hi!

this is where i'll be for the next week. lol... i've already made that quite clear to everyone.

i finally finished up the videos for the she had three hearts workshop and soul restoration II starts tuesday, so... i want to play some w/ the techniques from christy tomlinson's two workshop - make a second set of she art girls, work on my she had three hearts journal, and get the soul restoration II work done for the week. oh, and i also have to go to michael's today or tomorrow to get a few things - like, for example, a gallon of gesso. lol...

if i were to get to that point, which i doubt, i'll go back and start working through 52 card pickup and at home with claudine - barely even looked at those classes.

someone, please check in on me throughout the week - make sure i'm still alive in here. lol...
i hadn't actually intended to leave my studio for anything more than laundry and dishes. besides, dag's quite happy on my desk and thor's right under my feet - they're going to love this too!

Hi, Crisann & everybody!

No fonts here.

Journaling? If you had asked me this last year, I would have said "what's that?". But this year, since I'm still concentrating on my 2010 December Daily, I've done quite a bit of journaling- in my own handwriting. I'm kind of happy with it, tho, I wish it weren't so sloppy.

I bought some alphabet stamps to do things more neatly, but I found that it's just faster to write it down.

I love the tiny alpha stickers from Making Memories and Cosmo Cricket, they are, by far, my favorite journaling tool.

Okay, off to tackle the paper pile. Later!!

Fonts? Eh...Whatever is loaded onto my computer works. I do remember the font craze-days though, LOL! If I journal I do it by hand. I'm way too lazy to print it out on the computer.

I'm actually fairly happy with my setup now. I've tweaked it here and there to better fit my needs but I'm as organized as I'll ever get! It gets clean, then it gets messy, then it gets clean again, aaaannnd messy! The circle of life, LOL!
My oldest son (high school freshman) has taken over my scrap area for the day to work on a school project. I actually ran some playdoh thru my bigshot to flatten it out, LOL!
Have a great week!

Uh oh...this is one of the weeks I actually have a ton to do!! I love fonts, and since I use my Silhouette so much for titles I'm always downloading cute fonts that I think will work. I started organizing them into "types" in the Font Book app on my Mac, but I need to really work on that this week. DH just left and will be gone on a work trip until Friday, so I have TONS of time to myself to craft and organize! I need to prioritize...I have to catch up on LOs for "Learn Something New Every Day", work on my parents' 50th anniversary album, and organize some pictures and my fonts!

I used to print all of my journaling, but after reading a lot about how people love to find things their ancestors wrote by hand I've started using my own handwriting...even though I HATE my handwriting! I had to let go of some of my perfectionism by doing it, but I think it will mean a lot when people look at it in later years.

Crisann, looks like both of us will be holed up in our craft spaces this week...I'll check on you to make sure you're still alive if you'll do the same with me! LOL!

Oh my. Before ECT (medical treatments that caused lots of memory loss) I had some fonts stored on my computer. Now I can't remember how to get to them, how to use them, or how to download them. I am going to have to wait to do this and organize my fonts until DH has time to help me.

QOTW-I prefer to do most of my journaling by hand for a couple of reasons.

1. For me it's a lot easier and faster than using the computer (I am barely computer literate).

2. I think it's important to use my own handwriting for my family because of the emotional connection it has-just this weekend I came across two recipes handwritten on index cards from my grandmother who passed away in 2004. They weren't perfect, just plain old index cards where her writing had faded a bit. But to me they are precious. Since my grandmother had dementia when she died it was wonderful for me to see those cards and remember her as the amazingly strong woman she was.

Think about it. Handwriting is so individual. When I come across old letters I have saved I can tell who the letter is from just by glancing at the handwriting.

When I use lengthy journaling I prefer to use the computer.

I do worry though that my son or his children won't be able to read my handwriting in future years. I write cursive (my printing looks terrible) what with schools these days getting away from teaching cursive. I might print it with the computer and adhere it to the back of each page, but that is a lot of extra work.

So anyway, as it turns out this is a free week for me. Which is great because I have two weeks until the annual huge scrapbooking yardsale that I look forward to each year. If you want to sell you have to book by January 1st, and I thought I'd be on vacation this year so I didn't book a table. I am currently working on photographing a pile of scrapbook items I want to sell to get them listed on the For Sale/Trade board so that I'll have money for this great event. This will keep me very busy. Also I want to photograph my scrap room and the wonderful organization I've accomplished (could never have done it without this challenge) to post at the end of this challenge.

See you all next week. We are getting close to the end and can I just say that I have loved this challenge. I was surprised how unorganized I really was, and it feels so much better to be able to put my finger on what I need within a minute or two instead of searching through all of my stamps for example. I wouldn't mind doing this challenge again to fine tune everything. Any one else interested?

Debbie in MD.

I don't have alot of fonts, either... just what's on the computer so this is an easy week for me too

My journaling depends on the project. I agree with Debbie, I like the handwritten. I have recipes of my Moms' that I will never throw out because she hand wrote them out. But I do have ugly handwriting!

If it's a short amount I handwrite/print it. But if it's long, for instance working on our cruise album, then I type out the journaling.

Have a good week everyone
