as far as the question of the week - this time through, i'm really not doing much of anything... well, other than posting the threads every week.

let's see,

1. i've made a point of cleaning up after each project and dusting/vacuuming once a week.

2. i still have photos to organize on the new laptop and still haven't installed pse.

3. i've been keeping all my kits together and stacking them as i receive them. studio calico started shipping in these cute little pizza boxes and little black dress uses clear bags, so...

4. i officially have all my color bins done - white, pink, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, brown, black, gray - love this!

5. i've been putting my ribbon into my color bins as i've been taking it off the spools, so right now, i have a basket that has all the ribbon (that's still on spools) in it.

that's about it!

have a great day, everyone...

How am I doing so far? I am doing ok. I am making a little progress...Slow and steady wins the race, right? I haven't had the chance to finish organizing my scraps yet, but I will try to get to that this week. Most of my supplies are fairly organized, I just need a little help with fresh, new ideas, and a shove in the right direction.

As for organizing my ideas, I have two binders and one spiral notebook. In one binder I have ideas for cards organized by theme--birthday, new baby, wedding, etc. In the other binder I have diffrent techniques I would like try, such as using liquid epoxy. It also has ideas for mini albums. In my spiral notebook, I have three sections. One section is for single photo layouts, the second section is for multi-photo layouts and the last section is for layouts with journaling as the main focus.

Well, I'm off to continue orgaizing my ideas (I started this morning). Hope y'all have a good week, and a Happy Mother's Day!!

------------------------------------------------------------------------

So far, I've worked on reorganizing my paper, and I already had my scraps organized from last round so that was a free week.

I didn't have time last week to work on photos, so I'm going to come back to that another week.

As far as ideas, I recycled a ton of idea books and magazines at the start of the challenge but I still need to get some of the tear sheets into my binders. That shouldn't take too long.

This is my last week of class and I have to give finals next week. After I get them graded and posted I will have a lot more time for scrapping, organizing, decorating.

Progress report huh?
Hmmmm....not much to report. I've been tweaking a little since last round and playing catchup in areas I'd let slide. I spent my Friday night updating my stamp index binder (because that is the kind of exciting life I lead, LOL).

I am a couple of months behind on printing off my photos which I will hopefully fix this week.
My ideas are the same as last round. Maybe I should go thru them and update them since the only idea books I've used are the Page Maps ones. I have a couple of the Allison Davis books coming too. I've realized I use sketches most and hardly ever flip thru a magazine or dig around online for inspiration.

I'll be back during the week. Hope everyone has a great one!!!

Let see--finally finish sorting my papers. just need to purchase more holders, scrap--done sorting and cutting down to size,
Photos-holding off in couple weeks as this will be time consuming for to sort, label, and file in order.

ideas--I have a binder for page map that i print off, binder for Allison Davis, i have binder for any inspirations that print off but that will be trash as I haven't touch it in a year. going to use pintrest for storing those inspirations I see online. so they won't take me long to work on this week.

looking forward to everyone's progress will update with picture tomorrow on my blog.

QOTW - Just tweaking areas from last round. And staying on top of maintaining the organization - like filing scraps after each project, backing up photos on regular basis, etc.

For Ideas - I have a binder with pages torn out from magazines. I have it divided in sections - layout ideas, stamping, journaling, photos, organization, etc. I should probably go through and clean it out though.

Have a good week everyone.

QOTW: I feel like I'm making some very good progress, EXCEPT for last week...UGH...photos. I had way too much going on with DS coming home from college (had to go up and move him out...NOT fun!) and Mother's Day and work stuff to work on the photos. So I will be doing those later in the challenge when there are weeks I don't have anything to do. I have GOT to scrap like a maniac for the next few weeks so I get DD's scrapbooks done for graduation!

My ideas are actually pretty well organized. I purged a bunch of old magazines and tear sheets at the beginning of the challenge, since I only REALLY use my sketch collection for inspiration. I have PageMaps and other sketches in page protectors in two binders, one for LOs and one for cards. I want the binders to match, though, so my only project for this week is going down to the basement to grab some extra matching binders and stick my pages in them. The few idea books I kept are already neatly organized on my shelf!

So far I've only been tinkering, ideas is the first week I really need to think about. BUT I have been weeding through magazines (a couple a week) and amd s-l-o-w-l-y consolidating my piles of ideas. It's just very SLOW!!

I was making great progress until photo week. So I guess this area will be ongoing. When school gets out I will paint and cover floor in my Scrap Area.

Crisann, any chance you can post or send a link to pics of your color bins? I'd like to see them...

QOTW: I'm fairly well organized so I tweak the area that you post about each week, and have been donating things I no longer use to the local nursing home.

I keep ideas of things I like either on the bulletin board right in front of my desk or on a clipboard here on my desk.

Question of the Week:

I'm doing pretty good so far. Paper and Scraps are done. I decided to skip Photo Week as I'm really thinking about taking BPS Finding Photo Freedom, but just haven't made the decision yet.

Ideas:

I have a few binders that I would like to put together, one for layouts, one for cards, and one for Allison Davis sketches. Inside the sketch/layout binders I will sort them by number of photos and a few themes. Card ideas will be sorted by themes. I'm not sure I will actually be able to finish the challenge for this week as May has been an extremely busy month.

Ugh! The only scrappy thing I got done yesterday was taking the empty binders for my sketch collection from the basement to my scrap space! DH decided to tell me at EIGHT O'CLOCK LAST NIGHT that the guy who did our security system was coming to take pictures of the house TODAY!! These pictures are for his new WEBSITE, for ADVERTISEMENT!! Now keep in mind that we just moved DS back from college, and the laundry room and his room look...well...there are no words to describe them. So I spent the rest of the evening madly cleaning and hoping that the random dust bunnies won't show in the pictures. And praying that the photographer won't go in rooms with closed doors! I am petrified that my house will be immortalized as it truly is...a little messy all the time! Can I cry now?!

Sorry for the rant...back to your regularly scheduled program...

(And hoping for some scrapping time tonight...)

My progress report is this: I pretty much stalled on this project, especially since my NSD shopping spree. So I have decided to go back to week three, pull everything out of the room, and start over. Starting with repainting.

I've found a bookcase/cubby thing at IKEA that will help with organization, but first I'll empty and paint the room. I just bought 20 boxes (I always underestimate, but I'm hoping this will be close) and picked up a bunch of paint swatches. So I'm a bit behind now, but I'm hoping to catch up eventually.

Just bought a 100-count pack of sheet protectors for the Scrapbook Generation sketches I've been printing. My DH thinks I'm nuts getting so excited over putting papers in protectors to then organize in a binder. They just don't get it, do they?

Here's my blog post from Round 1 of the challenge --> Ideas

Ideas have changed for this Round. I've discovered the Sketch Support website and joined my 1st monthly kit - Scrapbook Generation's Super Sketch Club. I purchased a 100-count box of sheet protectors and created a binder for all the printed sketches. A ton of those protectors later and I have a sketch binder organized by 1 or 2 page layout design, # of photos per layout and a section waiting for card sketches. Individual project ideas will have a section in this binder too. And there's plenty of room to grow in the binder once I start receiving the monthly kit sketches. All the enabling Peas have brought me over to the dark side of monthly kit clubs!

Have yet to find the perfect solution for the ackward-sized CTMH publications, so they are still stored in a magazine holder. I now have all 6 of the CTMH design books, 3 of which are displayed throughout my space. The other 3 books, along with some other publications, are stored in a cubbie in my Expedit.

Progress report - All the weeks so far have been completed ... except for photos. Photos are a major stumbling block for me and I keep putting them off. I'm signing-up for Staci Julian's FPF class and will wait to tackle photos until I learn more about her process. Total avoidance for now

I think that covers everything for this week. Weather is gorgeous here in PA today and I'm hoping to get outside and take some pictures. Have a great day everyone!

boy, time flies. lol Let see--I'm working on the ideas this week. I have a binder for Pagemap but have to admit I haven't touch it since the discovery of Support Sketch. I didn't sign up for her monthly kits as I'm on a tight budget for now. I'm hoping in fall I can. I printed out her sketches and have a binder for Scrapbook Generations. I have a third binders which include other inspirations i have on Two peas gallery but I'm planning to purge it as I don't often look at it. Since the Pinerest, this will help reduce the paper usage waste. lol I'm goign to stick to three binders. any more than that might overwhelm me with too many choice plus times change as trend changes.

I will post pictures tomorrow as I'm planning to finish this up tonite.

Lisa while I don't store ideas anymore I totally know what you mean by dh not getting it.. I take my container of scraps down to our TV periodically and "clean it up" and my dh always asks "why I don't just throw that mess away..not like you don't have a ton more paper upstairs"
ahhh my scraps are gold to me... he just doesn't get it!! lol

Stopping in to wave hello to everyone!

We have a kitchen reno starting on Monday, so I've been reorganizing my basement storage to make room for all the kitchen stuff I have to move down this weekend. Haven't thought much about organizing my scrap stuff at all the last couple of weeks, but I have unearthed an old glass cake stand that's been sitting in a box for nine years. It has a new home on my scrap table holding jars of twine and little things. Very nice to have something pretty on my table.

The rest of the room has been a dumping zone, unfortunately. I have managed to weed out a lot of the pages I've torn out of magazines over the years. Still lots to do there. I'd like to cover a couple of cork boards that I have with fabric and put them up to hold current inspiration stuff. I never seem to think to look in a binder when I want ideas. But that'll have to wait until next week sometime.

"are you making progress?"

Well, the room is a whole lot messier than it was a few weeks ago, so that's progress, right? lol

I have been working slowly on the photos. That will definitely be an ongoing project. The paper and scraps is all organized and I skipped ahead and hung some pegboard to help organize some embellishments/alphas, etc. Just need to find some time to clean up the clutter.

I have a couple of idea/technique binders. I need to organize my scrap magazines and print out some more pagemaps and make a folder for them. I did make an "idea book" with my BIA that I keep photos for immediate scrapping. So, yeah, I think I'm making progress. Except I need to blog about the progress!

I'm doing pretty well so far. This week though I think I'm going to have to put on the back burner. It's been a tough week here-depression wise and migraines. Good news is the depression is lifting and migraines are getting better.

My plan for ideas is hmmm, there's a lot to do in this area.
1. Label my Club Scrap binders so I can see which are which in the bookcases. Each holds a sketch page, an overview of each kit, a font for each kit, and other items.

2. I do NOT want to take apart my magazines. I started scrapping in 1998 and have lots of magazines through the years-Memory Makers, Simple Scrapbooking, CK, Rubber Stamper and more. Since a lot of these mags are no longer printed they've become even more precious to me. I will scan the pages I'm interested in once we get a scanner. I do love reading them again and again.

3. I have a binder that I've filled with empty page protectors and when I find a piece of memorabilia or a photo I'll slip that in for future page ideas.

4. I also have a binder of Club Scrap sketches, but I need to print more out and update it.

That's all I can think of so far. See ya next week!

Let me start by saying that I'm not a regular participant of this challenge. I've posted a handful of times during rounds 2 and 3. I have checked out many of wookiemouse's blog posts and have lurked on the challenge threads here and there. I love reading everyone's ideas, progress, and hang-ups as far as organizing. I'll even go so far as to say that I am, and always have been, somewhat of an organizing junkie. Places like The Container Store and IKEA excite me.

Over the last two years I have worked on organizing my space at my own pace and not really at times that correspond to the challenge, but I'm really happy with some of the biggest improvements that I've made and sustained, thanks to the information from you all!

1.) My digital photos are in windows live gallery and are tagged so it's much easier to find what I'm looking for. I print in batches or as I go and keep them in CM divided photo storage.

2.) My paper pads are split up and my kits are split up, all of my paper is sorted either by color or theme into cropper hopper vertical folders. Everything is labeled. I can always find exactly the right papers now.

3.) My scraps are in a 12x12 sterilite drawer unit, also by color. I use scraps all the time now.

4.) My embellishments are also sorted by color into sterilite drawer units. WAY easier for me.

5.) My stickers are sorted by type: words/labels/theme into a sterilite drawer unit also.

6.) EVERYTHING IS LABELED, even the sections in my spinning tool caddy!!!!!!

7.) I put new purchases away immediately.

8.) I dust my shelves, sweep the floor, and vacuum the cat hair off of my chair and small sofa weekly, to keep my room clean and inviting.

9.) The kids' craft supplies are organized into drawers and containers by type of item in the corner of my room so they too can find exactly what they want.

10.) My cricut booklets are separated from their boxes into a small container on my desk so I can easily flip through them. I also tore out all the foreign language pages.

11.) I've kept a graph paper notebook of sketches for 3 years now. I draw sketches into it, cut them from magazines, and print them off the web, then glue it all into the pages of the notebook. If I'm ever stuck, all I do is flip through for inspiration. I repeat favorite designs, and I'm totally OK with that!

12.) I've purged, donated, RAK'ed, and eBay'ed stuff I no longer love or use. I actually go through about every 6 months to see if there is anything to get rid of. The end result is I love what I have!

And lastly, I've finally got an album system that I'm happy with it, mostly based on Stacy Julian's big picture concept. I got an IKEA Expedit for my albums last year, and this year I finally figured out how to label the spines of them (AC D-rings), so I'm really happy with that. I have a 12x12 box that I place finished layouts in and when it starts to get a little full I go file them into the albums. So far this has been working for me!
