I couldn't believe it. He's only 11, and he is the tallest in his class, always has been. His soccer shoes were 8.5 size this year. I can't imagine what size he will need by the time he's done growing.

My 8 year old is in 6 1/2 to 7 - the last size before we go to men shoe sizes. So not ready to pay the higher price for shoes when he goes through them so quickly...

My 11 year old, will turn 12 in Jan, wears size 10. I think he could probably get a 9.5, but boys/men don't know how to buy shoes LOL...He wears the same size as my husband.

He's not particularly tall, I don't think, he's average, and he's skinny....Maybe he'll have a growth spurt or something to fit into those feet. I sure hope THEY are done growing at least....

DS just turned 12, wears a men's 8 shoe and a men's medium t-shirt. His father wears a size 13 shoe so it's not surprising except the adult shoe sticker shock is a little hard to take.

DS is 7 and wears a kids size 3. DD wears a size 2. Most of the kids in their class were in a 1. So not overly big. My DH wears a 13 so I am guessing DS will fill his shoes one day.

When my son started 7th grade he was barely 12 (August birthday) and was in a Mens size 13. He was only about 5'6" at that time, but quickly grew into the feet. 3 years later, he is 6'1" and his feet haven't grown at all in that time.

My other son just started 7th grade, and wears a 10.5 in Mens. He's about 5'6" or 5'7" and in the middle of his growth spurt, but his feet are smaller than his brother's were at that age.

My 13 yo wears a 10 or 10.5 depending on the shoe. About the size his dad wears. I don't think he is done growing yet. At least I hope not. He has just barely overtaken me, and I'm only 5'2". But I have some very short men in my family, so my boys have to deal with that unfortunate genetic.

My 12 yr old wears a men's size 11.5. He hasn't grown into his feet yet and tends to be a little clompy.

He will be doing hand me ups to his father soon.

We JUST measured our 11.5 year old when we took him shoe shopping last night - a men's 9.5!!! Bigger than my husbands!

FWIW, we had a physical this summer and found that he is in the 97th percentile for height at 5'3" ! He also weighs more than I do.

Cheers,
Elaine

I have an 11 year old DS and he's 5'5" and wears a mens 11 1/2 shoe. I'm so glad to hear that there are boys with feet as big or bigger than DS. Everyone his age (that we know) is much smaller with much smaller feet! He seems much more "normal" now.

Reading some of these responses scare me!! haha My two boys are total opposites. My oldest (who will be 4 in October) wears a kid's 11 and is wearing size 5 clothes, but my youngest (who just turned 2) just started wearing a size 6 and wears size 2 clothes - much more in line with his age, I think. Neither my DH nor I are overly tall people (DH is 5'9" and I am 5'7" but my birth father was 6'3", so I wouldn't be surprised if my boys end up tall men.

My 12.5 year old went from a size 5 on his 12th birthday to a 9 4 months later . He's held steady for the past few months but we'll see. He calls his feet flippers because he is skinny and not really that tall, but with a dad who's 6'2 and a brother pushing 6'3 (Size 12 feet), I'm pretty sure he's going to end up growing into those big feet of his.

He's towering over his school friends he hasn't seen over the summer. I think he hit that growth spurt.

My 13 year old nephew wears men's size 9. He actually might be a little bigger now, since that was a while ago. That's the same size as his dad.

My mom goes to my sister "Why are you buying him a size NINE shoe?????"
My sister goes "Because they have to fit his feet Mom."

When my DS was 11 he wore a 10; he's fifteen and he's wearing a size 13, almost ready for a size 14. He's 6'1" and still growing; he only weighs 150 lb. At least the crazy growth spurts stopped. When he was about 12 he grew about 7 inches in 6 mo.

Last year he grew 3/4 in in 43 days....

When my DS was 11, he wore a 10. In high school he started out at a 12 and finished at a 13. He is in his 30s, now and wears a 13 or 14 depending on the shoe.

Funny story about my DS's shoes. I had a little Ford Escort wagon when he was in HS, he learned to drive on it ans when he got his license, he pretty much used that little wagon. He had it the night before and threw his size 13 tennis shoes in the back and his jacket on top.

I had the car the next day and drove through the bank drive through. The teller is a very petite woman and I noticed she kept peering into the back of my wagon. At the end of the transaction, she said, "I just have to ask, is that a promotional shoe back there?" When I told her no, it was my son's shoe...the expression on her face was priceless.
