good afternoon, ladies!
how is everyone? this thread's been kind of quiet this round...
this week, we're organizing projects, unfinished pages, and kits. this is one of my weaknesses, especially since i discovered bpc (big picture classes) - it's entirely too easy for me to sign up for a class that i have forever-access to, thinking that, someday, i'll get around to actually doing the work - yea right! i'm getting better - i've been staying as far away from that site as possible. lol...
kit clubs are another weakness of mine - the last 4 studio calico kits and the last 3 little black dress kits are sitting on my shelves.
add to that, project 365 and project life - are you noticing a trend here? lol...
question of the week: i thought an incredibly "fitting" question for this week would be - do you have a touch of scrapbooking add? how many projects, unfinished pages, and kits do you have lying around, waiting for you?
here's the link for wookiemouse's blog.
by the way, anyone order the ck special issue creative spaces? i did, ofcourse.
oh, and speaking of organizing, i made s/o buy a rack for all the vinyl and i gave him one of my metal shelves for the supplies - i was getting so tired of looking at the mess in his office. oh, and if you check out my blog, i finally got around to posting the vinyl on my walls...
happy organizing!

Definitely more quiet this round Cristi
I really don't want to count my kits. I went more then a little crazy in 2006 & 2007 with kits ... and some of THOSE I still haven't gotten to!! I've also been pretty consistent with The ScrapRoom since then and have quite a few of those untouched as well.
But for projects, it's not *as* bad!! I have P365 (last year and this year's), an album for a trip to Seattle eons ago, two Florida trips, DS's baby album (have one more month before his first year is *done*), a school album (that I haven't started yet!!) and my LOM albums that are ongoing. Not to mention all the Big Picture Classes that I haven't finished either. There's definitely not a shortage of things to work out over here!!
One thing I do have is the "start here" jar. Started with Stacy Julian and Wookiemouse mentions it in her blog as well. The concept is GREAT!!! For awhile, my projects were all in one area as well so it was easy to find the projects if that was what I was going with.
We're having a rainy cold weekend here, which is perfect fo scrapping I'm going to get some done while I have the energy for it. | |

Hey Girls!
I actually don't have a LOT of UFO (UnFinished Objects, LOL) laying around. I did get this brilliant idea to years worth of "month in review" project. I have 3-6X6 albums that I'm using. Only I haven't gotten very far. I think I've printed out January's photos. Thats it.
I have a lot of kits but thats how I store my PP so they don't count...right? LOL! I also subscribe to The ScrapRoom and I have a few months worth of kit backup there. I just don't have the photos that "go" with some of them.
I'll try to be more chatty this week! The end of the school year is extremely busy for me this year since I'm flying solo! |

I really don't have alot of unfinished projects, just ongoing projects like my daughters school album, keeping up with our yearly album. And kit wise, I counted 12 that are sitting here untouched. Where I run in to unfinished projects is classes that I've signed up for on-line... free ones here on Two Peas or other blogs/listserves, classes I've paid for at Big Picture, My Creative Classroom, etc. I start out all gung-ho then run out of steam after a few lessons. |

QOTW: do you have a touch of scrapbooking add? how many projects, unfinished pages, and kits do you have lying around, waiting for you?
Oh good gracious, you actually want me to count? There are so many! I have my daughter's elemntary school album, my trip to Europe, a birthday album for my mom, my daughter's miscellaneous album, a mini album about my daughter, (do you sense a theme here?) and an album about me and my daughter. Oh, there is also an ongoing Disney album I am working on. I'm sure there are more, but I am so very tired and I just can't think of them right now.
I don't have any "kits" laying around. I don't subscribe to any monthly clubs. I just grab what I need, and I don't really put things together in "kits" to use.
Well, I guess that is all for now. Sorry this is such a short post, but my daughter and I spent all day (16 hours) at Disneyland yesterday, and now I need to go to sleep.
Ya'll have a great week! |

QOTW: Hmmm...I really don't have scrapping ADD...at least right now. Since I have one scrappy focus...getting the football album done by June 5th...I can't be ADD! LOL!
This week is actually a fairly easy one for me. I do not subscribe to ANY kit clubs, so I have no pre-made kits. Whew! And I always finish my pages once I start. Pages in progress are in horizontal files on my desk.
The one thing I HAVE started doing, though, is putting together my own kits, or at least putting pictures together that I want to scrap and sticking them in page protectors, sometimes with paper and embellies if I'm really inspired. I have already organized these and put them in my rolling Cropper Hopper file. Right now, everything in there is the kids' memorabilia and photos from HS, organized by year and/or activity (football, drama, honors). That has helped me a TON with getting stuff done for graduation. I'm gonna still be working on their school albums for years, but at least it's all organized for when I get to it!
Now if I can just resist subscribing to the Super Sketch Club...I REALLY want to... |

Hi, Sorry I have been MIA! Been sick, then my youngest DD came home from London -been busy since then, my DS graduated this weekend and now my mother is here visiting. DS just brought home ALL his stuff and a bunch of dirty laundry but it was good seeing them all this weekend!
QOTW: I plead the 5th As for the ADD I am almost finished with my sewing class but not done a thing with May's class. I have several unfinished layouts in a project box. I just started subbing with SC and have TWO unfinished kits plus a couple of add-ons. But knowing that I would start piling up the kits I bought IRIS cases on sale at Ms. So I have two with kits in them and two empty for June and July
Anyone taking Claudine Hellmuth's collage class next month? |

I am still working on getting my room cleared out after I decided to do that last week. Definitely a work in progress.
I belonged to Club Scrap for several years. I loved their products and still do, but I didn't renew once the monthly price went up. As much as I adore their stuff, I wasn't scrapping at the time, and I had piles of unopened boxes.
I'm scrapping a lot more now and know I would use the stuff I already have if it were better organized. I'm looking forward to seeing what others do with theirs. I have absorbed the stamps and accessories into my stash, but I've kept the cardstock in sets.
I have at least half a dozen pages in progress, waiting for me to add a title or another final touch. I'm hanging onto them now so I have something to work on once the room is cleared out. I will go insane with nothing scrappy to work on. |

Amanda, I am TERRIBLE with journaling! My problem is that I'm scrapping events that are years ago and can't come up with stuff to say. So sometimes I just don't journal! Plus, I hate my handwriting. But I just read part of the "Embrace Imperfection" class at BPC and that really inspired me to "just do it"! And asking the kids to come up with stuff has helped, too. |

I have GOT to stay OFF the YouTube. I started a couple of mini-albums. One is a paperbag one and one is an envelope one. I have no idea what I'm going to use them for. I just watch the video, get inspired and away I go.
And if we are counting un-journaled layouts as un-finished projects, I'm running away. I hardly ever journal right away. I save them all up and do them all at once. I hate to journal but I know the importance of the dates, etc. I just hate writing it all out!
Hope everyone is having a productive week! |

journal drop outs
Amanda too funny as always!
I actually do the journaling but sometimes forget to glue down the embellishments or even the photos
Guess you can call be embellie-drop out!
So considering that I have layouts way to numerous to count that having everything done but the embellies! I am now running away to the island! |

QOTW: Yes, I have a lot of unfinished projects... Most of them are LOs that I started at a class somewhere and didn't finish. I lurked on the last round of this challenge, and one of the things I did do, as I moved things into my new space, was to organize the unfinished projects using Wookiemouse's jar and popsicle sticks idea. I love that idea! So now I don't feel quite so overwhelmed. The element of this week's challenge that I have to tackle are page kits. I always wrestle with this, and it makes me a little crazy, I have to admit. If I buy a line of paper and embellies together, because I love the line, I don't want to separate them by filing paper with paper, rub-ons with rub-ons, etc... So I have a few of these taking up space that I need to organize, probably with popsicle sticks again, so that I have an easy way of remembering what's what.
Most of my albums are "in progress" albums, but I don't really count those as UFOs. Leisa, I can't believe how organized you are, to know how many LOs are left in each one! I usually scrap by photo inspiration, and then the finished LOs go into the album that's appropriate. I don't really have a plan for any album I start, unless it's a gift album or something for a specific purpose.

Week 8 - DONE
Does anyone else get the urge to "work ahead"? I have to admit, I've read all of Wookiemouse's blogs already. And there are some things that I want to get started on. But I've been holding myself back, which is actually a good thing since I've got so much actual scrapping to do! But that organizing bug has really bitten me!
Hope everyone has an awesome weekend! |

wow have I fallen behind, my whole room is suddenly filled with started projects and I'm a bit overwhelmed by it. Tuesday we have the final papers to sign before we will be the proud owners of our home. This is the first home we have ever purchased and we've been married for 19 years so its a little scary for us but I will be excited for it to be ours.
Anyways I made a box to hold kit that I am currently working on. you can see it on my blog, I thought it would be nice to have something pretty to put my projects in. I just need to finish what I start already.
I'm not sure how soon I'm going to do this but once the house is ours I'm planning to empty my room and give it the paint job and trim that I've always wanted and then when I put my room back together it will be completely finished. |

okay, I'm finally going to jump in and try this whole "organizing" project... wish me luck! <---this is what I look like when I try to find anything in my room, lol!!
and this: is how I feel when I think about trying to organize it! But, I need to do something, otherwise I'll quit scrapping again... (I hadn't scrapped in over a year till a couple weeks ago .) I get overwhelmed by the chaos in my craft room, so I get to the point where I just "toss stuff into the room and shut the door," which just makes it worse. Also, we have two cats and two dogs, so if things are laying around the cats will steal them, then the dogs will destroy them-- so I need lots of help! I will start reading, and see how far I get!! |

Ok I had to jump in here and make everyone feel better about their project/kit chaos...When I did the first Organize your stuff challenge (hello 2009!) I set up the popcycle stick thing.. I sorted through all the kits/projects..even took apart some of the page kits that I knew just were never gonna happen (some of them were 8 years old lol)I pulled a stick every few days and went to town... I totally thought I had it all under control.. and ORGANIZED...
Fast forward to today and those sticks probably should be dusted off because I don't think I have used them in over a year! hehehe and my projects/kits are still sooo organized because I never touch them--oh my!
Sooo for those of you who are crossing things off your list! Wahoo!! seems I need to revisit this week-- because while they are organized they are not moving forward... I guess I need to add this to the to-do list. |

I don't think I have scrapping ADD, okay maybe a tiny bit
Kits- I was a member of Club Scrap (the first kit club, still going strong) for years and years. I usually organize and store kits as they come in the mail (2 per month). I put all of the paper (unique designs on cardstock) in my 12x12 stacking plastic paper trays. I put all of my flat items in a CM file folder. Sure wish they still sold these things-they are great! So...Scrap Rap, embellishments that were on paper, photo mats and other things. The stamp would go in with my stamp collection, fibers in the fiber collection, and non paper embellishments in my embellishment collection. When I started this challenge I had 6 months worth of kits opened but simple stacked and not put away. When we did the paper challenge I stored all of those last kits.
Unfinished Pages-I don't really have any because it bugs the c*rap to have an unfinished page. It's on my desk until I finish it-usually in the same session.
Projects-I only scrapbook nowadays but if we are counting unfinished albums I do have quite a few:
1. My Japan album from my trip in 2008-half finished
2 My England album that I am doing for him from his trip to England a few years ago.
3. My St. John album from our 2nd trip there-half finished.
4. My son's baby album (he's 22, but who's counting?
And let's not even mention journaling okay??? I am blessed with beautiful handwriting, but tend to hesitate on journaling because I want each page to be PERFECT. I did recently look through the first album I made back in 1998 and I noticed how much journaling added to the album. It was fun to read it! I journal in cursive handwriting, but am recently starting to reconsider this-if they are stopping the teaching of cursive handwriting in the schools-will my future relatives be able to even read my journaling? My printing is atrocious, so the only option is computer journaling. Maybe I will do a mixture of both from now on.
BTW, journaling's importance was really brought home to me when last year due to medical treatments I lost quite a bit of my memory. Now I truly realize how important journaling is. This is a hard lesson to me to forget about perfection (hard for me as I am such a perfectionist) and just get on and do it.
