots of pictures to scrapbook? I so need to clean out my space again and get busy. I think that I NEED the therapy of it all.

Carole - I see you on facebook, thanks for the farming gifts. The birthday cake looked fantastic.

Laurie - I think of you often, hope all is well with you and Tim.

Flossie - girl you so need to stop in here and post. I miss the good ole days of reading the happenings with those grand babies of yours.

Waving hi to everyone.

Hugs,

Hello Ladies:

I hope everyone is okay...

Peggy - how are you doing? I think of you often...Hope the funk is slipping away, and you can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Cheryl - how about you? Did you fight your way out of the funk yet? I think of you several times a day. Hope you are finding some sunshine in each of your days.

Well I stepped out of my comfort zone. I signed up to be a Scentsy Independent Consultant. Got my starter kit, have a basket party going on right now, another one to follow this one, a couple friends supposed to sign up under me one in December, the other to follow in January. I'm putting together some fund raising packets to take to schools, clubs, etc. So hopefully I'll stay pumped up about it and it will be the something for me that I needed.

You all can check out my website if you'd like.
Sandy's homepage.

I hope everyone stops by soon. Missing the chatter of the best bunch of ladies...

Hugs,
Sandy

I started posting at the beginning of this year....(maybe longer).

Since then, I had my 45th birthday.

I'd love to continue posting with this lovely group of women.

Cheers from Southeast Sunny Florida!

hi everyone
been busy with work- cleaning house trying to get rid of stuff and coping with Dad- he is back in hospital- had 2 toes cut off yesterday - ring him everyday- very hard to see him as the hospital he is in is terrible for parking- eg no car parks- near inner Sydney so street parking is at a premium!-so ring him instead- his speech is slurred - not good-
Sandy - took lots of pics- some are on my FB page- see some of the other ladies on FB- but still miss 'chatting'- FB is so very different- Cheryl and Peggy- hope you are both doing OK-

I may order some Martha Stewart tonight- all her craft is 30% off so i may buy a couple of punches- the saving pays for postage plus her prices are still cheaper than here anyway- I love her punches- I have been making decorations at work for the window of the building- turned our OK- will take a pic and post later-
Just a quick chat today- have to go to work soon- a misty , cool, rainy day- not really spring weather! Had to get out the winter quilt again- so cold at night after the hot weather we have had-

will be in touch soon- will try not to leave it for so long- hope everyone is keeping well!

Hello Ladies:

I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving. I was going to post wishes for Happy Thanksgiving to you all earlier in the week, thought maybe that was too early and then didn't make it back...

Mark and Jessica kept asking me what time I was planning Thanksgiving dinner, finally I answered them...Then a few days passed and it dawned on me, I haven't cooked a Thanksgiving meal for the last few years because we went to my sisters...

My dad was ill, we had him at the emergency room a week ago tonight, he is feeling better, but the doctors out there are just not quite up to par in my opinion. They said they wanted to do a urine sample, so he provided one - it was still sitting in the exam room when we left...didn't really give us a diagnosis, medicine, anything...Just go home drink plenty of liquids and follow up with your family doctor. If only they knew my dad doesn't go to the emergency room unless he feels like he is dying.

Carolyn - good to see you post. I'll have to check your pictures on fb...

Waving Hi to everyone and sending hugs!

I'm back! I was just popping in here to see some cards in the gallery and thought I'd check and see if our stuff was still up and running. I saw some posts from November and so I figured I better jump in and say hi! I miss our little group and the wonderful camaraderie we all shared. Don't know what happened; Joanne's death or Facebook, or maybe a combination of the two. But I just imagine our Joanne is watching us even today and wondering why we gave up on our little group. She was the glue that bound us together, I think. I still miss her.

Carolyn and Sandy, I hope your dads are both doing better. It must be hard when an elderly parent begins to take ill. As an orphan, I can only imagine how you must feel. I will say a prayer for the both of them.

Cheryl, how are you? I think you must be the only one of us who never got on Facebook! Join us!!!! I see you are doing the Salvation Army again this Christmas. You'll be busy with that, I am sure. So many in this country going through hard times--such a shame.

I've been busy the last couple weeks making my Christmas cards. I still have more to make! Then I must hurry up and start the decorating. Last year I had Vanessa to help, and Gabe too. PWee has to help this year! He's such a Grinch sometimes. Taneka and her four will be here for Christmas this year. Her hubby will be going to Hawaii with his boss We all know who that is! Vanessa has moved to NC as her hubby is now in the 82nd Airborne. They are expecting in May and we are all hoping for a girl. Gabe will be 6 in January, can you believe it!!! Jayson and his lady are expecting a girl in March. Logan is 4 and is very excited at the idea of being a big brother. Brianna is in 7th grade and just the sweetest thing. Jordyne is turning 10 this month. The girls and I love to get together to scrapbook and make cards. They are a joy to be with! The rest of the grands are well and they all are growing like wildflowers. I so enjoy being "Momma, Grandma, or Grandmother" to them all.

Well these Christmas cards won't make themselves so I better get to them. I'll sincerely try to come on and post more often. Take care my "Pea Sisters". Love and Hugs...

Hello Ladies:

Flossie - so good to see you post! I too miss Joanne. I think of her so very often. I loved her writings about food and travels. What a special person she was. Good to hear news about all the children/grands...I don't have any grands yet. Jessica was expecting, but miscarried, and Jason's girlfriend also miscarried. I do have some step grand children, but we do not see them. They live in northern Ohio, and since Lois moved down here we do not get up there anymore.

Cheryl - What's up with you? I hope all is well.

Peggy - how about you girlfriend? Are you feeling better? I surely do hope so.

Carolyn - so sorry to read of your dad. I sure hope he is feeling better.

Hugs,
