I can't figure out the process. There are about 8 people that I am "following" and I know I didnt add them. They dont have anything I am interested in and I want to get them off. Does anyone know how they ended up there and how do I delete them?

I don't see 'people' on the top, and I need to unfollow some folks who I never followed in the first place.

Pinterest also assumes that if you follow a person that you will automatically follow any new boards they create. So for example one woman I follow for craft stuff made a new board about vintage Santa pictures. When those started popping up I clicked on the picture, it took me to that board and I clicked unfollow, right at the top of the page.

I don't have proof of this, but I think they "stick" you with a certain amount of people when you very first sign up, and there is NO way that I have found to get rid of them. There IS no unfollow button. gahhate it!

They changed the layout, I think that's what it used to say.

Try clicking on your own name, then you'll be at your own profile page. Under your name on the left, it should say something like "98 followers, 95 following". That's actually 2 clickable links, one for each category.

Click on the "following" one to see everyone you're following. To unfollow a person completely, click on the greyed-out looking box next to their name that says Following. It should change to a red box that says Follow All - and you'll no longer be following them.

To unfollow specific boards from a person, click on their name and it will take you to their profile page. From there you can unfollow individual boards the same way.

Or as Raindancer says, on a pin that shows up on your feed, click on the name of the board it was pinned to (the last link in the description underneath it), the follow/unfollow button is then at the top of the page.

I've been wondering the same thing, and I think I've figured it out. Click on your profile in the top right corner, then click on "XX Following" right above your profile pic on the left side. That will give you a list of all the people you're following. To unfollow someone, click on the grayed-out "Following" button next to their name. It will change to a red "Follow All" button.

That's all there is to it! It seemed a bit counter-intuitive to have what looks like a grayed-out button for someone you do want to keep.

Hope that helps.

There isn't an "unfollow" button. But if you go into the list of people you're following, just click the grey-scale "following" box and that will "unfollow" the person. It turns red and says "follow" when you do this.

OK, I'll do it, but that makes no sense to me

Follow All sounds like suddenly I'll be stuck following eleventymillion boards I do not want!

I know what you mean, it is a bit counterintuitive that there's no specific "Unfollow" button, but "Follow All" is what happens when you click on the button that says "Follow All". If it says that, you haven't clicked on it, therefore you aren't following!

I know this is a thread from a few weeks ago, but thanks for the advice - it's totally counterintuitive and it totally works!

It's like a gadget with only an "on" button. You click the "on" (or "follow" button to turn the following on and off.

When I signed up, my list of followers showed one - me.

I just go to their boards and click unfollow.

I have really edited down my list -- it is just too overwhelming. I am not a 'Follow All' gal at all

This doesn't work. I have unfollowed this one person. I am not following any of his boards. And he still shows up that I am following him.
I don't know who this person is and I am not interested in anything he pins. But I can't get rid of him. He's a stalker.

Thank you for the advice! I didn't even realize I was following a bunch of 'who are theys' until I scanned my pins. Yikes! Your advice worked for me! I think its something I will have to do on a regular basis.

I have unfollowed a person a BILLION times (and that's not an exaggeration). I CAN'T Unfollow Charles Hall ~ Fat Daddy Loves You. Anyone else with him? It's REALLY making me mad because he goes on a streak where he pins 50 weird photographs and on my phone that takes up a ton of room. I emailed them, but it was over the weekend and I haven't heard back yet.

I'm finding Pinterest to be somewhat quirky! This morning I had an email from Pinterest stating that someone changed the title of one of my boards.

How is that possible? That person wasn't listed on my follower list nor have I ever followed her. I was able to edit my board title to the original.

My phone must have eaten my post from earlier.

I'm following someone from the ones suggested when I first signed up. I'm posting the name to see if any of you have the same problem ~ Charles Hall, Fat Daddy Loves You. I CAN'T Unfollow him. I have hit the Unfollow button a billion times, by profile and by board, on my phone and online, he STILL shows up! And it's really weird photos and tons of them at a time, he takes up my whole "following" pins page. I have emailed to see what I can do to remove him, but it was just this weekend so they haven't replied. I'm to the point where I may sign up under another email and repin EVERYTHING just to get rid of him!

ETA ~ geez, it didn't eat my post so now I have two basically saying the same thing! sorry!

It is. Thankfully I found the answer. I have had a few people that I started following when I started who drove me crazy with their pins. I am happy to NOT see them anymore. Thanks to the person who answered this question!

I think figured it out!! I have spent too much time trying to remove a pinner that was given to me when I signed up.

Try this first (as suggested from another poster): Click on your name at the top right of the page. On the next page on the top left under your name it will say #following underlined in blue. Click that and a list of who you are following will pop up. click on Unfollow for who you want to remove.

If that doesn't work, try this:
On your "pinners you follow page" click on one of the items they posted. On the left side of the picture that pops up will be the board that they posted it on. Click on the "unfollow" below the board and it will turn into a red "follow". Then click on the pinterest logo and it will take you back to the original page. All of the pins on that board should be removed. Then do the next picture until you have removed all the boards you want to ssociated with that pinner.

People are finding it in a Google search
