I would love to see links to your cards - especially Christmas cards. I think these dies are fabulous - so delicate and beautiful - especially love the Classic Ornament and the Snowflake Ornament. (used together). Can't seem to stop die-cutting them with different papers and card stock.

Molly, when Nora and I were at a stamp show, I bought one--the simplest one, Holly Vine. The sales person didn't have any samples on display. I'm sure she would have sold a ton if people could have seen how beautiful they were. Later, we went somewhere else and saw gorgeous samples. Nora picked up a few stunning ones. Lucky for me, she even sent me some pieces she had die cut. They are so delicate and lovely, I'm afraid to use them! I just take them out and look at them. LOL.
I just did a Google search and looked to see what was there. That snowflake ornament you mentioned is wonderful. I like all of the circles. Nora sent me some cut-outs of the Catalina Wreath (one of my favorites), the Flowering Christmas Tree, and the Valerian Flourish. My Holly Vine looks like a poor cousin in comparison. LOL.
We'll have to watch Nora's gallery for new cards.

I have several of the dies...I've only managed to cut them, though...haven't made anything yet. The are so beautiful. I also got a couple of the bear stamps and the dies that coordinate with them, and the girl with a dog on a sled stamp and the die that goes with it. Well, I'm waiting for the stamp of the girl and the sled because the place I ordered from sent me the wrong stamp...I should get the right one tomorrow. I love Memory Box! |

I ordered the tags online to "see" what they were like first, and so far all i have done is cut a few from scraps 
but, they cut well in a cuttlebug so I think I will be adding to this collection soon. |

I purchased some from a great stamp store when I visited my sister in Illinois. I have cut with them yet, but you have given me the inspirations to do so.

Also, since I haven't used them yet - what machines are you using to cut them with and what sandwiches are you using.
that information would be so helpful, so that I don't have to do trial and error.

I found an online store that has lots of MBDs & 'need' several.
Lickey. While I was sourcing these dies, I found they are Cuttlebug-compatible.
What has me salivating is how many of these dies will work as both solids & stencils. And I can see some turning into (craftfoam) stamps. |

They'll cut beautifully in your Big Shot, Cuddlebug, Revolution, Wizard, Epic, Grand Calibur....I'm telling you they are sooooo nice! Much more sophisticated and finely detailed than the norm. I keep going back to several sources: Ellen Hutson, Simon Says, Frantic Stamper - and I see so many are sold out now (especially the Snowflake related, Ornaments, flourishes. Simon Says has put them on sale. Grab them while you can - I've heard MB is very slow to ship.

Thanx for your tips about where to find MBDs, Molly. And the advice that they (may) be slow to ship.
I was looking @ Stampassion & they were showing lots of them--don't know about 'in stock'. Prices seemed reasonable to me & S&H didn't seem too high either.
ITA about the many MBDs that are very delicate & sophisticated--especially some of the foliage & butterfly ones.

It's probably fine if your retailer has them in stock but my LSS has had lots of trouble with slow orders and reorders.
I don't have any of the Christmas dies but I love the doily one! Here's some cards I made with the doily:

If you have some of the MB dies could you help a newbie? I was so excited when my new MB die arrived but my new catalina wreath doesn't cut in one section. I've tried cardstock shims and running it extra times through my cuttlebug. Is it defective or is the steel plate mandatory? Thnks so much for your wisdom, posie blue | |

posieblue - I have the Catalina Wreath die and it cuts beautifully in my Big Shot. I don't have a Cuttlebug, but here is a suggestion: after running it through once, turn the die still positioned in the paper (just a quarter turn) and run it through again. You should not have to shim this die.

I thank Daria for alerting me to this subject on the message board. I have purchased 5 of these dies, and have used the Cuttlebug with no problems. I placed the A plate, the C Plate, then the Die Cut face up. Placed choice of paper, then the B Plate. The only difficulty I had was removing the die cut from the die, however it helped to use a pin to remove the paper from the die. I also used the Flowering Christmas Tree without any difficulty.
These dies are so delicate and beautiful. I am anxious to use the rest of the dies I haven't had time to play with yet.
I enjoyed seeing your beautiful cards, Lianne.
When I have some time, I hope to upload to the gallery the cards I have made with these beautiful dies.

Neat examples of using a great diecut in multiple ways, LiAnna! TFS!
Ditto on those offering ways to use the Cuttlebug with these dies. The plate recipe is a keeper! Also the 'pin' lift is a great tip (no pun intended). I've had to do that with other complex dies, too.
I'm still working over my shopping list. The tricky part for me is deciding which ones will provide me with the most ways to use them.
I've noticed that some of the dies seem to be more 'stencil' than others. That's not a problem, but has me wondering... Those of you who have any of these dies? Do you use both the positives & the negatives? |

I have noticed a challenge with the die cuts - some are so delicate that I am not sure how I will glue them down.
Any recommendations and/or suggestions. I bought a little fence die and that only way I can see to glue it will be to add something to the front of the fence to hold the die down.
Also have the leaves and flower mounds dies, they will be interesting as well. |

I don't have the little fence die - I'm sure it must be extremely delicate, but I do have the holly vine - also very delicate and maybe a bit more so than my other MB dies. I glue them all with the Zig Squeeze n' Roll glue pen - it's easy to control if you just dot it on the die. I love that pen - I'd be lost without it and I use it for most of my die cuts. Any adhesive that shows when the die is positioned is easily and efficiently removed with the point of my EK adhesive remover (fat aqua crayon thing).

I have the 2 poinsettia stamps & dies. I took 2 classes using them, one with Twinkling H2Os and one with copics. Copics are faster for me, plus I don't have many H2Os, yet.
I also have the big snow globe, but haven't used them yet.

I've posted one of my Christmas cards using the Memory Box Ornament (the Classic with the Snowflake overlay). I'm sure I'll make more cards with this die, and although I have a few other MB dies, this one remains a favorite.

I just bought my first Memory Box die yesterday and it is beautiful! I got the Snowflake Corner die. It cut really well in my Cuttlebug, but I did have to shim it. My B plate is pretty warped, so that is probably why.
I have literally had to restrain myself from going back to the store and buying more of them! They have some gorgeous designs and the prices are really reasonable.
I made a Tag/Ornament earlier today with it and I am loving it! It is in the second picture on that post.
It is supposed to be a "snowflake" corner, but I will be using this for a lot more. It can pass for floral too. |

Thanks, Daria! On the package it just says "For use on Cardstock, Felt, Fabric, and Shrink Plastic".
Would love to hear what else anyone has experimented with.
ETA: I just tried out mine on fabric and it didn't work. First time through it cut partially. Added more shims and the second time through it cut partially in some areas and just broke the design apart in others. |

When I checked with my LSS, they reccomended a metal cutting plate adaptor for the Cuttlebug. I tried my friend's plate and it did seem to cut the cardstock better. Maybe it would work for heavier things. I decided to stick with the suggestions in the earlier post instead of investing in a plate. I am afraid it is too hard on the Bug. Posieblue | |

I will hae to give the plate a look if my store has it. Mine is cutting cardstock just fine and I don't know if I will be using it for much else. The plate might not be worth having. |

LOL, Michelle! I had to go back & see which ones I ordered... Here's my list:
Madera Corner, Floral Circle, Wrought Iron (gate & fence*), Flowering Christmas Tree, Catalina Wreath, Woodland Branch, Country House.
* Lickey. I'm going to use gluestick on the fence & gate by laying the diecuts on freezer paper & smearing gently. I'll let you know how this goes.
I was pleased to hear that my order shipped the same day & the store contacted USPS so I can track my order. Cool! Figure they should arrive monday.
Since so many of these dies are delicate, I'm going to go back to the (online) store & see if they have tips on gluing them to projects. 'Course I know using shipping labels will work, too. |

Oooh, Daniel - you've ordered some wonderful MB dies! Makes me want some of the ones you mentioned - and btw, try that Zig Squeeze N' Roll glue stick for adhering these extremely delicate dies. I think Dave at MB uses the Scotch Quick Dry, and although it has a fine tip - I like the Zig better.
I've just uploaded another card - this time with the adorable Perched Reed Bird and the Twigs & Berries dies. Any of you have these? I LOVE them. Hope you'll take a look...

I went back to the 'store'(stampassion.com) & ordered some more dies. Appears 2Ps carries MB stamps, but not the dies. Since the stamps all seem to be be woodmounts, I'll pass. |

LOL, Daria! I decided to play Santa to myself this year. Mom can't really get out to shop & I don't want/need socks or underwear.
My latest shopping @ stampassion was interesting. I picked up 2 more MBDs--grapevine wreath & tivoli snowflake--along with a TH set of embossing folders--snowflake flurries & snowman. My biggest purchase was 2 sets of micron pens. I've been struggling to find replacements for my Zig Millenium pens so I can do some Zentangling. SP has a nice section dedicated to ZT. 'Course I'll see what 2Ps has, too.
I asked Melissa (stampassion) about tips on adhere-ing the delicate diecuts. She uses a 'Quickie Glue Pen' & said she'd send me one to try.
Can't wait to play with my new toys! |

The Sakura Quickie Glue Pen is a good one. I've been using one for years. The point is very fine so I think it will work great on these intricate designs.
I did some more on-line window shopping, and there are just too many that I'd like to have. I have a gift certificate from last Christmas that I haven't spent; it's for a sort-of local store that I love. I know they sell MB stamps. Maybe they sell the die cuts too.

Well it 'official'. I'm in love with my MBDs! I used the plate recipe--A, C, Die, Material, B--with the floral tree using pp. Worked pretty well...
Then went for my first 'test'--craftfoam!Used the 4" floral wreath & had to shim with some cardstock, but it worked like gangbusters! That means I can make dies & turn them into stamps, as well as heat shrink & more the foam diecut. Very Cool!
I have yet to try them with acetate & beverage can metal, but expect they'll work very well, too!
Definitely see myself hosting a diecut challenge during Winterfest '12 (Yeah, he did bring up the next 'party') But sweat not! I figure we can start talking about it after we enjoy Christmas & New Year's... |

LOL. Michelle! I'll have you 'foaming', I'm sure. If you have a CVS pharmacy near you, check it out for foam. I got a pack of 5.5 X 8.5 sheets in rainbow colors + B&W for a few bucks.
Tanx for the update on the steampunk scan. I was pretty pleased the way it came out.
My latest order of MBDs arrived today--grapevine wreath & Tivoli snowflake. I can see both getting a workout. Melissa @ StamPassions included a freebee 'Quickie Glue' pen--how nice!

Just tried the grapevine wreath die with beverage can metal... Worked beautifully! & there are no sharp edges.
Now... The one thing that is true (& others have mentioned it) is removing the 'little bits' from some of the designs--like the grapevine wreath. Even when you get a good cut--all mine have been--you have to patient when you remove the leftovers. The 'pin' method (see an earlier post on this thread) works well. So does the tip of bamboo skewer. |
