I have a wonderful scrapping room that I adore. And I am always reorganizing and changing things around. So when I saw this magazine I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. I bought it Monday and have looked at it on 3 different days and I am so disappointed. I am not really inspired by it at all. I want to be ispired but it just isn't doing anything for me.

I haven't read my copy yet, but I know it's a bummer when you're looking forward to something being good and it disappoints. Do you have a friend you could give it to? Or you could try selling it on the For sale or trade board here.

I bought it without really looking at it first (my bad), and have been disappointed with how many of the rooms I've already seen in other CK magazines or elsewhere. For some reason I assumed it would be all new stuff. Still lots to drool over and it's nice to have all that info in one magazine, but I do feel like $14.95 was way more than I should have spent on it.

What is with $14.95 (or even more) for a scrappy magazine? I am really interested in this one but I have been disappointed by how high prices are for some of these "special edition" magazines that really aren't a whole lot different in content or size than a regular monthly magazine. I sort of have the same problem with the "Trends" magazines with the pricing. Zoinks!

Totally agree! Huge disappointment! It's mostly recycled pics from past CK feature articles!
Lesson learned for me! | |

I agree with the OP. I got much more info/inspiration/help from The Organized and Inspired Scrapbooker and the scraproom threads here.

I had it in my hand, flipped through it and put it back. I think there are better ideas found on the internet.

I'm a scrapper on a budget, and a lot of time these storage ideas are way out of my price range. Some of them have custom built shelving, special lighting, and one even re-did the floor to match the cabinets. I'd like a book with some practicle, inexpensive ideas.

I agree, I was not impressed. Most I have seen before and nothing really different. Glad mags at J's are 10% off, I might have bought it site unseen with a coupon and then been disappointed.

I picked up the magazine as well. I didn't flip through it at the store and when I got it home I was disappointed as well. I would have like to see more scrapbook rooms from ordinary scrappers, not designers. There were a few ideas in there I liked but generally speaking nothing earth shattering.
My "Scrapping Shed" was featured in the Creating Keepsakes magazine last year and they wanted a lot of originality.

The prices for magazines is nuts! And JoAnn's is in a constant state of 10% off sale for theirs so you can't even use a coupon and Michaels won't let you anymore. I won't pay those prices for a magazine.
I like to see things that the average person does with their space. Not what the ones that someone dumped a lot of money into. Also, the spaces that are not a room of one's own. There are many of us that have to use shared space whether it be a dining room, living room, or your own bedroom (like mine!)
Here's some pics from my scrap are if you want to check it out. It's changed slighty since the last pics, too. http://kaleidoscopecreations.blogspot.com/search/label/storage

I bought a copy of it and was very, very disappointed in it. The cost for this magazine was over the top for what was in it. Yes there are some really nice rooms however, I too wish they would have done more in the project ideas in the back of the magazine. Next time I will look at the magazine before I buy it!

I looked at this magazine at Barnes and Nobles. They had nice comfy chairs there so you can read, so I got and looked through it in the store. I was finished in about 5 min. So glad I didn't buy it. I'm always looking for new ways to organize, but I just didn't see anything new in there, and I won't spend $14.95 for a magazine. If I really liked it, I would have tried to get it at Hobby Lobby with a coupon, but I don't even need to do that.
