Okay, so I've never been ashamed of the fact that I'm a Stacy Julian groupie.

And I am going to take her new class. I know it's a lot and I am just sucking it up and doing it.

Is anyone else jumping in with me?

I'm also not ashamed to see if there is a coupon code out there. Any valid Big Picture Classes coupon codes?

<sigh> I want to. I am a SJ fan as well. I took Finding Photo Freedom and loved it. I'm trying to slow down my spending so I have been trying to ignore the emails from BPS.

I have 2 self paced classes that I haven't started (one of them is the Cathy Z class that a lot of peas are starting in December).

Is there a lot of prep? In case I weaken...

oh, I really wish I could take this one! It looks like a lot of fun but wayyyy too pricey for me right now.

I am signed up for the DYL class (self-paced) we are starting in January so that will have to suffice for me.

I am taking it (Merry Christmas to me!) and I used the paperclipping coupon and their affiliate link to support them. I would LOVE to complete 4 LOs a week. I am planning on switching rooms to a bigger scraproom (but worse lighting than the one I have now) in the next week so the goal is to have it all organized and ready to go for January.

I've been contemplating it. I will most likely take it. I do find Stacy inspiring and I do use the LOM/PF system so hopefully this ties in with that. I'm glad there is still a coupon code. Every little bit helps with it. I still can't figure out exactly why it's $144. Seems a little steep. I know it's a year long, but it's not really a year long. I haven't been disappointed with any of the more expensive classes that I have taken so far at BPC, so hopefully this one will be worth it too.

As much as I love SJ, I just can't bring myself to spend that much on the workshop. I'm a lifer LOM'er, and it kills me not to take this class.

Just can't do it. I'll be jealous of you all, but I'm going to have to sit this one out.

I'm sure it's worth every single red cent, she is the ultimate teacher, and I'm sure the quality will be top notch.

I would love to, but that price is pretty steep. I wish she would offer payment broken up on a month to month, but I understand that may not be the direction she wants to go with it. Maybe they will offer it as a self paced in the future. I'm sure it will be fabulous!

The coupon code worked for me this morning. I wasn't going to sign up because of the price, but then I started looking at how my photo storage situation improved & continues to work since I took LOM over a year ago. Plus, I've scrapped so much more since my photos are organized! Hoping "12" will do for my page production what LOM did for my photos!

It is too pricey for me right now, although I would love too and sure its great.

I'm in. I hope I'm up to it, since I'm also going to try to do the DYL with the peas in Jan. But how could I NOT take a Stacy class?

Penny, so far she has had us doing things like:
-consider purchasing a black and white album (this one is tough-involves shopping )
-bake a favorite muffin and take a photo
-spray paint a muffin tin a favorite color. This one I'm working on since the non-stick muffin pans DO NOT take spray paint.
-build and inspiration file from a small container.
-and a few other small simple tasks.

Anyone paint their muffin tin and found a working solution to the non-stick?

The muffin tin is to hold embellishments divided into color groupings. (There are 12 spots!) Beyond that your guess is as good as mine!

Okay - I can plan to skip that.

A.) Random things in my scrap room drive me nuts.
B.) The house cats would have it flipped out everywhere.
C.) I store a lot of embellishments by color already anyway.

Stacy obviously doesn't have cats. I'll be skipping that step also or I could save myself the trouble and just throw all my embellishments on the floor and under the couch.

If mine had any access to the scrap table, the embellies would also be carried halfway up the stairs or placed under the refrigerator.

I'm debating taking the class. I love SJ and have always found her inspiring. I was a litte put off by the price, beause that is a lot to spend without knowing what you really are getting. I would be disapointed if it were just 12 prompts a month of 12 different subjects. That being said, I have never been disapointed in one of her classes before. I just can't decide.

I got an email last night that reminded me to sign up and let me see the pre-classroom site for free just now. I also watched her cute video on the course description page. Just adore her.

Did any of you find a cute bin? I may have an excuse now to go to The Container Store!

I ran out to get my little basket she talks about in the pre-class assignments. I am SUPER excited and the thought of her helping us do 4 LO's a week. Plus, I love how she organizes and gets us thinking, so I am very hopeful that her system she shares is something that will really work for me!!

Can't wait!

I'll be there! I wish she had a photo freedom class in 2012 I got the book but have questions about the drawers and binders... As of now I have 1 binder for storage and have no idea what to put in the drawers! Also the yahoo group won't let you in unless you took the class. Sigh. O well, hopefully this class with inspire me!

I have studied this and like the concept but am not crazy about the mechanics. So rather than sign up for the "official," I am planning to take 12 photos on the 12th of every month and then go off on my own to do the creative part.

Then again, I've always been a rebel like that. I'm not into programs, kits, official organization, etc.

For what it's worth, I don't think this is the gist of it at all. She talks about inspired scrapbooking and I don't feel like a rote 12 on 12 would be that at all. It's 12 LO's a month for 12 months.

I went to Target and found squat and then headed to The Container Store. LOTS of choices there. FYI, the dimensions have you looking for something like a DVD or Video storage box.

I ended up getting a wire basket - looks like a vintage egg basket, sans the handle. it and I know I will adore having it sit out.

I noticed she said to cover only one side of the chipboard - but I am going to cover both, I think. Will give it a little more stability, plus it will feel better to the touch and I'll enjoy it more. Lord knows I have tons of paper. I am using some good 'ole Daisy D's for my "egg basket".

I agree. I looked at it as I would a sketch. In its present form, it didn't match my creative needs. So I tweaked it to look like how I would have established the program.

FWIW, I take kits apart and put the pieces in with my general supplies, too. I feel like I'm cheating if I follow the picture rather than do it the hard way and create something else.

Actually, minewas staring me in the face on DH's desk, so I "borrowed" it

It's a plastic hanging file folder holder we've had for eons, but it doesn't have a purpose right now. I added 12 file folders to it. Cricut-ed "twelve" and stuck it to the front. I will add the binder clips to it once I head out to the Staples tomorrow for a fresh box. I'm calling it done - it's good enough.

As much as I would love to have a really "cute" file box, I just can't justify the money after what the class set me back. Plus, I don't need an "extra" file container in my scrap room ... I don't have enough room for all the supplies I have in there as it is

All of this talk of classes was really getting me in the mood!! So I have just signed up this instant. The code still worked so thanks so much for sharing this discount. I haven't scrapped in about 3 years and really want to get back into it. I have a whole room full of STUFF! Hopefully, this will help me organize and motivate myself. I hate to journal so I hope there isn't much of that.

Are we all going to keep in touch on this thread?

Then maybe your pen name should be RESIDENT OVER ACHIEVER! Julie, you are such a mess!

I looked high and low for a bin around the house, but didn't have one. The paper I'm using is Daisy D's from '05 or '06 and it says Moda for Daisy D. Whatever that means. It's in the red and blues and creams, as it will sit out on my desk in my scraproom and those are my tones in here.

And I hear everyone on the expense of it. I am using mileage money from work for my tuition - kind of a New Year gift to me.

Off to put the adhesive on my chipboard and stick my paper down. Then the great debate over whether I attempt to sew paper onto chipboard. Yikes!

Reading the comments - she has you take pictures for this? Uh... I've got way too many to scrap as it is. I certainly do NOT need random pics.

There's a comment/picture in the preclass handout that we need to spend time with our pictures. I'm guessing we don't need to TAKE more pictures, just know where our pictures are

I think I have some of that paper too Penny!! I it!! I may have even cut into it once or twice.

Your bin is going to look so pretty!! Luckily, my room is still a hodge podge of colours, so my green plastic bin and multicoloured file folders are going to fit right in My thought is if this is something that will be more of a permanent thing on my desk I'll change it up - but for now, this is good enough for me.

I actually purchased a wire bin from the bath section at Target, measures 8.5x 6.5 x 5 inches and did my dividers up over the past few days in Cosmo Cricket's DeLovely- it turned out well! Today I hope to paint the second muffin tin (a vintage one I purchased on etsy, so finally a non-stick!) in a spring green. I am feeling semi-accomplished after this rush of Christmas leaving no room for my favorite hobby.

As for the concept of the class itself, I finally listened to the Paperclipping podcast where Stacy describes it as general photo inspiration combined with end result of Photo Freedom (the file folders) without needing the PF class. She also said that while most of the concepts of BPC are "BIG" (her favorite description) that Twelve will be "HUGE"!

I am very excited.

Thanks, Kris - I decided on ribbon for the top, vs. sewing paper, and am almost done and loving it. Since I am *hopeful* this will be a new method, that we fall in love with, I wanted my basket to be one that I enjoyed looking at.

Love the idea of the wire basket from Target - I didn't think to look in the bath section!

And thanks, sugaredsongbird, for the podcast review. I don't listen to them much and so I am excited by the info from that!!

C'mon January 1! Classroom OPEN!

This is the link for Paperclipping, in iTunes it is episode 92. The whole podcast is about 1.5 hours on various topics, but Twelve is talked about for about 10-15 minutes somewhere in the last half hour.
