I've got a bunch of carts that I want to sell to save up enough for a small laptop to use with Make the Cut. I'm just curious what a good price would be?

Not too long ago someone on the FSOT board was selling linked full carts for $15. I would not pay more than that. HTH

$15 is what I'm selling mine for and that includes priority shipping and paypal fees. I also lower the price if they are buying more than one. I'm not really trying to make a lot of money, just cleaning out some "no longer needed stuff" so I can turn around and buy some new goodies. Someone's got to do something to keep this economy going.

yeah I agree $15 is the most I will pay for a cartridge that is "less than whole" (ie missing book, overlay etc)

I think you are probably better off (IMO anyway) to hold onto them and sell with the gypsy. unless the new Cricut Craft Room will accept carts already linked to a Gypsy when it officially released this fall. too many unknowns right now though. the price could be more if someone doesn't own a gypsy and is able to link it to the online CCR (and that could include massive amounts of people soon).

Thank you! I was thinking about 12-14 selling locally. I'm just not sure I could sell them all. I really appreciate your input. I am still considering selling them with my G. I'm just afraid I'm going to miss my carts if I sell them.

I think $15.00 is is a good price for a linked cart. I don't mind buying linked ones. I do have a gypsy and have ALL my carts linked to it. I do use Design Studio, so I don't mind having linked carts. I would consider getting rid of any of my linked carts that I was no longer crazy about. If my gypsy breaks, well that's the chance I take.

Just as an FYI, I'm copying/pasting this from cricut.com:

If you sell your carts, your g goes with the carts. When you accepted the EULA, you agreed not to sell any carts linked to the g so your g goes with any carts that you sell. For further review of the EULA, click the wrench on the welcome screen and then click EULA. Pay special attention to 2.3 (e & f).

Some of us know that and some of us don't. And for what it is worth, I feel once I spend my money on a product it is mine to do with what I wish. The EULA is just one more way of PC trying to keep us all in PC Nirvana. I do have a G, CE, C, and abt 20 carts. But I would sell the carts and the baby bug to someone if I knew a buyer. I am not THAT loyal to PC. If the G breaks, oh well, time for me to move on to other things. coughsilhouettecough

Oh after proofreading this I found it sounded snarky. It is not meant to be that way. Just stating the way I feel.

I'd say $15.00. Unlinked can go for more-depending on the cart.
I have a few Imagine Carts and an Imagine I want to sell. I'll also sell linked and unlinked carts. I wouldn't go much lower than $12.00 each when selling in multiples.

I am considering a silhouette cameo but I bought MTC and I'm not crazy about having software that I've paid for and can't use. If I've learned anything from PC is that I don't like a company telling me how I can use their products kwim? I have a few cricut carts that I ADORE like create a critter and simply charmed. I don't think I can really sell my E for much so I'm thinking I will just keep it with MTC for a while at least until my E dies.

Personally, I wouldn't spend $15 on a linked and used cart. Guess that's just me.

Whether or not that is just 'one more way' is irrelevant. By linking your cartrridges to the gypsy you made a digital copy. If you were to sell a gypsy with linked cartridges and not the cartridges with it - that is considered piracy. It's no different than selling copies of a cd or dvd that you burned from an original.

Personally, I don't agree with the inability to unlink cartridges. I haven't linked any of mine. So far, I just use it for the 2 gypsy carts and 5 free downloads.

If you're not aware - I've heard the cameo will not be allowed to use 3rd party software. You may want to check into that before buying.

That's kind of what I was trying to say about the cameo. I'm not sure I want to buy the cameo because it won't allow me to use MTC, a software I've all ready purchased.

Ok - I wasn't sure if that's what you were saying or about the cricut. So I posted just in case.

I personally would not buy a linked cart. I no longer remember how to use my Cricut without my Gypsy (and I don't want to try).

I do wish Cricut would let you unlink carts for resale.

I would just hang onto the carts, you never know when you will have use for a particular design, especially since you can't get much for them anyway.

I have both bought and sold linked carts for $20 with shipping. If you only charge $15, take out shipping paypal, you are only getting about $10-$11 each.

I have a cricut expression-no gypsy or anything else. Does it matter if I purchase linked cartridges or unlinked? Why are linked cartridges less expensive?

Linked carts should be less expensive because the buyer does not have the ability to link it if they have or buy a Gyspy. The carts can only be linked once. HTH

You can still use them in your Cricut Expression. You just wouldn't be able to load it onto a Gypsy if you ever buy one. You can use linked cartridges in the actual machines by plugging the cartridge directly into the machine. I have a gypsy and will buy linked cartridges. I just mark them so that I know I have to use them with the Cricut.

I wouldn't sell my linked carts. I had to have my Gypsy replaced. I was able to re-link them to the replacement Gypsy. If I had sold them, I would have been out-of-luck.
