morning, ladies!

this week, we're organizing our memorabilia. i don't have much to contribute this week - i have what little memorabilia i have displayed up on one of those ribbon boards...

so what's everyone been up to?

s/o's still working on the shed. i've been working on she art this weekend - i got home at 2pm yesterday, i work tuesday, then i'm off again until the following wednesday. i'm thinking my next project is going to be redoing the enclosed porch. this little bedroom isn't really good for working w/ all the art mediums - i'm going to end up having to replace this carpetting if i keep it up.

here's the link to wookiemouse's blog.

question of the week: what's the craziest thing you've kept for your scrapbook pages?

happy organizing!

It is very rare that I keep memorabilia. I usually take a picture of it and then toss it.
I haven't kept it anything weird to my knowledge. Some rope from the worlds largest tug-of-war contest in Naha, Japan. Thats about as weird as I get, I think.

thankfully this is a free week for me also.

Yesterday, I had somebody move the furniture around in my scraproom -- so, now what was a hellofamess, is now a forkinghellofamess!!!!

my scrappy goals for 2012:
. finish all the bits and pieces on LOs which are missing a letter, or a picture needs to be reprinted, etc.
. finish up H's albums
. make an acrylic album
. finish my heritage albums
. sort Dad's genealogy stuff
. try to finish up the several albums that are started; label them; move them downstairs where they can be enjoyed
. make mini albums
. oh, yeah, get my [s]crap place organized & KEEP IT NEAT!

This is not a free week for me, but I have a pretty decent system that I'm happy with I'll take pictures later today as I don't think I have before.

Weirdest thing I've kept??? Maybe the hospital ID bracelet they gave me when I dislocated my shoulder. It goes along with the picture I asked DH to take before I passed out. A few days later DH said to me, you know you're a scrapbooker when ...

I have a basket with memorabilia thrown in it... guess I should organize it in some way. I really don't have anything 'crazy' on my pages, just ticket stubs, brochures, etc. I guess the craziest is a drink stirrer...

Happy Labor Day!

Hello Peas....I hope everyone is having a nice Labor Day week end. Now we are talking about memorabilia. I've got lots of that. For some reason, I like to save things like maps, business cards, ticket stubs, etc. to use on my pages. I think that make intersting embellishments. I usually keep said memorabillia with the pix I will be scrapping, but if the pix aren't printed out, then I keep the memorabilia in a labeled envelope.

As for the weirdest thing I've kept? Um, like Kris74, I have hospital bracelets (from when my DD broke her arm).

Y'all have a great week!!

Memorabilia...I have bunches of it, most in assorted gift bags throughout my scraproom. Not the best organizational system, but I know where something is when I need it. LOL

Weirdest thing I've kept? A beer bottle. It's called 'Bad Frog'. Love the frog.

Nope, nothing here.

Actually, I worked on sorting through the thousand or so pictures from the summer. July is done so far, and that took me all afternoon!

OK, this is the week I have dreaded. LOL! I love to save memorabilia, and it tends to be all over the house. But, at the very beginning of this challenge, I managed to organize most of it and put it into spare page protectors. I do have one milk crate with some old vacation stuff in it that I should probably organize.

I don't think I have kept anything people would think was weird. Mostly tickets, programs, maps, etc. I do have my kids' hospital bracelets from when they were born...but it sounds like lots of people keep hospital bracelets!

Had a great weekend here. We had friends here from Germany (the daughter was our foreign exchange student five years ago), so we did all kinds of "American" things...rib fest downtown, college football game complete with tailgating. Lots of fun!

I use an old milk crate too. I use gallon size ziplock baggies. I mark the outside with the date and some info as to what is tucked inside. I usually save brochures and such to cut up.

The weirdest things I have saved might be the stingers from bees. Each of my kids have been stung at sep times. Yeah, I saved the stingers.

My memorabilia is in a box above my desk, I just throw things in there right now. I still haven't tackled my shelves yet, where I know there are hidden pieces of memorabilia. Right now I'm avoiding the long list of things I need to do, it being a free from running around day, part of me just wants to veg out today but another part of me knows I have to take advantage of the kids in school and the ability to move around the house without bumping into someone else, lol. I also need to make a promised youtube video on a mini album someone asked me about.

I eventually want to make holding albums that include my photos, memorabilia and page plans so I just have to take out the album I want to work on and everything is right there.

Hope everyone is doing well, I'll check in later to read more of what everyone is doing

I also have lots of memorabilia. I save brochures, tickets, maps, napkins (clean), things like that.

Before this challenge I kept most of it in 2 archival boxes. This week and last week I went through those 2 boxes, organized and filed them into page protectors-ended up with 4 (normal size, not huge) binders!

I also take a Creative Memories File Mate case (an accordion folder) on each trip or vacation, that I fill by the day into each slot. I decided to keep that storage as it is. I have these cases all labelled and they are stored with the rest of my scrapping things.

I don't know if it's crazy or not but I did keep and used on a scrapbook page a locket of my son's hair when he got his first haircut. He is now 22 so I'm glad I did that.

And since I missed posting last week: I had almost all of my templates in a drawer but decided to go through them (wow-lot's I'd forgotten I had) and file the ones that fit into 81/2 x 11 page protectors in a binder. The ones that were too big I kept in the drawer, but by then there was much less clutter and it's easier to look through them.
